Top 5 reasons I should stay away from Crispin Dalton:1. He’s been bullying me since the day I started at Wildwood Academy, the prestigious high school for young elites2. He’s the kind of jerk who thinks liking a girl means tugging on her hair (seriously, is this first grade?)3. There’s a scandal tying our families together in the most awful way, and his whole family hates me because of it4. He’s … hates me because of it
4. He’s so far out of my league, he might as well be wearing a sign that says ‘Don’t look, touch or fantasize about me… or else’
5. He’s kind of, sort of, dating my best friend…
We’ve come a long way since being co-stars on my TV show. The boy I used to crush on obsessively isn’t the nice guy anymore.
No, he’s the mean, cruel, evil bully who’s dead set on ruining my life. And to top it all off, he’s more off-limits than he ever has been.
So, obviously, I shouldn’t be crushing on Crispin, because he isn’t the boy he used to be.
No, no, no… he’s even hotter now.
And as it turns out, little old me can’t resist a bully with a heart of gold.
This is a full-length novel, part of the Lords of Wildwood series. Can be read as a standalone.

Boys that Tease had me hooked from the very first page!
Tinsley and Crispin’s story is filled with angst, heartbreak, mystery, and is extremely hard to stop reading once you have started, because you just NEED to know what is going to happen next.
Crispin and Tinsley both worked together on a TV show when they were younger, but a scandal ruined everything for them. After all that happened, Crispin is out for revenge, and Tinsley is perfectly in his site. He finally finds a way to release his anger, and Tinsley has no idea what was coming for her.
I could barely put this book down. It isn’t just a bully romance. No. This story has everything. Suspense, mystery, anger, stress…but it also offers a chance to see long lasting love, strength, and bravery.
It demonstrates that there is truth behind the saying “If you love someone/someone, let it go. If they come back to you, they’re yours forever”.
Give this book a chance, because by the end, you will be thanking yourself that you didn’t allow yourself to miss out on something so great!
Crispin and Tinsley should not want one another and everything in their lives is telling them the can not be together, but the heart wants what it wants. Tinsley is starting fresh after a scandal shocked her world and left her a social pariah. Crispin is the typical bully bad boy that is dealing with the fallout in his own life. When Tinsley starts at Wildwood Academy she just wants to get through her senior year and move on however Crispin has other plans for her. These two are absolutely combustible and the angst is palpable when they are together. When they finally give in and decide to be together it is perfection and I really didn’t want the book to end. The mysteries surrounding the story were fabulous and definitely keep you guessing until the end. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series. Fabulous book!

TWISTED with Pain Stabbing Emotions!
A cruel sick joke praying I was dreaming that I desperately wanted to wake up from as powerful words stuck every fiber of my being inflicting pain stabbing wounds on my heart that where impossible to shake and more damming to comprehend as an ugly heavy sadness weighed on me throughout this gripping read. Hot intense chemistry, bullying, betrayal, head reeling twists, impacting emotions and impossible to put down. A definite must read that does not play nice and enjoys inflicting pain to your heart. Sad to say but I Fricken Loved It!
Boys That Tease, the first installment of the Lords of Wildwood by Betti Rosewood is a fantastic start to the series.
Crispin Dalton and Tinsley Sullivan, worked together as co stars. After a scandal, Tinsley wants a normal life and starts at Wildwood Academy, where Crispin lords over everyone.
Crispin is determined to make Tinsley’s life hell and after what happened, who could blame him. Will Tinsley let him or will she fight back? Will Crispin be able to keep his bad boy act going or will his underlying feelings begin to show?
The drama, the angst and the chemistry between Crispin and Tinsley all through this young adult romance kept me reading to find out how their story would end.
A super start to what I think will be a wonderful series if this first book is anything to go by. Tinsley and Crispin work together on a tv show until something happens and everything goes to pot. There is definitely a deep connection between the two and when she starts at the private school which Crispin attends she is bullied. Crispin the cad starts to date her best friend which adds to Tinsley’s sadness. Plenty of twists and turns and mystery to keep you interested and plenty of other characters who I presume will be in the other books.

Boys That Tease was a new experience for me. I found it brilliantly disturbing as it explored a number of issues surrounding the lives of privileged teenagers on their journey through high school.
I really wanted to hate this book because of this. However, there were many twists and turns and it was easy to see there was more going on than what was immediately apparent.
Some of the issues these young adults faced was horrifically true to life and got me wondering how much ‘truth’ it really uncovers.
Betti Rosewood has effectively intrigued me so much, I need to discover what this whole story will be once everything is uncovered.
‘Authors That Tease’ should be Betti’s new tag line!
Bring on the rest of the ‘Boys’!
I loved Crispin and Tinsley. I waited so eagerly for this book. It exceeded my expectations. The angst and the drama of everything just consumed me. And the things that Tinsley went through, the message that was sent across with that, it really spoke to me. It’s electric, captivating, heartbreaking, beautiful, and intense. It kept me addicted from beginning to end. I can’t wait for the rest of the books in #LordsofWildwood series!
The trope of spring 2019 is definitely bully high school romances. I thought Boys That Tease would be right up my alley! I mean, look at this list:
-spoiled rich kids
-hot bully boy that used to be nice
-secrets, Hollywood style
Unfortunately, Boys That Tease didn’t work for me. The entire cast of characters sounded and acted juvenile and immature (even considering their age). Tinsley was sweet and adorable. As someone who had acted in television shows since she was a child, it was unfathomable how trusting and naive she was. Could she really not see Estella’s true feelings or motives?
And Crispin (aka best nickname ever, Crispy). His motive for bullying Tinsley is weak and ridiculous. He blew very hot and cold, making it hard to understand his intentions and reasons.
Wish there was a little more explanation to the mystery surrounding the Lords of Wildwood, as that could have helped to pull everything together. Overall, Boys That Tease wasn’t the dark bully themed book I was expecting, but more of an angsty young adult novel. Decent story if you know what to expect!
A great new series by a favorite author under a new pen name! Tinsley was a child star in her own serial and Crispin had for a short time been a love interest on the show, which was directed by his father. It all came to an end as the ninth season finished and a scandal broke out between Crispin’s father and Tinsley’s mother. After summer break, Tinsley starts school for the first time as a senior at the exclusive Wildwood High, where Crispin is LaCross star and an excellent student loved by teachers and students. In my opinion he has a lot of maturing to do emotionally! You will enjoy all the teen angst and joys, friendships and jealousies, love and hate acted out, portrayed in this book. It will remind you of the scholars and geeks, athletes and artists, wall flowers and cheer leaders you went to high school with. Recommended!
Boys That Tease is a slow burn, high school bully romance that will keep you entertained until the very end. This book involves the usual high school drama of teasing, bullying, crushes, testing friendships, and jealousy, but it is so much more than that. There are family dynamics at play and some sensitive subject material is incorporated into the storyline as well. The characters in the book definitely have the mindset, the interests, and the maturity level of teenagers so I would consider this to be more of an older YA/NA romance.
This is the story of Tinsley and Crispin – two teens whose families were destroyed by scandal, but who are drawn towards each other like magnets. Tinsley is a disgraced child star who started high school for the first time as a senior at Wildwood Academy. I found it heartbreaking that in the aftermath of the scandal, it was Tinsley who got blamed and bullied. I loved how she never backed down when it came to the teasing, but for someone who grew up in as a child star, she seemed pretty naive and dense when it came to her “best friend”. Crispin is the popular kid at school and my heart hurt for him given how he was being pulled in different directions with his family members, his feelings towards Tinsley, and Estrella. I liked the two of them together and I enjoyed watching how things played out.
The secondary characters are also what make the book so entertaining. I adored Andromeda and her quirkiness (I hope she gets her own book!). Estella is the ultimate mean girl and while I couldn’t find any redeeming qualities in this self-centered teen, I am curious about her backstory.
Boys That Tease is book 1 in the Lords of Wildwood series and while Crispin and Tinsley get their HEA, there is a little bit of a mystery that I am sure will be slowly revealed in the rest of the books. Overall, I enjoyed this Boys That Tease in that it had an interesting storyline, had well-developed characters, and it moved at a good pace.
Young love, misleading advice, and superficial friendships creates a chaotic environment at Wildwood High! This story envelops you from the beginning. Crispin is sweet, caring with a sexy, dirty bad boy side. Tinsley is the girl next door, everyone’s friend and takes no crap from anyone.
Wildwood High is a place with secrets buried deep within its brick bones. A preppy school that prides itself in bringing the smartest, talented and richest students inside its doors. I liked that this story didn’t stick with the stereotypical popular kids are the best, smart kids are the losers. The story incorporates both smart, popular, athletic, rich and poor. There’s no judgement on whether you are on the wrong side of the tracks.
However, between misinformed love advice and deceiving friends you are taken on a trip of twist and turns and many questions left unanswered. It’s a quick and intriguing read that sweeps you away. I can’t wait for the next one in the series!
I received and ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This first book in a new series is full of high school teenage angst, petty jealousies, friendship, and romance. I loved the concept of a teenage TV star and the accompanying stresses and strains of stardom. In some ways I would have loved the theme to continue throughout the book.
That being said the author has created an intriguing group of characters who are an interesting mix of good, bad and downright wicked. Tinsley’s struggle to move from the spotlight to a face in the crowd is wonderfully portrayed although at times she was far too naive and trusting. Crispin is perfect boyfriend material in so many ways but his conflicted feelings for Tinsley were frustrating at times.
This was a skilfully written opening story to what promises to be an addictive and fascinating series…I received an advanced copy of this book from the author.
This is a great story about high school and the way that teenagers interact. Crispin and Tinsley have always known they were meant to be together, but family dynamics and jealousy kept them apart. Not everything is explained in this book but there is a very happy ending and the promise of more to come. If you like YA this is the book for you.
I have loved everything I’ve read under this author’s other pen names, so I snapped this up as soon as I got the chance. I didn’t even slow down to read the blurb. And that’s on me. Because I don’t like bullies. I don’t like reading about them as a hero. There’s nothing heroic about a bully. I was bullied in school which made reading this an unpleasant experience for just about the entire first half of the book. It got better. I loved seeing Tinsley and Crispin together. When they were good, they were so very good together. But when they were bad, they were truly horrid. And the girls they attend school with make the Mean Girls look like fluffy little kittens. Will I read the next book? I don’t know yet. I’m curious to find out the answers I’m missing and I’m kind of dying to know how the author will manage to redeem the meanest Mean Girl of all, but these aren’t the kinds of Bad Boys I enjoy reading the most. So right now I’m pretty undecided.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book through Booksprout.
