Holy shiznet!!! This story is gr8. Alyssa, a nerd, who helps the government cover up problems. Since the vampires took control of Seattle, and then lost it back to the US, there’s a lot of covering up needed. Alyssa bumps into Dante, a vampire, even after not really believing that vampires are real. She eventually ends up accidentally getting bonded to Dante. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up
We first met our Hero, Dante, in Blood Price, the first book in the series. In this next installment, a civilian and our heroine, Alissa, is hired by the government to create a plausible explanation about the “vampire” uprising in Seattle so the rest of the country doesn’t panic. She’s not aware that vampires or real until she accidentally meets Dante and he demonstrates his quick speed in front of her. Alissa seems to keep finding herself in the wrong place at the right (?) time when she ends up rescuing a young female vampire, Cora, further entrenching her into the paranormal life she’s trying to keep at arm’s length. Cora ends up bringing her face-to-face with Dante again, which also brings danger to her door. Circumstances keep bringing these two together even though Alissa tries to fight the supernatural bonding and the earthly feelings she has towards Dante. Though their love story is a bit non-traditional, the feelings they share transcend the normal and paranormal realms to create a comfortable blending of the two.
Blood Bond brings back Dante from book one of the New Breed series. This sexy, engrossing paranormal romance pairs him up with Alyssa, the human woman hired to cover up the existence of the aliens from Vopura that invaded Seattle. This entertaining story has strong characters, action, and steamy romantic scenes. I love forceful dominant male characters and this author always delivers those whether she’s writing as Mallory Crowe or Melody Raven. Ditto for the smart, self-sufficient female characters. I enjoyed this book very much and can’t wait for the next one. 4.5 stars.
I am voluntarily reviewing an advance reader copy of this book.
This is the second book in the New Breed series. This book focuses mainly on Alissa and Dante. A new portal is discovered and they now have two kinds of vampires here. Alissa a (fixer) is now given the job of spreading the propaganda and conspiracy theory’s to control the situation. She also finds herself accidentally bonded with a Vopura Dante, now she must figure out what to do with him. The story was fast paced and enjoyable. Dante daughter Cora was enjoyable as well. I’m left feeling anxious for the next book to see what will happen. I received an ARC of this book from the author. This review is my honest opinion and voluntary.
A Sexy, Overprotective Vopura vs Bigoted Human Higher-Ups!!
Dante, from book #1, is the lead character in this book & what a sexy Alpha Vamp/Vopura he is! He’s got a past, that in the Human world, is shameful for its brutality & status seeking. On his home world he was actually pretty tame compared to many of his high station!! He had a secret we didn’t know about before, it was the reason he so obedient to their Vopura leader!
Alyssa is a truth hider by trade. She uses her laptop, online skills & connections to plant false stories as ‘cover ups’ for Celebrities & Governments alike, to hide what ever the truth really was! (It’s dirty work but someone has to do it.) She agrees to do a Top Secret assignment for the Army, through a friend of hers – Joshua Park. Once she finds out its about what’s been happening in Seattle she’s excited until she learns the truth & then she’s just terrified!!
On her way back from a grocery run she sees what she thinks is a group of men setting light to a dog She stops her jeep, gets her gun & goes to rescue it. It’s not a dog though – it’s a child!! She’s terrified but does the right thing & gets the child into her jeep & her new home. From then on her life is on the line constantly and her view of humanity is shaken!!
The race is on for the ‘good guys’ to rescue the child when she’s kidnapped by forces within their own Armed Forces!! Who can be trusted now? Are the girls Parents alive? Will Alyssa ever get to see the brave little girl again? And who are the barbarians now? The left over invading Vopura helping find her? The Vampires that have lived here for Centuries? Or the Humans that took her?
Sexy times are had when Dante & Alyssa accidentally share blood – nudge nudge Sparks fly between these two from the start though – They’re a combustible combination that’s for sure!
Another unmissable read in this new series!!

This series is really cool
4,25 stars
I think that is the first time I read a single dad romance by this author, and I really enjoyed it.
Dante, a Vopura who came to Earth in a supernatural gate with all his people, is now running not only for his life, but also for his daughter’s.
After the siege was broken in the first book (Blood Price), a hunting started, and he saw himself forced to become an ally to both humans and vampires, all in order to survive and save his daughter.
But for that he had an unexpected helper, a human, no less, working for the government but also willing to risk her own life to save a vopura little girl.
Facing all kinds of dangers, they end up starting a bonding process accidentally. But what started as a surprise, ends up as a beginning of a family.
Really cool story.
What a great story with really interesting main characters. And I am including Cora the little girl that Alissa rescues. That little girl pulls her into more than she could have ever imagined.
Alissa was my kind of heroine. Sassy, unique, smart and not conventional at all. She would much rather work with her computers than deal one-on-one with people. Usually the people were the things that gave her the most headaches and this time will be no different. Well, there is a difference in that she ends up interacting with beings that she had no idea existed.
Dante had done some pretty heinous things during his term as a General in Seattle. But there was also so much more to him. It also made for some interesting interactions between him and Alissa.
There is plenty of danger, action, rescues, and emotions. All of that kept my attention all the way through. Never a dull moment. There were also some good secondary people in the story. One of them being Talon. At first I wasn’t even sure what category he really fit into.
There will of course be sex because didn’t we hear something about Alissa and Dante getting bonded?
And what a great cover for this eBook, right?
I liked how the story ended and the quick look into the next book. It’s called, ” Blood Cure” and follows more of Talon’s unexpected life threatening danger. Sounds pretty good too and I can’t wait to get my hands on it.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a ARC of this book. All of the thoughts and opinions are my own.
