I really enjoyed All In by Kathryn Shay. It is book four in The Lucky Lady Casino series and definitely worth reading if you love romance stories centered around casinos and gambling.
Beth and Eric may struggle with their age difference, but they have more in common than they realize. They both left high paying and stressful jobs for ones that they enjoy better while also giving to the community. They both also have overbearing fathers who only see dollar signs and prestige who believe that it is their job to direct every aspect of their children’s lives.
I’m definitely looking forward to reading more books in this fun series!
I was given an ARC from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.
ARC for honest review with no compensation 4.5 stars
All In is book 4 in the Lucky Lady Casino short stories by Kathryn Shay.
Older woman, younger man have lots in common but both also gave up very lucrative careers. He wants more but the age difference but her off…except as maybe a fling…
Can Eric prove to Beth that sometimes age really isn’t a factor when love comes calling??
For me, All In is by far my favorite novella in this Lucky Casino series. I enjoyed the build up of the characters, and their interaction was believable and interesting. The plot was well defined and the conclusion flowed effortlessly. It was refreshing to not get so confused by too many added characters. The irony of two former successful people, who were trying to stay incognito yet shared similar Father figure issues, did not go unnoticed. The desire to help others without looking for accolades to succeed was an endearing quality that made the reader like Beth and Eric even more.
4th in the short stories centering around the Lucky Lady casino. This time we get some background on Eric the bartender. He’s left a very successful high profile job and his dad doesn’t agree with that decision. He’s met Beth while he’s been at work and is quite drawn to her. There’s a considerable age difference between them and she’s reluctant to get involved. But as they get to know each other they find they have a great deal in common! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my review.
ALL IN “The Lucky Lady Casino” is the 4th book of the series by Kathryn Shay. This story is about Eric & Beth. Beth is an older woman who is a patron at the lucky lady casino where Eric works as a bartender. They both left high stress professions to do something that makes them happy much to their father’s dismay. Can these two get over their difference and maybe their hang ups and find happier ever after??? Read to find out!
The fourth story of Lucky Lady Casino, this story focuses on Eric the bartender, who left his high profile job of investments and Beth, who also left her job as a well known cardiac doctor. THey both have over powering fathers. who don’t think they might the right decisions as the friendship develops the only thing that stands in their way in their age difference.
In another visit to the Lucky Lady Casino, Kathryn Shay gives us Eric and Beth’s story. Both having rebelled against abusive and controlling fathers, both are still hounded by those fathers. Add to that Beth’s fear of the age gap between her and the younger Eric, and you have a story that, while short, is gripping and intriguing. I love these shorts that are just right for a quick read yet thought-provoking enough to stay with you, and the Lucky Lady Casino stories deliver each time.
I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
We are back at the Lucky Lady Casino. As with the other stories, the author shines the spotlight on one of the characters we have met in previous books and gives us a glimpse of their lives. This time, it’s Eric’s story.
Eric Wolfe is the well liked bartender at the casino . A man who left his profession to do something he enjoyed more. Much to his father’s displeasure.
Elizabeth Sterling , a well known cardiac physician has left that life after one too many disappointments, with a new endeavor that will help those in need. Not a popular decision with her father.
While these two have made drastic career changes, and might seem very different, there is an attraction that neither can deny. But Beth is older and she views the age difference as a major obstacle.
Will they find their HEA or will these differences create barriers in their lives?
As short as the story was, it was thought provoking . What wouldI do under those circumstances? How about you?
Another enjoyable vignette in this series.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
