WHEN DESIRE BECOMES DEVOTION…As the secrets surrounding the Winthorp and Mafiya war come to light, Ellen and Mischa are forced to trust each other or risk losing themselves to the turmoil. But war comes with a terrible cost… And as new enemies and old lies begin to crawl from the wreckage, they must find a way to break the cycle… Or let the violence consume them, once and for all.
Just when you think there couldn’t possibly be any more deception, secrets, lies, backstabbing, and betrayal in Ellen/Rose and Mischa’s lives Ms. Sky proves you wrong.
Oh. My. Goodness!! This third book in the War of Roses series pulled me in and wouldn’t let go. I couldn’t put it down. I think I was holding my breath most of the time I was reading. With all that Ellen has had to endure her whole life it’s really amazing she hasn’t given up and just let death claim her before now. That’s what I love about her though. In the two previous books, we saw glimpses of the fighter she is deep down, even if she didn’t believe it about herself. In book three, I love that we get to see Ellen gain her confidence and find her strength.
Mischa has been crueler than cruel when it comes to Ellen. Like her though, in the previous two books, we got to see glimpses of the man behind the wall of paranoia he puts up with Ellen. I love the transformation we get to see of him as a man and as a lover.
Lastly, I love the development of Mouse and how she grows to trust Ellen. This book is supposed to be the last in the trilogy. However, I’m hoping there will be more to Mouse’s story and her future.
There were a few new characters introduced in this book, but I’m not going to give away any spoilers as to who they are. You’ll just have to read this for yourself to find out.
The War of Roses series is not for the faint of heart. There are scenes of unimaginable violence. However, if you enjoys these types of storylines, this series will not disappoint. I highly recommend reading all three books, but you need to read them in order.
*I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.*
Breathe….
The one word has stuck with Ellen her whole life and that is what she does as she continues to survive the nightmarish world that Lana Sky has created in the 3rd book in the War of the Roses series. She is still a pawn in Mischa’s game, coming to terms with her life at Winthrop, Robert, her father, and Briar. Secrets are uncovered as new players are introduced to the game. Who will win? Who will die as the past comes back in a vengeful way for all that is involved. Loved I (One) and how Ellen is able to rise above the horror at each and every turn. Well done Lana Sky!
I was very excited to get my hands on this book, the final chapter in the war of the roses series, and it was amazing.
I feel like i was on rollercoaster ride honestly, as the first page immediately sucked me right back in to that dark, twisted and mysterious world.
The story and the twists are amazing and your just on the edge of your seat when going through the pages.
I loved evey second while reading the book and the overall series and its a must read.
Ellen (Rose) and Mischa are back! This is the third book in this series and this one is everything I needed it to be. Ellen really comes into her own in this book. The Sheep becomes the Wolf and it is in no small part due to Mischa. He has become the character with the most growth throughout the series and that is all due to Ellen. They are each the catalyst to the other’s change and growth. I LOVED this couple!!
I read a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Let me tell you I never want to be the heroine in a Lana Sky novel She makes her characters go through some things! I’m not sure anyone wants a HEA that badly!
One is everything you expect from a Lana Sky novel. It’s dark, gritty, and edgy. It doesn’t end with a nice neat bow on top. Beautifully written, it’s nice to see Ellen become the wolf and Mischa help her along the way. I felt so bad for Ellen throughout the past two books, seeing her become strong enough to stand on her own was the crowing achievement of this book. I’d happily read more about Ellen and Mischa. He has finally grown on me, and I’m sad to see him go. Thankfully there are always rereads!!
Lana Sky has created an outstanding series. I think it’s one of her best. The final book in War of the Roses, I (One), has wonderfully crafted characters who come alive on the page, is full of twists and turns, and has a plot that keeps you on your toes to the very last page!
I felt so many emotions while reading these books, but especially this one. I wanted to jump up and down for Ellen with a fist pump, reach out and shake Mischa, cry as traumatic events unfold. Mischa helps Ellen find herself, her voice, and the confidence to make decisions necessary to try and save lives during this last book.
Will the lessons Mischa has taught be enough for her and the others to win the battle against the mafia forces working to destroy Ellen, Mischa, and their families? Have Ellen and Mischa forged a relationship strong enough to withstand the evil forces surrounding them? What sacrifices will they be willing to make to survive?
You will not be disappointed with this series! There are so many surprises in store for you in this series. I could not put them down!
I LOVED IT! Didn’t Want It To End
The intensity of words are driven straight into your mind bringing out powerful expressive outbursts and head shaking quips that are impossible to get around at every turn. Frantic daunting twists with gutt-wrenching drama that pulls and tugs at your emotions filleting you open and bare completely stunned as the force of the words burrow deeper continually adding more salt to every throbbing word as you feed off exciting adrenaline high with anticipation for the story to go one way and then stunned by another blindside being taken on a whole new ride. The chemistry is hot dark and daunting. A fantastic must read that I obsessed and thrived over and the only way I could survive the havoc it plagued me with was to just Get To The End. Now I’m sad, I didn’t want it to end., but wouldn’t change a single perfect word that has me excited to read the whole series all over again.
I have no words. Rollercoaster, lies, intrigue, intense, can’t stop reading good. If you haven’t read this series yet, you need to.
This is an incredible series…5+Stars!
I was mesmerized by this book, there is so much emotions in each of the characters. I could not put the book down from the first word to the last page. Lana has written a phenomenal series about a “Twisted game of Men and Money”, intrigue, suspense, and so many secrets. A love story that has so many facets, I was trying to figure how who were the evil ones and who were the good ones. You must read Book 1 and 2 before reading this book. You will not be disappointed. I never am with this author.
Just read 1- One-War Of The Roses…and let me tell you From Life and Death, Angst, Intrigue, Lies, and Love. This book had it ALL and then some. Something new at every turn that kept you guessing throughout the entire book. Loved it from the first page to the last. BRAVO Lana BRAVO!!!
