Kitty O’Doole used to have it all. A big house in the suburbs, a sports car, and money in the bank, all provided by a loving husband. It had been a Cinderella story of all times until the FBI came knocking on her door with a warrant for her husband’s arrest. Now, three years later, working at McCurdy’s Bar and Restaurant, and taking night classes toward a degree in Education, her life is heading … heading in a positive direction. The last thing she needs is a gambling, whiskey-drinking, sexy cowboy, but when JW Whiskey sits down and orders a Johnnie Walker, Kitty finds herself falling for the wrong man. Again.
Or is he?
Johnnie Walker Whiskey, better known as JW, is one of the best bull riders in the business. But a recent scandal involving his last girlfriend tainted his career and marred his reputation. Needing a change of scenery, he tosses a dart at a map of the United States and wherever it lands, is where he’ll go for a week to clear his head. Of all places, he ends up in Baltimore. Who goes to Baltimore to lick their wounds? His first night in town, he wanders into McCurdy’s looking for a burger and a drink, not a sassy conversation with the sexiest, and smartest woman, he’s ever met.
Only he can’t stay away from the bar…or Kitty.
Over the course of the next few days, JW knows he’s falling hard for Kitty and for the first time in the last year, he feels like things might be looking up.
That is until her past and his scandal collide, throwing him into the spotlight…the very thing he’d been running from to begin with.

You gotta love a book when an author creates such down to earth, relatable characters and a storyline that is strong and believable and full of laughs, quick wit and banter and plausible drama. Though this is a quick read, it was great getting to know JW and Kitty and be immersed in their world.
Johnny Walker (JW) Whiskey was looking to decompress. A former bull rider now full-time rancher, he is rebounding from a scandal, with his ex, and just wanting to get away from the drama. The repercussions have left a stain on his career and damaged his reputation and he needs to put some distance between himself and home so he throws a dart at a map, promising himself to go where it lands, and is off to Baltimore, where he stands out like a sore thumb. After settling in at the hotel he ends up at a pub, Pat’s Irish Pub, looking for a good meal and ends up with so much more. He had no clue that walking in to grab a bite to eat would provide complications to his thought out plan or his heart.
Kitty O’Doole is recovering from her own life-changing drama. She used to have everything she thought she wanted, a big house, money and a loving husband by her side. After growing up poor, it was a dream come true. However when trouble, in the form of the FBI, shows up on her doorstep looking for her husband she realizes her fairy tale has come to an end. Three years later she is supporting herself by working at Pat’s Irish Pub and taking night classes towards a teaching degree. She has a well-designed plan and no room for entanglements. However, when the sexy cowboy crosses the threshold and strikes up a conversation she is suddenly rethinking her plans. He is a delicious complication that she cannot ignore.
The company and conversations are easy for JW and Kitty and though they both fight it, emotions get involved. But when their pasts collide in an unexpected way, will it shatter the bond forming between them or are they doomed to suffer similar fates as before?
Johnnie Walker is a great story full of strong, relatable characters, an interesting, engaging storyline, betrayal, steady suspense, several laughs, and some hot, sexy times! Hard-to-put-down, entertaining read!
Great Story
JW won the title for Bill riding and has decided he doesn’t want the big wedding Bella has planned. He finds her screwing around his friend Luke and gets angry. She accused him of hurting her and gets arrested. Now after everything is cleared up he takes a vacation his suggested and ends up in Baltimore. Kitty was finally getting her degree after her divorce, and is working at the local pub. That’s were she meets JW.
Loved Kitty and Johnny’s story. Kitty in her twenties had it all with her ex husband until he showed his true colors then divorced him. Johnny Walker famous bull rider, in his 40’s and a fiance, he thought he had it all, until she betrayed him in the worst way. So when he’s accused of something he didn’t do but cleared, he took a vacation and ended up in Baltimore where Kitty is. This was a great story, from start to finish.
I mean, how can you resist a story about a man named Johnny Walker Whiskey? If you’re me, you just can’t, and you’d be foolish to try because this is a story with strong characters, an interesting (and slightly different) storyline, some suspense, lots of betrayal, and some truly hot interactions. JW and Kitty are a formidable team as she faces her past and he looks to the future, and there is promise of great things from the other Whiskeys in future too. I can’t wait!
Johnnie Walker Whiskey aka JW, has had a couple of really rough months. Starting with breaking it off with his fiancé after catching her with his best friend Luke. At the insistence of his sister and brothers, he tossed a dart at a map and he’s now in Baltimore for a break.
Kitty the bartender is a pleasant surprise, and he finds he wants to get to know her better. Unfortunately her ex-husband keeps pestering her and actually approaches her at the Pub.
Now Kitty doesn’t date customers, but there’s something about JW that she just can’t resist.
This is a fun tale where I’m not sure who has the worst ex. Every interaction is fun for the reader but not so much for the characters.
Lots of Fun, Laughter, Sniffles, a Touch of Drama and Some Sizzle.
I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!

This is a wonderful read that draws you in and keeps you engaged until the last page It is the story of how fate can often give you what you need even if it isn’t what you think you want
This is the story of Johnny Walker (JW) Whiskey and Kitty O’Doole both have just had their lives collapse around them and they are both looking for the next thing in life little did they know it was each other. Kitty grew up poor and her dream was always to have a beautiful home and comfort she thought she had finally found it with her husband that is until the FBI knocked on the door and her dreams shattered around her. Since then she has be trying to make ends meet working at Pat’s Irish Pub in Baltimore. JW has his own problems he is a world renowned rodeo star but an indiscretion with his girlfriend has given him notoriety he doesn’t want and tarnished his career So he has decided to get away from his ranch and his past and a dart in a map has led him to Baltimore When he walks into an Irish pub looking for a drink and something to eat he finds maybe the thing he has been looking for While Kitty has a plan and is well on her way to becoming a teacher she knows that this cowboy could derail her plans Will they give into the passion brewing between them or will they still hide behind the walls they have built to protect themselves You will have to read to see
Johnnie Walker Whiskey (aka J.W.), championship bull rider, needed to get away from his ranch after his fiancée had him arrested on a fraudulent charge. He found her, doing her own form of riding, with his best friend and broke off their engagement. Due to the placement of a dart on a map, he ended up vacationing in Baltimore where he met Kitty O’Doole. Kitty is working as a bartender at McCurdy’s Bar, having divorced her wealthy husband when he hit her and testifying against him in a fraud case. Helping put her younger brother through college has extended her own college career, but she is close to obtaining her teaching certification. J.W. has not expressed any interest in women since his break up, but there is something about Kitty…she could be the one. The dialog between the two is witty and fun, a harmless flirtation. Things get more serious as Kitty visits Whiskey Ranch, meeting J.W.’s brothers and sister. I love the way Ms. Talty writes such genuine, interesting characters and unique stories that keeps you “turning the pages”. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author. (by paytonpuppy)
This story makes the reader laugh, cry, and try to guess what is going to happen next. Johnny and Kitty have given up on relationships, and they still have problems with their exes. However, Johnny and Kitty are flirty and have great chemistry. The story flows along. I enjoy the play on the whiskey names. I received a copy and I am voluntarily giving my review.
J.W. is a gentleman, a smart businessman and the best bull rider in the business. He’s a likable guy and people really look up to him until one day things change…and it is all because of a woman.
Suddenly his world is upside down and the man needs a change of scenery to clear his head. The question is where should he go. He decided to toss a dart at a map, with the intention of going wherever it sticks. Uh-ooooo!
Baltimore is a far cry from Montana and to say the boots, hat, jeans made him stand out from the locals is an understatement. To avoid the stares, he took a right turn into McCurdy’s Bar for a drink and dinner – smart move! That’s when he saw Kitty. And suddenly things started looking a whole lot better. And so the story begins.
I received a copy of the book and am voluntarily submitting an honest review. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and would not hesitate recommending it to other readers. Clearly Jen Talty knows her way around this great, second-chance story. Yep, Mission Accomplished!

This is the 3rd book I read by Jen Talty. I loved this book’s storyline. I loved the chemistry in this story. I loved JW’s character. I felt sorry for JW. I loved Kitty’s character. I loved the ending. Awesome job Ms.Talty.
It seems like the universe usually brings us what we need most right when we stop looking for it. Both JW and Kitty have some heavy emotional baggage from bad past relationships so neither one is looking for something new. Until fate brings them together, showing them possibilities they’d never imagined. This book does an excellent job of setting the stage for the ones that will come after it by showing us ‘the lay of the land’. I loved the time we spent getting to know JW and Kitty, and their friends and families. It’s not difficult to spot what the drama’s going to be, but I liked the way this pair handles it. They’re remarkably mature and talk out their differences. I’m really looking forward to seeing what the next book brings us.
This was a great read where you can’t help but love both JW and Kitty, neither were looking for love at all but after fate brings them together no matter how much they try to talk them selves out things they soon realise there is a spark. Kitty’s friend but especially her parents are hilarious and JW’s family are the delightfully meddling but supportive siblings you would love to have as your own. There were plenty of times I laughed, cringed, shook my head in dismay, wanted to shake them as well as hope that outside influences don’t ruin things for them. I can’t wait to read the next in the series!!!!
