Taming the Cowboy by Carolyne Aarsen was just as good as her previous book in the series. At first, it took me a bit to remember all the names and who was who, but after that, it was just one smooth ride (and one that hooked me after its first pages). I loved how we continue to see some of the previous characters’ stories, while also getting to know the mysterious Elliott. Of course, his meet-cute with Kinsley wouldn’t be referred by her as exactly “cute”, but I think it was a nice way to start this book with a bang 😉 of course, I enjoyed their having to work together, and working through their differences while getting to know each other (and develop some feelings for each other). I loved how they challenged each other, but also how they were perfect to balance the other one out.
Ms. Aarsen has done a fantastic job again (with the love story, characters’ development, gorgeous settings, perfect pace, and plot) and I can’t wait for her next book, and the next visit to the ranch 🙂
As always, this author gives us a Christian read with a great story-line. Little moments when Elliot makes a statement about his Mother being a great Mom; the polite and respectful way the men treat the women they care about; and, the feeling of family in this book is powerful. If you enjoy contemporary cowboys and the women who love them, this is a wonderful book for you.
Wedding planning! What could possibly go wrong.
Taming the Cowboy by Carolyne Aarsen
Family Ties Series Book Three
Elliot Tye isn’t sure where he belongs. Kane and him have a distance between them from an incident a few years ago and he feels unneeded at the ranch. He’s been torn between his birth father and Zach Tye most of his life, and he keeps pushing himself at the rodeo…thinking if he can go all the way in the championships, he’ll find what he’s searching for. And yet, he feels empty.
Kinsley Janas is planning her friend’s wedding. If she does this solo and can impress Jill, she can get a partnership into a more prestigious business. She’d hoped to do that with Drake, her ex-fiancé, but that didn’t work. Now at Tall Timber Ranch, several people had questioned her on her goals…putting doubts into her life plan.
Another story that took me on an emotional ride. And so true to life. It’s so easy to see look at another person and see things in their life…when often we are doing the same thing in our life, but are blind to it.

Loved getting to discover Elliot’s story and meeting Faith’s wedding planner friend. Both lived through terrible ordeals and now have to make life changing decisions. If you love clean stories with heart I highly recommend Taming the Cowboy.
This story grabbed me from the beginning. I love Elliot’s zest for life, yet he has a broken side that he tries to cover up. Kinsley loves beautiful things and having things under control, yet she is denying herself of what she truly wants. I love the hate relationship between the couple, but circumstances force them to be together. I enjoyed watching their relationship grow as they challenged one another. This was a sweet tender romance that touches hearts.
Kinsley and Elliott have a spark filled first meeting – actually funny. Their second meeting is an eye opener for them both. This book is a romance but so much more. They each have different hurts in their past but one thing they have is common is Are they really pursuing their dream? Love how Kinsley encourages Elliott to seek the Lord and embrace who loves him. Have really enjoyed this series.
Taming the Cowboy is another wonderful Christian romance from Carolyne Aarsen. Kinsley, Elliott and all the supporting cast are wonderful, flawed characters just going about the business of living. As Kinsley and Elliott discover, sometimes you are chasing the wrong goals – and for the wrong reason. I thoroughly enjoyed watching them grow, let lose of fear and anger and emerge as happier individuals as they follow God’s plan rather than their own. This is a well written, heart warming story that most people will enjoy.
The depth and feelings of the characters and the depth and feelings I had reading this story combined to make me want the book to never end. I felt like the Tye family and Kinsley were my friends and I could easily picture their beautiful ranch. Elliot and Kinsley were two opposites who clearly needed to be together to bring out the best in each other and to fill up the loneliness in their hearts. I enjoyed their banter and each one testing the other to follow their heart and dreams.
Kinsley was a wedding planner though that was not her heartfelt dream and Elliot was trying to please his biological father and prove he was better than him by competing in rodeos. It was nice to see them help each other out by questioning each other about what seemed to really bring them happiness. I absolutely loved how they met. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
