I purchased this book in 2019 and JUST cracked the binding. I do not know what took me so long.
This short story/novella can absolutely be read as a stand-alone, please don’t miss the “Whiskey stories” that came before this.
This is a classic second-chance romance written with humor, romance, friendship, and family. I read it in one sitting and absolutely recommend this story, this series, and this author.
What a great way to end this series. Ryan has done it again. I can’t wait to find out what’s next to come. Make sure you start this series from the beginning. You’ll be glad you did.
I thought this story was light and easy to read. The characters were interesting to read about. This story is a little different. Overall I thought it was an enjoyable read. I vouluntairy read and reviewed an Advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are of my own.
I don’t know where to begin. I hesitated soooooo much to read this book at first, because I’m not into the girl on girl thing and didn’t think I’d enjoy it much. But having read all of this author’s books, I knew she wouldn’t disappoint. Boyyy am I glad I gave it a chance.
For starters, I have loved Jen’s character through out the whole series. I wish she were a real live person cuz she would totally be my best-friend lol. Seriously though!! She’s awesome. I was hoping the author would write her very own story. And lucky for me, she did. This book was amazing. It had the right amount of angst, suspense, love, and the hilarious moments that had tears in my eyes from all the laughter. For those who have read the first 3 books in the series, then you absolutely must pick this one up. Even if you have your reservations on the while F/F romance. I promise you won’t regret it. For those who have not read the previous books, well…you definitely should but you can still read this one as a standalone. However, there will be some things you may not completely grasp.
I want to thank Ryan Ringbloom for another amazing series. She always finds a way to grab my heart and shake it up, leaving me with a huge goofy grin on my face.
Jen, Jen, Jen…do you always need to do things the hard way? This whiskey story took me by surprise. I was like WHAT???? But I seriously loved the twists it took. Jen has seen both her brothers settle down and find their happy ever after. I wanted her to find hers as well and it’s such a bumpy road for her. There is always humor in the whiskey series but the angst is definitely dialed up a bit more. What I love most in these stories are the bonds between the siblings. Family is important to them and that just makes the book all the more sweeter.
This was my first F/F read, and I have to admit, I was a little nervous, but I should’ve known to trust Ryan Ringbloom and her amazing writing because I enjoyed every word. Although technically this can be read as a standalone, I wouldn’t recommend it…you should definitely read Whiskey Trick first. And while you’re at it, read Whiskey Dick and Whiskey Chick, if you haven’t, so that you get the whole fantastically entertaining experience!
Jenn is funny, quirky and loveable, and has put her own love life on the back burner making sure her brother, Henry, finds his happily ever after. When the past comes knocking, life gets complicated, but Jenn finds love. However, secrets and lies tend to get in the way of happiness, especially when it affects the family that means everything.
Jenn’s story is emotionally intense at times. Her life and struggles are portrayed in a heartfelt and humorous way as she navigates into her new relationship, all while certain factors and family dynamics aren’t making things easy.
The added bonus scenes at the end, giving us glimpses into the futures of all the characters from the Whiskey series are fantastic!
What a fitting conclusion to the Whiskey series! I don’t want to give away too much, but Jenn’s story brought everything full circle in a way that had me feeling all the warm fuzzies for this big family and all these characters I’ve come to know and love since reading Whiskey Dick. And the bonus content at the end? Yeah. Big freaking stupid smile on my face for days after reading the last page.
