When a dressmaker who values beauty tangles with a liveryman who condemns vanity, the sparks begin to fly!
Jericho “J.T.” Tucker wants nothing to do with the new dressmaker in Coventry, Texas. He’s all too familiar with her kind — shallow women more devoted to fashion than true beauty. Yet, except for her well-tailored clothes, this seamstress is not at all what he expected.
Hannah Richards is …
Hannah Richards is confounded by the man who runs the livery. The unsmiling fellow riles her with his arrogant assumptions and gruff manner, while at the same time stirring her heart with unexpected acts of kindness. Which side of Jericho Tucker reflects the real man?

This is one of my favorite Western Romances. I go back and re-read it all the time. You wouldn’t think a seamstress of high-end fashion would fall for a blacksmith covered in soot, especially given how he seems to view her world as frivolous. But Karen Witemeyer makes the magic happen, and I love every page of this beautiful book.
I didn’t hate it I just found it okay. JT and Hannah both were frustrating characters and I can’t say I liked them much. The story line didn’t have much action but I did enjoy the 2 scenes it did have. I really enjoy this author and I am not sorry I read this story, I am sorry I didn’t enjoy it more.
If a book cover as beautiful as this one doesn’t make you want to read it immediately, then something must be wrong with your eyesight! Even without seeing Hannah or J.T.’s face, the connection between the two of them is evident with the frustration showing in her right hand.
This story was more than a sweet romance (although I loved that aspect …
My kind of story!
Wonderful characters to fall in love with, both the main characters and the supporting cast. Such beautiful details that make you want to meet up with them in their little town of Coventry. And who knew that mason jars could be so romantic. Loved every bit of it and would highly recommend this fun and inspirational love story!
Amazing!! I love Karen’s wit and charm that her heroines possess!! I love the lessons taught in a heart-warming, ‘comfortable’ way 😉
Her characters are so realistic and wholly their own person they sound and present themselves to be so real! The plot is adorable with twists thrown in.
I highly recommend. You must read this book!!
*Warning! …
Sweet story with some laughs.
I enjoyed this book a lot. There was almost constant conflict through the book. The characters are realistic though interesting. The story moves at a satisfying pace.
The main character taught me a lesson about determination and perseverance by the way she overcame her obstacles. She just never gave up.
I loved this book and this author!! This is a lovely story, and the characters are extremely likeable!
This is a clean Christian romance novel set in 1881 Texas.
A new woman moves to town as a fancy dressmaker. The livery owner across the street is selfless, but doesn’t believe in fancy clothes. He thinks people should be looking on the outside, not judging people by their clothes and tempting those who cannot afford them. He has lot of prejudices …
