It’s only the second one I’ve read in this series, but I’ve fallen in love with these hockey players romances!! It has great characters and a really good storyline!! I would recommend this book to everyone!!

Once again we are visiting the bad boys of hockey and this time it is Erics story

Alexa’s boyfriend breaks up with her after a year because they haven’t had sex. She goes to her brother’s best friend Eric to teach her how to give a man pleasure. This is a fast pace story. I enjoyed the story and the characters were interesting.
I had a difficult time with this story as I think it needs tighter editing. I found there to be location jumps that didn’t match up or caused me to think “Say what?”
For instance: Alexa visits Eric after being dumped by her boyfriend. After explaining why she is there, she asks Eric if he could teach her to please a man since she is a virgin. He offers to help her. Then that’s it. The story jumps to the next chapter where Alexa is at home trying to choose an outfit to go to a hockey game. No further discussion of where/how/when these lessons were going to occur.
Another instance is when Eric goes to visit Alexa early one morning. As soon as she opens the door, Eric makes a move and starts kissing her. They pause to breathe then start again but they have to shift position on the couch. Wait! When did they move to the couch??
The morning after sleeping together, there is a knock at the door.
“… been calling her cell and it goes straight to voicemail,” Dan said. “I haven’t been able to reach her in a day. So, I tracked her car and it’s here. You wouldn’t happen to know where she is, would you?” Alexa sat straight up in bed. She knew that voice. Dan.
Yep, it’s Dan as mentioned in the sentence before!
And the phrase “she picked her eyes up and stared into Eric’s.” made me laugh. When did her eyes fall out?

This is the baddest boy so far. Alexa’s boyfriend breaks up with her. She’s inexperienced, and asks her older brother’s teammate Eric to help her. Eric’s a player, and he’s all too happy to help her out. Her brother finds out about them, and he doesn’t take it very well. In the beginning, she has trouble telling Eric what she wants. The tables are turned later on, when he has trouble telling her what he wants. This is a spicy story, and I loved it!

This is a quick read about Alexa and Eric. When her boyfriend breaks up with her Alexa asks her brother’s teammate Eric to teach her the right way to please a man. But as always what starts out as one thing always turns out to be so much more. Great story but my only complaint is that the story jumped around without explanation.

This is my 2nd book by Heather and I love authors who write in dual point of view. Alexa is hurt when expecting a proposal her boyfriend of a year breaks up with her. She seeks out the help of her brother’s teammate, Eric to teach her how to please a man. But what starts out as a lesson maybe tips the scale to something more.

Short and sweet with a bit of romance thrown in with Alexa an Eric finding themselves together in a slightly forbidden relationship.
I thought it was telling that Alexa went straight to Eric after being dumped by her boyfriend of one year. It was sweet that they both had feelings for each other but were clueless about it.
A very short story, but I prefer a well written short story over a long drawn out tedious story any day!

I have to admit upfront, this was not my favorite book by the author who I normally enjoy immensely. I think Alexa’s overwhelming innocence turned me off to the story. Eric’s character was the consumate bad boy committment-phobe. The story moved along well once he introduced her to the steamy side of relationships.

She asks him to teach her how to please a man. The problem: Alexa is the younger sister of his teammate, goalie, Dan Mead, and she’s a virgin. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers.
I like Lexi. She is innocent and a bit naive. Her ex is a jerk who left her insecure. I appreciated Eric’s character. He is a good guy. He agrees to educate Lexi but learns a few things in the process. I like how Alexa stands up to her brother. She is a strong character that grows in the story.
At eight five pages, THE DEFENSEMAN, is a quick and easy read. It is well-written and attention-grabbing. It fits in great with the Bad Boys of the NHL series. I recommend this book to people who enjoy sports romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
After a disaster date where Alexa is expecting a marriage proposal but instead gets dumped by her boyfriend, she knows there’s only one place she can go to get help with her little problem of inexperience: her brother’s teammate, Eric. I love a sweet and spicy story, and this definitely is that. I’m not normally a fan of the virgin heroine theme but there’s something about Alexa and Eric’s story that makes it work for me. Eric may have been a playboy before Alexa, but with her he’s just so sweet, charming, and lovable. I want to keep him for my very own.

I liked this quick read romance. I thought is had a entertaining blend of heat, heart and sweetness. I liked both characters so much. Lexi was an innocent and she had some baggage from a previous botyfriend. I thought she was spunky though and she hhad a backbone. Eric was a plyer that reformed very quickly once he realized he could get what he really wanted, Lexi. Of course there is some drama and emotional turmoil along the way. I felt that this was a very enjoyable read.
