Jordon and Stormie have a less than stellar first meeting which makes it a little awkward when Stormie is the new teacher for Jordan’s son, Caleb. His willingness to admit his error and her kind heart go a long way to repair the damage. As important as Jordan and Stormie are to the story, Caleb is the glue holding them together. Rose Verde is excellent at bringing characters that tug at your heart and keep you totally involved in the story. Caleb will win you over and Stormie and Jordan’s budding romance is secondary to wanting the best for this little guy. Fortunately what is best for him is best for romance also. Stormie’s damaged self-image following a bad accident and less than supportive ex-boyfriend and Jordan’s issues following his wife’s death 3 years previous keep the two on a cautious path forward. Communication is the key to their future. I enjoyed reading this book.
Stormie and Jordan have a stormy first encounter. She is so spunky and such a loving teacher. She teaches Caleb, Jordan’s son. There is chemistry and some angst. Another good one in this series.
This was a second chance at love romance for Jordan and Stormie. Jordan lost his wife to MS and Stormie is still recovering from a car accident after she broke up with her two timing ex. They both get a second chance at love in this romance. There were plenty of trials, sweet, and funny moments. Jordan’s son Caleb is a sweetheart.
Second Shot at Love is an emotional story that will touch your heart. I really liked the main characters and how they complimented each other. Jordan Price is a doctor with a young son, Caleb. He lost his wife, Lisa three years ago and he and Caleb have now moved to a new town.
Stormie Johnson is trying to find herself. Her life has been in limbo since she had an accident. Her love for children is so evident in her relationship with Caleb when he ends up in the class she is substituting in for the remainder of the year. Stormie and Caleb are able to bond over losing a parent. It made me wonder about children I know who have lost a parent and if they received the help they needed to grieve and move on. This story showed how teachers can be an important part of that healing process.
I liked how Stormie and Jordan found not only strength in each other but strength in God. Faith was an integral part of this story and it made the story more meaningful. I also liked that it showed both of the characters returning to their faith.
I have really enjoyed this Finding Love Medical Romance series. All of the stories have been so different. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
I just love when a person finds love after losing a spouse. Especially when a child is involved. Even though the doctor is heartbroken the bond between his son and his teacher is a push in the right direction for this doctor and teacher. Things are not easy but having faith putsceverything in perspective. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Second Shot at Love is a clean, medical romance. Stormie and Jordan are both very likable characters. Jordan’s son, Caleb, adds depth to both of the well-developed main characters. I enjoyed reading about Jordan’s interesting ER cases and about Stormie’s research for her master’s thesis. Their faith walk was of interest to me as well, although I don’t hold with one of the teachings myself. The plot had some twists and turns and moves along at a good pace. The dialogue felt natural. There’s a great HEA and a wonderful epilogue. I would recommend this to readers of clean/wholesome romance and to readers of Christian romance. I received an ARC. I chose to write a review and share my opinion.
We all have struggles. Jordon & Stormi are no exception though their issues are a little exceptional. How you ask? Well you have to read the story to find out. It’s another sweet story by Ms Verde. She is among my favorite authors. There is an HEA. This is my honest, happy, voluntary review.
Stormie, usually doesn’t live up to her name; she usually avoids things instead of storming ahead to face them. However, once someone lights the fuse beneath her, she goes in guns blazing, in her own sweet way.
Dr. Jordan Price just wants to get parked and spend what time he has left of an evening with his son. However, when confronted by the ire of his neighbor, trying to claim “his parking spot”, he can’t help but notice how cute she is. He hasn’t noticed anyone since his wife died, three years ago.
When this storming neighbor not only turns out to be correct about the parking spot, but also the teacher who brings a smile to his son’s face, she is worth a second look.
I enjoyed this book of patient love and healing.
It lost half a star in my book for stretching just a little long in the middle. Otherwise a beautiful and inspirational story.
I received this book as an Advanced Reading Copy and am leaving this review voluntarily.
Second Shot at Love is another outstanding romance from Rose Verde. Stormie, a beloved teacher, thinks she is broken. She was abandoned by her mother and jilted by her fiance. Jordan, a way too busy ER doctor, mourns the death of his wife and worries about being there for his son. This sweet, faith based romance is a chance for both of them to heal. I was drawn in on page one and could not put the book down.
The story is well written with Scripture and faith naturally woven in to it.
The characters seem realistic as do their actions––the senseless and the inspired ones!
Love and faith triumph over fear, with a little nudging from friends and family.
Stormie is a child teacher, with a heart broken and doesn’t trust people.
Jordan is a busy ER doctor at St.Dominique Hospital, new in the city, in North Carolina.
both struggle with the life and people. they must learn to trust again and perhaps love again.
nice say “Love fiercely. Forgive quickly and leave the rest in the hands of the Amighty. He knows best.”
In Second Shot at Love Rose gracefully handles the issues of physical and emotional scars as well as loss of a loved one.
There are lessons to be learned as we see Stormie struggle with her insecurities. Her mother abandoned her, and her fiancé left her due to issues related to a car accident.
She struggles between her desire to hide behind a wall of protection and deep-seated desire for love.
Jordan is pulled in different directions by his unexpected attraction to Stormie, his protective love for his son Caleb, and grief for his late wife.
We are drawn into his emotions, as he struggles to find balance and closure so he can move on with his life.
This is a great love story written with insight, and well worth the time to read.
I received an ARC courtesy of the author and this is my honest review.
Have you ever lost your temper and later had to face the person in a professional capacity? In Second Shot At Love, the fifth book in the Finding Love Romance Series by Rose Verde, this is exactly what happens. Dr. Jordan Price and Stormie Johnson, next door neighbors, get in a disagreement about parking places. The embarrassment comes when Jordan is enrolling his son in a new school and the third grade teacher is Stormie. As the book continues, it is full of fun, romance, a very smart child, and God fearing people. There is also, hurt, despair and medical emergencies. I really enjoyed the story. It is well written and I liked how the characters dealt with everything. As this is a Rose Verde book, it is a Christian based romance with a HEA ending.
An interesting story that captured my attention & held onto it. Humor & sweetness combine as the characters come alive and the story builds. The medical backdrop adds another layer to the story as the author makes the scenes easy to understand without bogging down the flow of the story. The Christian flavor is well done as the characters simply live their beliefs through all that comes their way. Without sermons, we see them considering and making their choices as their lives unfold.
This is the second book that I have read by this author & I will be watching for more.
I received an ARC of this title and willingly leave my impressions of it.
