K.C. Wells takes us on quite a journey in the fourth book of her Personal series, Personal Challenges! The icing on the cake of a fantastic series, all three couples face an obstacle which tests them. Issues relevant in our society today, Ms. Wells handles each one of them with the sensitivity and insight I’ve learned to expect from her.
The entire series is performed by Cornell Collins who does a spectacular job. This is a very diverse cast, and alternating between all six men (plus all the supporting characters) is an amazing feat. Mr. Collins truly captures K.C. Wells’ spectacular sense of humor, and his emotion during the heavy scenes left me speechless. Honest to god, shivers up my spine… simply lovely.
BONUS: The entire Personal series is available bundled in one volume, and it’s whispersynced.
We get to revisit all three couples in this final story. Will and Blake seem to have the perfect life with their two children, whom they love intensely. Sadly, their newborn baby son faces some health issues that are not easily solved. Their worry for little Nathan was heart-wrenching and difficult to read. It’s easy to relate to the desperation of parents who just want what’s best for their child and want to protect them from any and all threats and cares. Sadly, that’s not always as easy as we’d like it to be. Rick and Angelo are mostly focused on trying to arrange their wedding, with a lot of well-meaning interference from Angelo’s mother, which at some point is more a hindrance than a help. Diplomacy is key, but they find a way, and Angelo’s mom continues to be a source of support and love in the face of the disapproval of some of Angelo’s very catholic relatives. Ed and Colin have a rough road ahead when someone from Colin’s past reaches out unexpectedly. Colin discovers new, painful things about this past relationship. As he tries to make his peace with these new revelations and be there for his former lover, things get incredibly emotional. I cried some ugly tears as this played out. Ed is the best, as always, absolutely amazing in how he supports Colin. His love for Colin is such a pure and powerful thing, incredibly moving. The book ends on a high note with wedding bells for Angelo and Rick. I adored their wedding! Can’t say more than that without ruining the surprise. But it was just … everything!

First book is Blake and Wills story, Blake was in the closet, running his father’s business Trinity Publishing, but still under the watchful eye of his father. Blake uses an escort agency to keep his urges at bay and to make sure no one (his father) finds out he’s gay. Then he meets Will. Blake is being blackmailed when someone finds out about Will, will Blake jepodise everything for a fling.
A new couple. Rick works for Blake at Trinity Publishing. Rick was known for sleeping around but suddenly he realises that he wants more. He meets someone and things aren’t quite what they seem and he ends up hurt, then he meets Angelo, will he be his happy ever after. Lots of angst, attempted rape and a gay bashing.
We meet Will and Blake again, its Wills birthday, plus a new member to the family that we haven’t met before, great excitement.
The next story is of office manager Ed. and Colin his rugby playing friend, but Colin has fancied Ed for a while. Will Ed, who’s straight, see Colin as anything but a friend. We also keep updated with the comings and goings of Will and Blake.
We then follow the three couples over the years and their families, jobs, deaths, weddings and children. Thier lives are all linked and well written, you feel like you personally know these people. A well written series and a joy to read/listen to.
I have to start off by saying that we haven’t read a lot of books in this gene but so far out of the authors I have read Ms Wells is one of my favorites. This author creates amazing characters that you just can’t help but fall in love with.
This was a very enjoyable read with yet again an cast of amazing characters. In this story the author caught up on all the lives of her current characters in the here and now.I loved that part.
Blake and Will .I loved hearing what was going on in their lives with their children Nathan and Sophie and how Will and Blake are dealing with their current set back concerning Nathans health. In this relationship Will is my favorite character he is just so sweet and kind to everyone.I like that he is the one that is the emotional one in his relationship with Blake .He not only worries and puts his family first but constantly worries about his friends being happy in their relationships as well. With Will he considers them family and never likes to see them unhappy and moves heaven an earth if they to change all that.
I love Will and Blake they make an amazing couple. They have amazing chemistry a healthy sex life thats fun and playful and they are so in love it just so sweet.
Then we have Rick and Angelo prepping for their wedding and dealing with the mom from hell who just keeps butting in and making it the wedding from hell instead.Taking control back of their wedding and trying to appease moms feeling is not and easy task.
Rick and Angelo another amazing couple that are so in love. They have had so many ups and downs in their relationship but now its time for marriage and children to complete their happiness. What and amazing wedding these two are going to have just love them.
Colin and Ed in this story had so many surprises some amazing an others not so.I love this couple as they are just amazing together and so in love and still amaze me that they still seem to surprise one another.
Another fantastic read.A page turner from beginning to end and we could not put it down. One of favorite things I loved about this story and its series is that Blake and Will acted like the parents in their little family and I am not talking about Sophie and Nathan. Will and Blake hover and worry about Ed and Colin and Angelo and Rick .All these males look to Blake and Will for guidance and support and advice whenever they feel that they are not coping or unhappy.Blake is the voice of reason. Will is the one who acts like the mother hen.Its just so cute to see but not only that it is a collective group that truly loves one another.
A great cast of interesting characters that we loved reading about who all had amazing chemistry ,great sex, amazing friends along with the trials and tribulations that go along with being a gay male in today society.Another emotional tale we could not help but love.Well done another keeper.
