AHOY MATEY! SET SAIL FOR HIGH SEAS ADVENTURE AND ROMANCE!!
Wow!!!!! I’ve read a few pirate romances over the years , and this , my first in quite some time , and by a new author for me, was dine exceptionally well! Right down to words called from the captain to his crew were spot on !
Chloe Flowers book will have you giggle at the twins ( they were kidnapped, you see) as they antagonize Capt Gampo ( boo- villian) , laugh at Stevie’s ruse to deter her crew from being shanghied with her ” liquid illness ” ( shudder , they did better than I would have) and root for the budding romance between Capt Conal O’Brien and Stevie despite their unprecedented meeting…he in a bath, she in men’s garb pointing a gun at him as she commandeer a his ship , the Seeker.
Omg , it was so good ! And you can’t not want to read till the end non-stop just to see what happens next with any of the characters. Even the lesser side characters are quite good!
I LOVED THIS BOOK IMMENSELY!!!
I thank you for this amazing reading adventure !
I recieved a copy of this ARC and this is my honest review freely given!
Chloe Flowers
Captain Drago Gampionetti had been a pirate and was now a privateer. He was known for his iron fist and the loyalty of his men.
Eva Trudeau was an orphan who had been exploited and then maimed by an evil man when she was a young girl. She hid in the convent and behind a veil to hide her scars. I won’t give away the story but suffice it to say it was an epic drama, including part of the Battle of New Orleans and the pirate Jean Lafitte. The story starts in Jamaica and ends in New Orleans. I love Eva and Drago’s story. In fact, I lost a good bit of sleep in trying to finish the book before work.
This is the cleaner version of this author’s books in this series, which I would prefer to read. I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this series. I haven’t read many tales of pirates, but this one has me hooked. It’s the type of stuff that grabs you and makes you keep reading. They’re emotionally satisfying yet not heavy.
I love the characters – they’re warm and funny and real. They drew me into their lives as I experienced their emotions. Often on the edge of my seat, or flying high with joy, or in utter fear, I lived the story with them. I rejoiced when they overcame obstacles and personal insecurities.
Chloe’s writing is beautiful: descriptive and flowing. Although this is book four in the series, it could be a standalone. However, you’ll be richer if you’re able to read them all. I’m happy to recommend them.
-3.5 Stars-
What’s not to like about this premise? Lady pirates, charming rogues, outwitting the royal navy, rescuing family, and finding treasure. Unfortunately, it just felt like too much to fit into one book. I liked the characters, but I didn’t connect with the leads or their romance like I hoped I would. Things felt too rushed between them, though I tend to prefer romances that are slow burn and it just may not be my cup of tea. But there were plenty of things to enjoy about the book, romance aside. The treasure hunt sparked by Anne Bonny’s letters inserted at the start of each chapter was interesting, and the sections focused on Gampo’s time with the twins were my favorite parts of the whole book.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

WHEN….the kidnapped kids have the pirate doing THEIR bidding!
Delightful pirate story—not at all what I expected! Many twists and turns with delightful characters. Yes, there is a kidnapping of twin 8 year olds, but it turned out to be as much an adventure for the kidnapper as the kids! A dedicated big sister comes to their rescue, which is another delightful story. The author has knitted these 2 related tales into an entertaining tale that will make you chuckle and keep the pages turning.
I received a free copy of the book. My review is voluntary. I have no financial relationship with either the author or the publisher.
The Sauvage family had found a lot of old letters from a famous pirate leading them to her treasures. famous pirate. Stevie Sauvage and her family are desperate to get back her twin eight year old siblings who were ta
ken by a villinous pirate name Gampo. He demands they bring him a ship in order for him to release the twins and leaves them with one of his men to make the journey to Jamaica.
There is nothing like a story involving pirates on the high seas, although Stevie was not really a pirate herself. But she took the lead when they boarded and took over a ship. Captain Conal O’Brien never expected his ship to be taken over by a group of people who try to appear as pirates, but it is apparent they are not. Held at gunpoint by a lad pointing a pistol at him he soon realizes it is a woman.
A fun story filled with everything needed to hold my attention until the last page. Hidden treasure, a sigh worthy Captain, romance and twist and turns that happen on their journey. An amazing cast of characters created by the author and at the beginning of each chapter one of the letters they found.
Would definitely recommend this one!!
The Sauvage bunch were forced into an adventure that seemed beyond their abilities, but life give us surprises. Feeling guilty about the situation his family was in, Stevie seemed not to believe what fate seemed to offer her. Captain Conal O’Brien did not believe in love but his encounter with the little rabbit brought other ideas to his heart. Liked the amusing situations, the characters, the plot development and the way the author added the letters in the chapters. This was the first book I read in the Pirates & Petticoats series and enjoyed the interesting and entertaining descriptions and narrations that kept my attention. Adventure, suspense, fun situations, witty characters, romance and passion.

Captain Conal O’Brien’s Seeker has just been overrun by the most unlikely band of pirates to sail the seas. When he discovers that they work for his sworn enemy Captain Gampo, he develops a scheme of his own. But these brigands aren’t who they seem to be, and if Conal’s not careful, he’s going to lose his heart as well as his ship to a lady pirate determined to possess both.
She’s not a real pirate, but if she’s going to save her eight year old twin siblings Jacqueline & Julien, she’d better act the part. Stevie Sauvage is on a quest to find a hidden family treasure after their home & business in New Orleans burnt to the ground.
Pirates, hidden treasure, misunderstandings & romance just what I love in a book & this book has them all. A well paced story that at times had me on the edge of my seat. The characters had depth & whilst I really liked Conal & Stevie it was the twins especially Jacqueline who were the stars of the book & how they wrapped Drago round their little fingers was a delight. I also loved that characters from earlier books made an appearance. This book could be read on its own but the whole series is really good
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
When is a pirate not a pirate?
This story has so many twists that it will make your head swim and it was so entertaining. Steal a ship, rescue and find love one, find a treasure, danger, action and love all mixed together in this pirate story. This fast-paced charmer was so much fun to read I loved the interaction between all the characters. I highly recommend you check this one out! I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
