Rancher and hockey coach Logan Rivers’ attempts to hire a housekeeper are hindered by women more interested in marriage than meal-planning. So when snarky Harper Evans arrives with zero romantic interest in him, he couldn’t be happier. But as he gets to know her, he finds himself hungering for more than her cooking.
Down-on-her-luck single mom Harper Evans came to Colorado with one goal: to find … goal: to find her son and bring him home. Temporary work for a local rancher seems perfect, but to keep the job she has to deny her feelings for the hot cowboy who’s heating up her kitchen.

Harper Evans and Logan Rivers both have trust issues, but they both find themselves in need of help- she needs a job and he needs a housekeeper after the last few women that he hired were more interested in getting into his pants then cleaning them. Although this is the 3rd in the series, it can be read as a stand alone.
The only people Harper Evans could ever count on, were her husband Michael and her paternal grandmother. After Michael was killed in an accident, Harper and their son Floyd, went to live with Nana. Nana took care of Floyd, while Harper worked, but after Nana died, without any after school care, Harper had to stay home, lost her job and couldn’t find another. Since Harper had always been good with numbers, her mother approached her to help with an accounting job that she had. But her mother was embezzling and before Harper figured it out and had time to rectify the situation, they were both arrested. While she was only an accessory to the crime, not be able to afford a lawyer, she was defended by a court assigned public defender, who didn’t defend her enough to keep her out of jail. With no one else to turn to, Harper was forced to call her mother-in-law, Judith, to come get Floyd. Three months later, Harper has been released and come from Kansas to Creedence, Colorado to get back her son, but Judith does everything she can to keep them apart.
Cowboy Logan Rivers was diagnosed with dyslexia when he was a child, but his mother, who began to hate the life on the ranch, lost her patience with all the work involved with the ranch and her son and left her children and husband. She was later killed in an accident. Despite women throwing themselves at him, he doesn’t believe that any woman will stay and therefore is surprised by his attraction to Harper, who comes to work for him. She has already told him that she is only there temporarily, but is too afraid to tell him why. They try to fight the chemistry between them, but eventually give in. Will they overcome their fears or let their past prevent them from finding love?
Engaging characters and snappy banter make this an entertaining read. I read an ARC provided by NetGalley.com. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
Logan Rivers had a problem. He needed a housekeeper and the ones applying wanted more than just to clean his house and make his meals. He didn’t want any complications, especially after he fired the last housekeeper because she wasn’t interested in housekeeping, at all. Then he met Harper Evans who needed a job and didn’t have the least bit of romantic interest in Logan.
Harper wanted to get her son back and she needed a job in order to save the money needed to provide her son with a stable home. Logan gave her the opportunity and she wasn’t going to mess that up even though she really liked what she saw in Logan.
Logan couldn’t get Harper out of his head. She was funny, sarcastic, smart and very sexy. He liked all of that but she wasn’t here to stay. She was planning to leave like every other woman had in his life. He just didn’t want to get something started to have her leave and break his heart. Was it possible to get her to stay? To choose him? Was the possibility of something wonderful worth the risk to his heart?
I really, really loved this story. I wasn’t impressed by the descriptive sex scenes because they had enough chemistry without the detailed account. This story was about redemption, forgiveness, risk, romance and love. The emotions of the characters was palpable and helped me identify with the character’s stories and bring the story to life.
I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.
Jennie Marts lights it up with Wish Upon a Cowboy. This touching book set in picturesque Montana – Logan Rivers doesn’t trust easy after his Mom left and killed when he was a little boy. Harper has had a tough go at because of her Mom. When truth comes to light these to try to find a way back to one another.
Excellent story line and characters.
The perfect holiday read full of emotion, family, friends and finding love when you least expect it. Plus, plenty of Christmas activities that will warm your heart.
Harper has arrived in Creedence for one thing, to get her son back in her custody. Logan has a need for a housekeeper/cook really quick and Hunter is the perfect fit. No romantic interest is a must, but soon their banter and friendship will turn into so much more. Until Hunter’s secret comes out and it might ruin everything.
This is a book that I could not put down. Logan and Hunter are a favorite couple of mine, loved their banter, sexual chemistry and how they helped each other out in their trust issues. There are so many laugh out moments, the marshmallow eating cow and the pie eating goat are the best.
This book is part of a series of hockey/cowboys but can be read as a stand alone, but then you will went to go back and read the rest of these hot guys!!
Wish Upon a Cowboy by Jennie Marts is book number four in the Cowboys of Creedence series. This is Logan Rivers and Harper Evans’ story.
Another great read by this author. I love the humor and intense chemistry this author brings to the story that I can’t put it down. Logan and Harper’s characters were so much fun. You can’t help but falling in love with them. A great way to escape from daily stress.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Logan and Harper are everything I’ve hoped for since book one of this series. Marts is a master at creating the perfect compliments to her characters and Harper is no exception. Their holiday romance is my favorite of this year.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.

M/F Romance
Harper is a woman who is just getting herself back together. After trusting her mom one too many times, Harper found herself having to call her mother-in-law to take her son while she had to go to jail for a few months. With a new lease on life, she has taken her last dollars to head to the town where her son is living. She wants to see him, hug him, and take him back home. But when she arrives in town, she needs a job in order to save up money to go back home.
Logan is trying to keep his family’s business running while his dad is away helping another family member. Despite his bachelor status, he isn’t looking for someone to warm his bed at the moment, which makes his housekeeper’s advances very uncomfortable. Having to fire someone he’s known for a while because she was more interested in him than doing her job was not the way he wanted to start his day.
With an introduction to Logan, Harper knows that she can do a good job. However, she is also wary of telling people her personal business. She seeks out her son, but bitterness and hatred fly out of her mother-in-law’s mouth. Harper has to decide whether or not she truly is the best for her son.
This was a super sweet story. The characters are relatable, and I really enjoyed the townspeople too. When push comes to shove, will the people side with Harper or with her ugly mother-in-law? This story was quick to read but moved along well. The characters were well developed and I liked watching Harper and Logan’s relationship build.

Ruthie –
This is the fourth book in the series, and each one gives us another cowboy’s story. Here Logan is about to find love from a most unlikely arrival into town.
Harper has had a rough time of it, yet really has no self-pity, she is just desperate to be reunited with her young son, Floyd. He is in Creedence with his paternal grandmother, Judith. Judith is not keen on Harper ever seeing her son again, which is a fairly extreme reaction to what has happened, but seriously impacts Harper’s self-esteem and her confidence. Having arrived in town and found a temp job with Logan, she cannot wait to reunite with her son. Of course, nothing really runs smoothly – but as we get both her and Logan narrating the story, we know exactly how much they are falling for each other, and how difficult that is for both of them to address.
That time with just the two of them as employee/employer gives us a good chance to see what a good person Harper really is, and what a caring, lonely soul Logan is too. The chemistry is great and there is a lovely level of banter and snark between them which really made me chuckle. It is a well-rounded story, which ties up all the slightly worrying loose ends and gives both Logan and Harper exactly what they need as well as who they want!
I really enjoyed this addition to the series, and am looking forward to Zane having a chance sometime soon (hint, hint).
