Asher Williams is obsessed with love. It’s probably one of the reasons he makes such a fantastic matchmaker, love guru, and romance expert. And now that he’s in college, it’s finally his turn to shine.Asher’s relationship advice column in the school newspaper is his strongest matchmaking instrument, especially when it comes to helping hopeless romantics find their soulmates. But like every heroic … soulmates.
But like every heroic quest, there are a few bumps in the road and dragons to slay.
There’s a damsel in distress Asher’s best friend thinks is a psychopath, a handsome prince Asher can’t stop drooling over, and a huge, mysterious roommate Asher can’t help but pester.
It doesn’t matter though. Nothing will stop Asher when it comes to helping people find their true love.
He’s absolutely positive everything will work out in the end.
Because love is always like a fairy tale…right?

The main romance arc spans across all three novellas. When Red Cried Wolf contains little romance but sets up for the rest of the series.

When Red Cried Wolf is a slow-burn romance with over-the-top characters, fairy tale references, ridiculous texts, and eventually, a happy ever after.

part 1 of 3
fun, sweet beginning
Asher is bright, shiny, new, and breaming over with hope and optimism. He soars through life high on being in love with love and often oblivious to the people in his life. You want to wrap him in bubble wrap and protect him from the harsh realities of life.
Asher is has a quirky view of the world. It is all rainbows, hearts, unicorns, and love. He is ready to take on college life, play matchmaker to his fellow students, and maybe fall in love himself.
If only he could figure out his roommate!
If you like romantic comedies, don’t hesitate to pick this up. It’s really funny and cute, light and fluffy, a breath of fresh air. Absolutely angst-free.
Asher is in love with love itself. He’s a romantic at heart. And he wants everyone around him happy and with hearts in their eyes. He’s very good at what he’s doing… or so he thinks. But he himself is unlucky when it comes to finding the one. He’s lonely.
Asher’s journey to finding love has began with this novella. I’d say slow-burn romance is guaranteed, coz he seems to be a liiittle bit clueless when it comes to the matters of his own heart.
I really liked it, can’t wait for book 2.
Asher Williams’ four-year college goal is to meet the guy of his dreams and fall hopelessly, madly, and foreverly in love. He wants to major in writing too, of course, because academics, but mostly he’s all about the love and romance. And, he has his advice-for-the-lovelorn column in the school newspaper to prove it. Asher is a matchmaker extraordinaire, a guru of love, if you will…for other people…but will he ever find someone of his own to cherish him for the rest of his days?
That is the question Nash Summers teases out so delightfully in When Red Cried Wolf and while the answer is still in the making, the outlook is encouraging thanks to the irresistible charm of Summers’ storytelling. There’s a lot of anticipation packed into these few pages, and I don’t think this novella could have been more tempting if it tried. The fact that Asher may not recognize what falling in love looks like for himself, since so far he’s only seen it in other people, is the perfect conundrum for the guy who considers himself The Expert in matters of the heart. He also needs to get to a point where he can see what—or who, rather—is standing right in front of him.
When Red Cried Wolf is composed of all things heartfelt and wonderful, including Asher himself. He is champagne bubbles and optimism and tenacity all wrapped up in a diehard romantic soul, and I gravitated to that from the moment he was introduced. He is addicted to romance, both fictional and real, and the best part is that he even gets his own meet-cute.
Maybe someday he’ll realize that’s what it was.
This novella is full of the promises we read romance for: characters to adore and root for, the joy of watching people stumble upon their one-and-only—even if they don’t know it yet—and the slow-burn eagerness of watching them get there, one sweet moment at a time. It is the literal definition of a feel-good read, and my need for more has been thoroughly engaged. I can’t wait to watch Asher fall for his unexpected One.
A super sweet novella with an adorable main character, his intriguing roommate, and his two friends. Asher is maybe a little bit overconfident in his matchmaking abilities, a little bit naive when it comes to love and romance, and totally oblivious to what his roommate could be to him. But he comes at the world through a golden heart and really only wants one thing: a knight in shining armour in true fairytale romance fashion.
This story was utterly charming and I can’t wait to see what Asher gets up to next.
This was a cute story. Asher was obsessed with finding love for himself and everyone around him. At nineteen, he was a self-proclaimed matchmaker and relationship adviser. Asher was also adorably clueless. I liked him.
The people in Asher’s world at college were interesting. His friends were fun, and I’m a little in love with Morgan already.
I can’t wait to see where Asher ends up at the end of his journey, since this story will be told in three parts. This first installment has me hooked!
