This book was a special treat, as it is written by The Magnificent Three, three superamazingfabulous authors who I fell in love with since each of their book one, and continued reading and loving their work ever since. For them to write a book together is a special gift to their fans and readers in general.
The book has a prologue narrated by a historian and an epilogue narrated by a mysterious character, giving more than a hint of a continuation, which made me incredibly happy. The book further consists of three parts, each of them narrated by one of the sisters and written by one of the authors. This was a brilliant move on the part of the authors, as the book maintains the style but gives each of the sisters a different voice. Each of the stories is fantastic on its own but together they are simply brilliant.
K.A. Knight wrote a the first story of Lorelai, Poppy Woods wrote the second story of Ligeia, and Kendra Moreno wrote the third story of Leucoisa. I have to warn you that these are not warm and fuzzy happy mermaid stories, but they are exactly how they are supposed to be, and there is no other way they could have gone considering the circumstances. Although, there are some incredibly hot and steamy scenes here to leave you breathless.
Lorelai is the first of the sisters we get to know, and she seems to be the innocent one, innocent, in the sense that she is mostly glorifying the humanity without being aware of the ugly side of it. In that sense, I find her story to be the most tragic of all, due to the disappointments she faces.
Ligeia seems to be the most aware of the three, not suffering from the false illusions about humanity. However, that does not make her journey all that much easier. Some elements of her story were too heartbreaking for words, but there is also unique beauty in the utter lack of judgement, ultimate acceptance and unconditional love she encounters.
Leucoisa is the last of the three sisters we meet and the darkest of them all. Her story is quite tragic but not unexpected at all, however, there is something quite surprising she uncovers about herself. Regardless of the overall tragedy, I must admit that I would not want the ending to be any different.
Each of the authors chose a different historical period to consider the ugly sides of humanity, be that overpopulation, poverty, abuse of natural resources, power struggles, or subjugation and abuse of other human beings, and their accounts are so depressingly realistic and painfully accurate that it was not difficult to identify with each of the sister’s emotional struggles. It is beautiful how each of them learns, grows, and evolves into their powers and roles. And regardless of what happens, their yearning to re-unite with the other two is stronger than anything. Their mutual love and bonds are incredible and beautiful to observe.
This was an amazing debut of The Magnificent Three and I certainly hope the series, as well as this collaboration will continue. I loved and devoured this book and I can’t wait to read more.
Wow, just wow. These three stories left me hungry for more. I really hope there will be a book two. I loved the stories as individuals, but even more because they were tied together as they were. Honestly, who can resist some bloodthirsty siren sisters.
Hurry up and one-click this wonderful gem. I promise hotflashes and kick butt sirens and lots of blood.
Really enjoyed the entire concept of this collaboration! The stories were all amazing and smoking hot.
Three sirens…Three authors…Three incredible stories!
Shipwreck Souls is one book but has three stories that involves three siren sisters given a task to sink their first ship as they came of age. Each sister’s story was told by different authors, namely K.A Knight, Poppy Woods and Kendra Moreno. As of now, I have only read Ms. Woods story and will update this review once I finished.
Blow Them All Down brings back to me the dark and macabre feel of which sirens were known for. Just like these sirens, the story will lure you in with its seductive premise and catch you unaware with its dark, deadly sense. Ligeia or Gia tried fulfill her destiny but unexpectedly found the “loves” she didn’t know she was searching for. The story flowed smoothly with the right amount of steam, gore and love.
Shipwreck Souls is an amazing collaboration by Kendra Moreno, Poppy Woods and K.A. Knight and I absolutely loved it! The book includes three stores about three sister sirens who have been sent out to the seas by their father Poseidon to each sink their first ship. Each is sent to a different time and place on their own with no knowledge of where they will end up. Leucoisa, Ligeia and Lorelai all have very different experiences in the human world with struggles that they have to overcome. I highly recommend this book and I can’t wait to read more about our sirens!
I thoroughly enjoyed these stories, even though their stories were from different authors it flowed so well. I laughed and cried with the sisters in each telling, I hope there will be more of them. Such a great read! I loved getting lost in the world of sirens..
I like to call this the ‘Thrilling Three-Way’…. These three authors have done an excellent job of writing a cohesive, well thought out, fantastical adventure under the sea!
This book is amazing, adventure, action, steamy, and just holds you. You take a journey under the sea, and see how they live. It is an amazing telling of what life under the sea could be like. As you follow three sisters on their adventures to claim their birth rights. Once you start you wont want to put it down. This book will make you laugh and go yuck on the same page. The three women who wrote this book have the best imagination, and can feel the love for all who read. This is a must read. I can tell you the only thing that is bad is the words the end, cause then you have to wait for the next one. Two thumbs up ladies you rock. Hope you enjoy this as much as I did.
This review is a general review for all three authors.
Three sisters. Three sirens. Forced out into the seas to sink their first ships. Only one is looking forward to it, but all three find more than they expected. I loved how strong and fierce these women were, even in situations they weren’t familiar with. Ligeia, Lucoisa, and Lorelei were not your typical FMC’s and had absolutely no problem taking fierce, bloody action. Kendra, Poppy and K.A wove these three tales (see what I did there?) together beautifully so that each author’s story had the same elements of lore, speech and world rules. For me, the biggest mystery came at the end of the first story, Lorelei’s. Initially, I was like-wait! Explain that! But the second story, Ligeia’s, expanded on the mystery and by the end of the book, I had my answer. This is a well written, full collaboration novel with an over-arcing storyline that has elements of RH, FF, FM and FFM. This book took me through a whole range of emotion from laughter to anger to hotness to sadness and back again. It was a very satisfying read. It looks like these authors aren’t done, either! There might be another three-way collaboration in this world, so grab this book cause you won’t want to miss it.
I cant believe how wonderful this book was. I was in awe that three amazing writers came together and wrote such a spectacular book. I have never read a book by multiple authors that fit together and pulled pieces into their stories better than this one did.
This story of 3 sisters spoke to me in so many ways! Each sister had and needed different things. They all complete each other. I hope there is a book 2!
This book is a collection of three short stories written by three authors. As a fan of Kendra’s Sons of Wonderland I jumped at the chance to read her new work, the fact I got to read two new authors (new to me that is) was an added bonus.
The book is split into 5 parts, a prologue, the three stories then an epilogue narrated by a mysterious narrator who I think appears in one of the books but I’m not sure with these writers :-). The epilogue was a little gem and gives us all hope that there will be more stories from the Sirens.
The three stories are one from each author:
K.A. Knight writes for Lorelai (Rory);
Poppy Woods writes for Ligeia (Gia); and
Kendra Moreno finishes with Leucoisa (Coi).
This method of storytelling ensures each story has a different vibe to it while still feeling like a ‘whole’.
These sirens are STEAMY with capital letters!
Each of the siren sisters enter a different time period and situation when they go through the “whirlies” to accomplish the task set by good old Dad aka Poseidon. If they don’t accomplish this task they can never go “home”. So off they all go to find a ship to sink…
Each of the sisters have encountered humans a little in their lives, but not much, so each of the tales shows the sisters facing some kind of horror that mankind has brought to our beautiful planet.
The plots are beautifully written and give us sirens with no inhibitions (which is how I would imagine a siren to be), they are beautiful and sex to them is natural and easy, as a result the plot gets steamy, I might have mentioned that already but it deserves a second mention. I have never read RH before so it was a bit of a shock to my system to read the sex scenes, but I cannot deny that I enjoyed them! Each sister’s journey is very different so don’t expect what happens the first to be setting the scene for the next two, oh nooooo, you just wait and read 🙂
Highly recommend!
These three stories will leave you wanting more, they are all great standalone books but are absolutely amazing all together. These three authors have a fantastic imagination and these all have great sex scenes in them and you are left wanting. The three sirens have a job to complete and they have trouble alone the way. Absolutely fantastic opportunity to read this amazing book by three amazing authors. A must read people I’m hoping for a book 2
A Beautiful Deadly and Fascinating Story!!!
We start with an interesting Prologue that sets the events in motion for our three sirens: Lorelai, Ligeia and Leucoisa. The three jewels of Atlantis must always complete their task at the time given by their father Poseidon; A siren must sing and she must sink her first ship. Is tradition and the cycle of the Sea. They must paint the seas red with the humans on board. Our girls don’t want that but have no choice, it’s the law or they will be banish. This is split into three POV’s from each of the girls once they leave for their mission. All three leave separately and the sea takes them individually to their ship. The interesting part is: they don’t know what era or time it will take them. Three unique stories take place. I loved this book so much!!! A must read!!! The authors did a brilliant job exploring different timelines with each siren once they reach the surface and then bringing it back together at the end and what an end! The possibilities are endless!!! I loved all three POV’s, but the first one stole my heart because it had the most romance! I’m corny like that. Yes, is not the typical little mermaid story with happily ever after but something more raw and real that will keep you swooning, aching, crying and on the edge of your seat!! I read this with my kindle unlimited 🙂
THESE STORIES ARE SO FREAKIN’ STUNNING!!!
I heard about a dark siren novel about three sisters that a group of authors–the wonderfully talented threesome of writers that includes Poppy Woods, Kendra Moreno, and K.A Knight–a couple months ago and was so ecstatic to get my hands on this book! I love all things sirens but haven’t read many recently so when I saw the blurb, I knew I had to read this one. Plus, Poppy, Kendra, and K.A are kick-a** authors in their own right and I adore them, so they could write about grass growing and I’d be the first person to buy that book, no questions asked.
This book contains three stories, all in the same world, that follows three sister sirens. K.A. Knight wrote a the first story of the siren sister Lorelai, Poppy Woods wrote the second with her siren Ligeia, and Kendra Moreno wrote the third and last story of the siren Leucoisa. You’d think the stories wouldn’t flow together, since there’s a different author writing their own different stories, but that’s not the case with this book. Each book was unique and darkly beautiful, while having an amazing flow that connects all three stories together in harmony. This author grouping was a match made in heaven!
Review for K.A Knight’s story (4.5 stars)
I’ve read several stories from K.A Knight and I love her style of writing. It’s so effortless and beautiful, and her novel in this book is no different. Her siren, Lor, is innocent in the sense that she has this hope in humankind that the other siren sisters didn’t have. She was a bit naive, but lovable and strong, just like her sisters. I felt this utter joy and happiness with Lor that differed from her sisters, but I loved that. Each sister had their own identity and that really came out in these stories, especially Lor’s. And I loved the ending to this story, just fit perfectly. As always, I cannot wait to read more from this amazing writer and I highly recommend!
Review for Kendra Moreno’s story: (5 stars)
I think, out of all the stories, Kendra’s story was my favorite out of the bunch. Coi’s character had to have had the darkest heart of all the sisters. I started the novel not knowing if I’d like her character, since she was a bit bloodthirsty, but by the end of the third page I was rooting for her, shouting to my kindle, “Sink that motherfreakin’ ship girl!” LOL The story took so many twists that I didn’t see coming, every character she encountered had this uniqueness which was stunning, and the ending…the ending was freakin’ fantastic!! Oh my god, it crushed me in the best of ways and that twist, that twist I didn’t see coming. Kendra crushed another amazing story! Coi was utter perfection, as was this story.
Review for Poppy Woods story (5 stars)
Stunning. Just amazingly stunning Poppy’s story was. I’ll admit, Poppy’s story was the hardest to read, but not because it was bad because her story was so amazing, just freakin’ stunning, and made my heart race until the very end. No, her story was the hardest to read because, in my opinion, it was the realest. It dealt with a lot of hard topics like: slavery, rape culture, misogyny, etc. But, although this story dealt with hard topics, it was so beautiful and I had tears–both sad and happy–throughout it. This is a story that will stay with me because it’s important, especially in this day and age, and I feel a lot of people can identity with the scenes in this book and Gia’s character as well. Poppy dealt with these topics with grace, understanding, and respect, and I have so much respect for her. You killed it Poppy! Can’t wait to read more from her in the future! Also, can we hear it for the queer rep in her story?
Overall, this book is amazing, plain and simple. One of my top favorites of the year and a book I would recommend to everyone. If you like siren books that aren’t all sweet, and that are dark and twisty–with beautiful characters and wonderful plots–than this book is for you! I can’t wait to read the next book to see what adventures the girls are going to get in. So, what are you waiting for? Dive into these stories and let’s paint the sea red!
Overall I enjoyed the storyline I love how the three authors write about the three sisters their stories are sad but they make the best of it. The things I didn’t care for was all the sex I am not a fan of reverse harem but that is just me. I believe you can have a good story without people having sex all the time.
I was given an ARC for my honest opinion
This is such an amazing collaboration by 3 really terrific authors!!
Each author telling their story of one of the 3 siren sisters who must set out into the ocean and sink a ship as their rite of passage. Each story is unique but still meshes with the others so seemlessly as a whole. Absolutely loved it!
