Love’s Truest Hope contains three captivating and action packed Amish novellas. I enjoyed these three Amish mysteries. The details are slowly revealed which had me quickly turning the pages to find out what would happen next. The most intriguing was Plain Redemption which is written by Mary Alford who also writes for Annie’s Attic Hearts of Amish Country series. I liked the danger and surprising information that is revealed. All three novellas are well-written with interesting characters and situations. Gram was an entertaining character in A Bid for Love. Her various antics had me chuckling. Mission for Love had me happy that I am not a twin which I always thought would be fun growing up. I appreciated the epilogues in each novella. While the characters are going through difficult situations, they never forget that God is there for them. Their faith is strong and they to pray for guidance. Love’s Truest Hope has three diverting Amish tales that will have you putting a “Do Not Disturb” sign on your door.
LOVE’S TRUEST HOPE is an anthology of three Amish stories from three different authors, two of whom I’ve previously read. There are different settings and stories but all have their faith, their families, friends and community at their core. I look forward to reading more books by each of these authors.
MISSION OF LOVE by Laura V. Hilton moved at a fast pace but seemed disjointed to me since there was so much going on that didn’t always seem to have a purpose. Twins, Lucinda (or Cindy as she prefers to be called) and Linda could not be more different. Cindy is the responsible one—always doing the right thing, helping her family, being there for others. Linda is always looking out for herself, cutting corners, doesn’t tell anyone where she’s going and likes things she shouldn’t, being Amish. Jason (Jace) returns from doing missionary work and has to reconnect with his family, though he doesn’t plan to stay. He falls for Cindy after running into her, and the feeling is mutual although she can’t believe he’s really attracted to her and not her twin. They keep getting thrown together, and I liked how their feelings for each other evolved. The bishop is hard to like and was mean spirited but I liked how Cindy’s daed (dad) supported her. Just the way the bishop says her name annoyed me—Lu-Sin-da, with the stress on Sin! I loved the way the Amish always rally around each other in support when someone or a family member needs it. The story ends abruptly with a happily ever after. An epilogue would have tied up some of the loose ends, of which there were many, and given me the closure I wanted.
I have previously read one of Ms. Hilton’s short stories in LOVE’S CHRISTMAS BLESSINGS and enjoyed it.

BID FOR LOVE by Rachel J. Good was a wonderful read that held my interest from the first page to the last. Marty is a caring young Amish man, especially when compared to his two friends. He seems to always want to do what’s right and give help to others while his friends prefer to do as little as possible. When their donated day of landscaping is auctioned off for a very high dollar amount, none of them know what to expect. They’re surprised by not only where they will be spending their day but also who lives in the house. They briefly met Isabella and her granddaughter, Olivia, who are Englisch, at the auction but don’t know who they are. When they meet again, things get out of control fast.
There are unexpected twists and turns and a lot of clues to sift through when Isabella asks Marty for his help at a lot more than landscaping. Olivia is totally clueless on what her grandmother is up to, who she really is, and how she was raised. Although there is a happily ever after as told in the epilogue, which takes place three years later, there are still some loose ends regarding Olivia’s grandmother. I hope we meet up with these characters again to give me the closure I need and we see how their lives turned out.
I’ve enjoyed many books by Ms. Good, who is fast becoming one of my favorite authors of Amish fiction. I look forward to reading more of her books.

PLAIN REDEMPTION by Mary Alford was a wonderful story by a new-to-me author. I hope to read many more of her books. There were so many heartfelt moments of love as well as fear and despair. I didn’t expect the book to take place in Montana, but I was drawn in to the story immediately. How much pain and sorrow can one family endure? Lyddie lost her husband in an accident and had another personal loss, which no one knew about until she finally told her husband’s brother, Thomas—her first love. When Thomas returns home to help his family, the attraction is still there but each thinks it’s one-sided. The story has both heartwarming and heart-wrenching moments along with a mystery to be solved. I liked how Thomas supported both his mother and Lyddie throughout the ordeal, as well as how the doctor and police acted to solve the mystery.
The characters have a depth to them, and so does the story. There is a nicely played out happily-ever-after as well. I would love to be reunited with the characters and their community again.

I rated the book 4.5 stars but rounded to 5
Mission of love-
This book was cute. I found it interesting that in this story the author in a roundabout way mentioned that the way the Amish in this community were living was almost cult like. I guess I never really thought of it that way. I really enjoyed how Jace stood strong in his faith no matter what he faced. I liked how he also encouraged and tried to bring those he loved and cared about closer to God his love and actions. Over all I really thought this story was super cute
A Bid for love-
The story overall was cute. However I kept waiting for the next ball to drop, I guess I can say the author keeps you guessing on what’s really going on up till the last chapter. The love between Olivia and Gram was so sweet very much a clean read.
Plain Redemption
Sometimes the pain of loosing someone you love and guilt has a way of eating at you. This story just had away of getting to you in the heart. It draws you in and you find yourself not wanting to put the book down so you can find out what’s going on next. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and leaves you guessing till the end. Finding forgiveness is never easy no matter how you look at it.
Overall all three stories where really good. I liked how each had a lesson to learn. Each were a good clean story and well worth the read. It seemed like each story just flew by.
This group of stories will warm your heart, give you a glimpse into the Amish world and be entertained by three great authors. Each story stands on its own and is filled with wonderful characters throughout the book. Sit back , enjoy yourself and be transported to Amish country.
Mission of Love by Laura V. Hilton
I really enjoyed this story and how it reminds us how hard it is to step out of our comfort zone. Cindy is a sweet young woman who is self conscious of her looks. I thought it was funny that Cindy thought of herself as unattractive; yet her twin she thought was beautiful. One thing is for sure, they may be twins but they sure don’t think the same.
Jace has been in trouble in the past and is trying to return a favor by doing outreach to inner city teens. For a moment when he asks Cindy to join him silence filled the air. Cindy has a personal reason why she doesn’t want to go to this town and she will have to search her heart to reach out to this community.
It is a journey where we discover that people can be blamed for things they didn’t do, learn to forgive and turn to Jesus in time of need. I loved the part in the story when the author shows us what it is like ministering to inner city teens. Cindy really gets to experience compassion and learning how to forgive.
A Bid For Love by Rachel J. Good
This story from the moment I started reading it began to speak to me about trust, integrity and judgment. Many of us all guilty of judging others by their looks or surroundings. hen an elderly woman at an auction catches the three Amish young men’s attention, I was totally committed to the story. I won’t tell how these three young men ended up at the elderly lady’s expensive home, but I will say I was excited to find out what Ms. Isabella had up her sleeves.
It was comical to read how Daniel, Marty and Rafe were a bit frightened of the woman and how they plotted to protect their selves from her. They have a job to do at her home and it was interesting to read how they acted as they became involved in their chores.
I never expected the intrigue in this story and was so impressed with how the author wove a story filled with secrets, danger and life changing events. it moves at a fast pace and I am hoping maybe the author will consider a followup story. One of her best stories I have read from her.
Plain Redemption by Mary Alford
What an exciting story this was. I loved Lyddie right away and felt her pain as she mourned the death of her husband. When a tragic accident happens, her brother-in-law comes home after a year. There is a lot of hurt between Lyddie and Thomas but they need to concentrate on Thomas’s father right now.
I loved how the author lets us get to know the characters and take a look at their past. With Thomas home, will Lyddie be able to find love again? It was nice to see how faithful Thomas was to his mother and father. He will do anything to find out who hurt his father. The story is filed with a mystery that surrounds a desk. Someone is desperate to get it back. A mysterious man shows up in town and accidents start to happen. What is this man looking for? Lyddie and Thomas find themselves in danger and must keep one step ahead of this strange man.
The author shares how important it is to trust and forgive in this story. I loved how the characters turned to God and prayed for healing and protection. My favorite character was Thomas because he knew he had walked away from his family and needed to come home to repair the relationship. He is humble and I loved how he stepped up to help out as his father recovers. It is a great story that keeps you guessing and reminds us how important family is.
I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.
Love’s Truest Hope
By: Laura V. Hilton , Rachel J.Good, & Mary Alford
Love’s Truest Hope is a collection of three stories by three different wonderful authors. These stories allheal with loss, love, forgiveness, and second chances.
Mission of Love
By: Laura V. Hilton
A young man returns to his Amish community . A set of twins who look alike , but are so different. This is Cindy and Jace’s story.
A Bid For Love
By: Rachel J. Good
Three Amish young men donate a day of yard work of their time at a silent auction to the highest bidder. This was a fun story and I loved it very much. The story was well written and the characters realistic. You will have to read to see how these young men’s day turns out.
Plain Redemption
By: Mary Alford
This is a story about Lyddie who is a widow and lives with her in-laws. There is some mystery that makes you keep turning the pages.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book, but was not told that I had to give a positive review. All opinions are my own.
If you like Amish stories… grab this trilogy. I enjoyed each of these Amish stories that held little surprises I wouldn’t have thought would take place in their quiet communities. I found there was suspicious attacks, murder, disappearances, secrets and just the right amount of romance to keep me reading each in one setting! I was gifted a copy, no review was required. My review is voluntary.
Three wonderful Amish stories by three great authors.
Mission of Love by Laura V. Hilton: Jace returns to his Amish community with missions to inner city youth on his mind. Twins Cindy and Linda are different as night and day. Linda tends to be quite selfish for an Amish girl and Cindy thinks of herself as less desirable than her twin, kind of like the heavier less attractive one. The developing of Cindy and her relationship with Jace and with God makes this story definitely one to savor.
Bid for Love by Rachel J. Good: This was quite the suspenseful story! Lots of secrets, deception for a good cause, and danger alluded to that kept me guessing throughout. The author did a great job keeping me on edge and worrying about the danger to the characters. A must read for sure!
Plain Redemption by Mary Alford: Interesting storyline full of suspense and intrigue! Why is a strange man turning up at unexpected times scaring the characters? Break ins, gun shots, strange cars add to the mystery and danger. Definitely a page turner!
All three were great stories with relationships to God building the characters up and growing their faith. I received a complimentary copy of this ebook from the publisher through Celebrate Lit but was not required to write a review positive or otherwise.
This is a wonderful set of three Amish romance/suspense novellas. I love each of these authors.
The first story is Mission of Love by Laura V. Hilton. Cindy is the good twin and is trying to always help others. She and her twin sister meet an old friend, Jason, and he gets a crush on Cindy. I really enjoyed these characters and the story.
The second book is A Bid For Love by Rachel J. Good. This has a bit more suspense and has fantastic characters. Marty is a great guy that anyone would be lucky to get to know.
The last book in the set is Plain Redemption by Mary Alford. This was probably my favorite because this had the most suspense. I loved the twists and turns. I loved trying to figure out why this family is being targeted.
I loved the whole book and did not want to put the book down.
I received a copy of this book from Celebratelit for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.
The first read in this book is from Laura V. Hilton, so I knew I was in for a treat, and I sure wasn’t disappointed.
We are offered a young man who as recently returned to his Amish community, and for an interest we have a set of identical twins. They are identical in looks only, completely different personalities, and you will have to see which one he is interested in.
They are some really big surprises, and you won’t see a lot that happens her coming.
The next is from another favorite author of mine Rachel J. Good and kept me wondering what was happening, and why a grandmother would want her granddaughter to become Amish.
Keep reading it gets better and better, and a bit scary, and I love that there is an epilogue at the end!
The last was by a new author to me, but her story was also a page turner and the words flew off the page.
This one has a lot of danger associated, but why, and almost to the last page we are wondering what is going on. Keep reading this one also has an epilogue with wonderful surprises!
I received this book through CelebrateLit, and was not required to give a positive review.
Having read earlier novella collections that included Laura V. Hilton and Rachel J. Good, I knew Love’s Truest Hope would be another great collection without a doubt. Beside of these two top favorite authors Mary Alford was included in the collection. I enjoyed how each story was in a different state with Amish communities. Readers will not be disappointed in the spellbinding tales each author created with their individual style of writing, characters to love, action, faith, and romance.
Mission of Love by Laura V. Hilton found Lucinda Miller is carrying a load trying to assist her family in so many ways, while her twin sister is doing as little as possible with trouble arising from her actions at times. Jason King was one caring and ambition young man who stepped in to assist others, no matter if they were Amish or Englischer. His encounter with Lucinda brought moments of laughter and tears especially with the actions of her sister. The unexpected turn of events, stepping out of your comfort zone, trusting God and His ways brought a pleasant ending to this story.
Bid of Love by Rachel J. Good explored the events of a charity auction with a rich Englischer willing to pay a high bid for one day of yard service donated by three young Amish men. This novella contained a mystery surrounding Olivia and her eccentric grandmother with Marty being the one chosen on their Saturday of work to protect and win Olivia to become Amish. There was plenty of intense action as the story progressed with disappearances, false accusations, destruction of property and threats on lives. Will the truth of the past break or bond characters together in the end?
Plain Redemption by Mary Alford brought suspense into the story of Lyddie Hershberger and her in-laws from the beginning with Abram’s injuries from an accident. When his son Thomas Hershberger return home there’s an abundance of work to be done, convincing his dad of medical attention, and then someone stalking Lyddie. With an increase of vandalism, lives threatened, and destruction Thomas and Lyddie must work together to be safe. The final outcome of this story will keep readers turning pages till the end.
Love’s Truest Hope was a nice collection of how love and hope are needed regardless of the situation. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher, Celebrate Lit Publishing. I was not required to write a positive review but have shared my own opinion.
Three stories filled with Amish families and daily life. In “A Bid for Love” author Rachel J. Good brings the reader into a story filled with mystery. I enjoyed reading and turning the pages to find out what would happen next. How will a bid for yard work fit into the story? I received a complimentary copy of the story. No review was required.
Love’s truest hope
Three great stories, two are mysteries. I loved all three stories from different authors. A great way to find authors who you haven’t read before.
1. Mission of love by Laura V Hilton
Love this short story of Cindy and Jace. He has just come back in town. Finds all kinds of things going on. Cindy ends up babysitting a little one that is very active. There is all kinds of action. Definitely recommend reading this book.
2. A Bid for love by Rachel J. Good
I loved the mystery of this one. Olivia and Marty story is very unique. I don’t want to give any spoilers in my review. I loved gram, a very special character and just wanted the best for Olivia.
3. Plain Redemption by Mary Alford
I loved this one too. Thomas and Lyddie has a lot to work out. But in the meantime there is a someone trying to get something he wants who is very dangerous.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from Celebrate Lit. I was not required to write an positive review.
