Do I want to spend my summer with my vicious classmates at Bloodstone University—better known as Villain Academy? No, thank you. But I’ve got to find a way to tackle my enemies before they try to destroy me again, and the trail to potential answers starts there.I’ve had it with taking the high road, though. Come at me, and you’d better believe I’ll hit you back just as hard. Maybe that’ll mean I … that’ll mean I have to tap into my dark magic instincts more than I’d ever have planned to, but I’m not letting one more person I care about get hurt.
That also means I’ve got to steer clear of the one guy I completely trust, or I might ruin his life too. With two of the other scions vying for my attention and the last shifting his campaign against me in an unexpected way, I’ve got my hands full as it is.
I can’t say whether I’ll survive everything this summer has in store. All I know for sure is it’s going to be a hot one.
Sinister Wizardry is the third book in a university-age paranormal academy series. Expect magical villainy, a tough heroine who bends to no one’s will, a dollop of steam, and a slow-burn enemies-to-lovers reverse harem romance where there’ll be no choosing required.

Royals of Villain Academy 3: Sinister Wizardry
Eva Chase 5 Stars
For a summer term at Villain Academy a lot of stuff went down. Rory decides to attend the summer term. She does her best to stay away from the trouble makers. Jude and Connar has her back and everyone knows it now. The relationship between Rory, Connar, and Jude get steamy. An intense encounter between Rory and Malcolm changes things for Malcolm. He has finally seen the error of his ways. The ending shocked the crap out of me. Did not see that coming. Huge twist. Oh, the ending is a huge cliffhanger.
•••••• I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book/series! ••••••
~~ I was given an advanced readers copy (ARC) of this book, this is my honest opinion. ~~
Rory has survived the academy so far. What will happen this summer?
This is the third book in the Royals of Villain Academy. I am still going strong with this series and I keep getting pulled in. I enjoyed this book a lot. There was a change in dynamics between the scions. The spice heated up more than usual.
Rory is still staying strong and not giving up. She has more challenges thrown her way and she solves them all. She is truly a remarkable character that I won’t ever forget. I really can’t wait to see her full capability.
Connar, Jude, Declan, and Malcolm all finally took pieces of my hearts with them. I loved seeing Connar and Jude stick up for Rory and then the lake scene. Whew. Why was I not expecting that? Declan had me since the last one. Then Malcolm finally softened up and I just can’t wait to see when they finally give in to one another.
I highly recommend giving this series a chance. I am and have been invested and completely entertained throughout three books now. The author has done a wonderful job with the plot, the characters, and the twist and turns. On my way to the fourth!!
Wow, Eva is not pulling any punches is she?? The bullying in this one was pretty tough from a certain scion but I think things finally clicked for Malcolm and things will start to get better for Rory (in terms of the scion relationships). I thought that lake scene was so freaking hot, but what Malcolm did after….Rory’s reaction was 100% justified and he better be groveling for a long time before she forgives him for all his crap. I think he was disgusted at himself and like I said…lightbulb moment for sure. Now in terms of the others, I am happy with the developments with Jude and Connar, like I love them so much I can’t stand it. I think they finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and realize Rory is good for them. Despite all the outside forces, I can see them being her biggest supporters in the future. I really liked the summer project idea and Rory’s idea. I enjoyed seeing more of her powers develop, see more about the world of the fearmancers and ways to go about dealing with issues/attacks/defenses/etc. I was happy to see Jude realize his mistake (that was an adorable way to make things right) and was happy to see Rory try and get back to normal with Imogen. I honestly will say I didn’t see the end coming and I immediately starting listening to Book 4 because I was shook with that cliffy haha.
In terms of narration, marvelous job. I felt the emotions from both narrators, some hitting me in the pit of my stomach and making me disgusted with people’s behaviors (drove home the point of the bullying) and some made me have to fan myself, not gonna lie . I thought the narrators did a better job with their counterpart voices (like when Meg does the male voices and Stephen does the female voices). 5/5 easily from me, now on to book 4
Another fast paced read, full of magic and intrigue that had me glued to the seat, this series is highly addictive, I can’t wait for the next book
These just keep getting more interesting. Always wondering what powers she can use next? Who/what evil is after her now? Which of the boys will she choose or more than one? They all seem either like of dislike each other but not her. They fight amongst each other about their actions and how they are family and they should just get along.
Even though this is a large cast we get to see some new people introduced. Rory has some relatives and family friends coming out of the woodwork. Rory just impresses me already fighting to good fight. No temptation….other than the boys.
I did listen to this on audio. Meg Sylvan and Stephen Dexter are always a joy to listen to.
Just when it’s…
Getting good and things are finally going well for Rory, all hell’s broken out!?! Freaking crazy ending Gotta start reading the next one! #HappyReading
I found the third book in the series moved too slowly for me. I expected something to happen quickly but no. I found our heroine to be less insightful in this book than the first two but that may be because the fourth book must be a humdinger.
I am tried of her support being torn away from her and no one noticing…these are mages after all. Buy a vowel.
Looking forward to book 4.
We dang this series gets better with each book. I especially like that the narration goes between all 5 of the main characters. Rory returns to Blood U for the summer session. The guys have taken a different turn on how they treat her. It is confusing with Malcolm as he is changing tactics but for the better. All the parents of the scions are jerks. The books ends bad and on a cliff-hanger. The next book is already out so that is a positive.
A clash of emotions! From frightening and sorrow to light hearted humor and heart touching moments. This cliffhanger will leave you gasping for breath!! Just when you think things are changing for the better, the storm comes rushing in! I’m seriously on edge waiting to see what the next book will bring us!! Huge applause to Ms. Chase for gifting us another jaw dropping edition that will tug your heart in every direction!! The pacing and plot were phenomenal!! This academy series is unparalleled and starsky stands above the crowd!! I loved this book, it completely ran away with my heart. Eva Chase is most definitely one of my forever favorite authors!! I could not love Jude or Connor more!! They are just so delicious in their desire to woo Rory! I love that the group dynamic is changing. I so wanted Rory to shake up this world and rock the scion’s foundation!! The tender moments we see from Connor in this book just make him this huge teddy bear and I seriously want to hug him!! Both he and Jude are serious contenders for book boyfriend material!! I could not part from this story for very long, I just had to read those captivating words!!!
Normally I hate bully and academy books, but this series has been wonderful.
Great Job Chick!
This series is one heck of a ride. This is the type of book that will put your emotions through the wringer. I went through a whole spectrum of emotions before the hair-pulling ending. Most of the scions are changing and Rory is the reason. I love that she is growing into her magic and it’s getting stronger and stronger. Even the barons are afraid of her to an extent. She has more information on her blood family and her grandparents are creeps. Do NOT miss this exciting addition to a wonderful series.
Entertaining storyline with a supernatural flare. Some very interesting intimacy scenes. Complex characters with various backgrounds. The story ends on a cliffhanger. It’s very easy to get sucked into this world.
Sinister Wizardry is Book 3 in the Royals of Villain Academy series. Rory is gaining in strength and confidence due to the many conflicts she has faced and has still been able to maintain her moral compass learned from childhood. Two of the other Scions, Declan and Jude, have finally come to her way of thinking. However, Malcolm ‘the butthead’ has only relented a teensy bit, but will it be enough to get any real change? Rory’s relationship with these male Scions is still very complicate. There is a huge cliffhanger ending, so be prepared. Anxious for the next book in series to see where Eva Chase is going to take Rory and the Scions. I recommend this well-written, fast-paced, page-turning, excellent character-developed series. Received an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Eva Chase is back with the third book in her really wonderful Royals of Villain Academy series. The book is Sinister Wizardry and it’s pretty darn fantastic. I love Rory, the heroine here. She’s just the kind of kick-a** and take no prisoners heroine I adore. Add in a really well written plot and overarching story arc that knows how to cook a slow-burn enemies-to-lovers reverse harem romance to perfection, and a cast of perfectly crafted characters. The result? Sheer reading pleasure. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.
Third book in the series and somehow the characters that were once not so likeable turns into more likeable characters. Lots of action and fair amount of steam…although it ends in a cliffhanger, one can’t help but turn those pages to figure out what comes next!
I am seriously so in love and completely addicted to this series so dang much. I absolutely adore Rory and the fact she won’t let anyone change her views and stands up for whats right. After the last book shes still trying to figure out what was going on with her mentor and what he knew along with learning more about how to use and strenghten her magic. Can not get enough of these books and already am so ready for the next one!!
I am loving this series! This is the third book in the “Royals of Villain Academy” and so much goes on I’m still reeling. Especially after that cliffhanger ending!
I love the magic Rory is using to fight back against the mean girls and protect her friends.
Ms. Chase has to come out with the fourth book soon so I can find out what happens!
I received an ARC from the author. This is my honest review.
The story picks right back up and we are following Miss Rory as she attends her first summer school session. With less students on campus she can take a bit of a breath…. or can she? Pushy grandparents, the mean girl group, and other various things keep popping up. Will the Scions ever come together as a group? Who knows…. I can’t wait to see what is in store for us next!!!
I was gifted an ARC and will gladly leave a voluntary review.
If you think Rory was going to get a break in this book then you are WRONG! Things do start getting better regarding her relationships with her fellow scions, however she still has to keep her wits about her. Not to mention top on her mind is learning who killed her mentor and why?!?! What doesn’t help are her money thirsty paternal grandparents and the surfacing of her bio mum’s supposed longtime best friend who is also a dreaded black suit. Who can she trust and who should she keep away from! All in all trying to keep her grades up and jumping at shadows. At least the guys are starting to see the real her and NOT what their parents are brainwashing them to think. Here’s hoping they can finally work together to find and get rid of the true evil undercurrent at work. Just my theory…I’m wondering if the joymancers were innocent of the charge of murdering her birth parents. Something else truly dark seems to be at play. Here’s hoping the younger generation figure out what’s afoot in the next chapter of this exciting series! I love Rory’s heart and spirit. How she looks out for those she loves and those that need help. All combined with immense inner strength! Three cheers for Rory!! I can’t wait for the next book, and seeing how she and the guys continue to grow!
