I don’t love him. I don’t even like him.I just want him.Eli Loveless was my nemesis from the first day of kindergarten until we graduated high school. Everything I did, he had to do better – and vice versa. The day he left town was the best day of my life.Ten years later, the day he came back was the worst. Now he’s my co-worker.Grown-up Eli Loveless is sexy as sin. He’s hotter than asphalt in the … is sexy as sin. He’s hotter than asphalt in the summer. The irritating kid I once knew is gone, and he’s been replaced by a man with green eyes, perfect abs, and a cocky smile.
It’s bad that I want him.
It’s worse that he wants me back.
There are looks. There are smirks. There are smiles that make my panties burst into flame.
And then there’s a shared kiss that leads to the hottest night of my life.
This is no office romance. This is a five-alarm fire.
What’s a girl to do when the man I can’t stand is the one I can’t stop lusting after?
Enter into a friends-with-benefits agreement, of course.
No dates. No relationship. Just blisteringly hot sex, because if there’s one person I could never fall for, it’s Eli.
…right?

I am completely and utterly in love with Violet and Eli so much. This story just had me hooked from the blurb alone and one I honestly and truly could not put down. They have basically been enemies or at least competitive with each other since they were kids trying to out do the other. After he left she was happy but now that he is back things are have started to change between them. Really enjoyed this one a lot!
Violet and Eli have competed with each other over everything since they started school and it didn’t matter how big or small the issue was. Their competition only escalated as time went on until they graduated high school, and each went their separate ways.
Ten years later Eli is back and town and let’s just say their reunion was quite memorable, but it is when they find themselves as co-workers that the games really begin!
These two were so adorable together as the sparks of antagonism between them turn into sparks of a different nature. Eli knew exactly what buttons to push to get a rise out of Violet, but his protective nature rose to the forefront when someone else tried to do the same.
I think this is only my second enemies to lovers book but it might be my new favorite trope. I have, however, read all of Roxie Noir’s books and like all the rest this was a 5 star. I could not have loved Eli and Violet more. Their past, their present, their dialogue, their love, and even their hate, everything is just perfect.
This was such a good book by Roxie. It made me laugh at the banter and competitiveness between Eli and Violet. These two have known each other since grade school and they always tries to one up each other. Then Eli left and has been gone for years and is back. He and. Violet are working at the same place and their competitiveness is in full scale. These two come up to an agreement to be not so much friends, but two people who want to have that “itch” scratched. They also agree to keep their “relationship “ a secret. This becomes the worst kept secret considering it’s such a small town. Eli and Violet start to become closer and have feelings other than hate or dislike towards each other. The chemistry between them is explosive as is both their tempers. They are both so stubborn and keep their feelings to themselves. There is someone who wants to sabotage them. They are kept on their toes. This has some suspense, comedy, romance and some twists and turns. I really liked this story. It was a gear romcom with steam. I loved the main characters, along with the secondary characters. Eli’s brothers, mother and niece are a hoot. This book made me laugh out loud. Pick this one up quick.
A lovely witty read! Eli and Violet have been enemies all through school. Years later they still have their competitiveness but with a new twist… they both got HOT since they last saw each other.
Steamy, laugh out loud read.
I loved this book. The banter was fantastic and it flowed perfectly. I look forward to the next book in this series.I definitely recommend this book, this series and this author. In the audible version the narrators were fantastic and I fell in love with these charactes all over again.
Roxie Noir has written my newest favorite book! I can’t even begin to say enough good things about this book. This enemies to lovers story is full of all the feels and is so scorching hot too. I love the interaction between Eli and Violet. These two who have known and hated each other most of their lives and have always been in competition fall into a relationship while seemingly not even realizing it. Both character grow so much through the story. I laughed, I cried and I didn’t want it to end. You need to definitely read this book!! You will love it too!
After so many years a part they still behave in the same way – they have ’win’ over the other. Going from child to adult didn’t change a thing, or…?
Eli and Violet are still competing, but now they have a more adult chemistry between them. While they try to figure out why they are drawn together they work together and some other thing…
It was a very intense, romantic and fun story and I coul read more about Eli and Violet and Eli’s family.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
A hilarious spin on friends with benefits and a terrific introduction to the Loveless clan. I can’t wait for the brothers future books. I love his niece, she is so adorable. There’s a fine line between love and hate–these two love to hate each other. They also love each other too.
Violet’s childhood nemesis Eli Loveless has returned to town. Well, actually, he’s been back but she didn’t know until he walked into the kitchen where she’s washing dishes after the WORST date EVER! Eli walking into the kitchen is the icing on her craptastic cake. It’s alright, a new week is coming. New start, right? Wrong. She’s late to the all-staff meeting at Bramblebush, an upscale resort/banquet hall where Violet is a wedding coordinator and she walks right into the devil himself, who is the new executive chef. Of course.
Eli has traveled the world, cooking and discovering food. He was also looking for something. He just didn’t know what he was looking for or that he was even looking for it until he returns home. Actually, he realizes it the moment he starts fighting with Violet. He missed someone to challenge him. Violet has done that since the first grade and beat him almost every time. He has won–once. Something has changed between them too. He never used to imagine devouring her with his mouth–slowly or all the wicked things he wants to do to her body. Their chemistry is off the charts. He would rather fight with her than do anything else. He can barely control himself around her. What happens when he kisses her? Or when they start a friends with benefits arrangement that he has no intention of ending? Violet cares about what their boss will think about their relationship. What will happen if their boss finds out? Violet has no one to help her? Can they overcome their constant bickering and fighting to have a lasting relationship?
Enemies With Benefits by Roxie Noir is the first book in her Loveless Brothers series. An enemies to lovers story set in a wonderfully quaint Virginia town. The secondary characters are awesome, the setting is painted perfectly, and the tension between the two characters is palpitating. Sexy angst, steamy interactions, denial, denial, denial. It all sets the tone for this humorous and sexy tale. This was my first Roxie Noir book but it won’t be my last! Enjoy!
What happens when the date from hell turns into the worst night of your life? You come face to face with the boy who challenged you every step of the way from Kindergarten through high school, who goaded you and did everything he could to beat you in whatever you were doing. And so what you thought was a terrible night descends into a terrible life, when you find out your nemesis is back in town. But he’s not that annoying boy, he’s smoking hot, sex on legs that makes all your important parts tingle. Can Violet and Eli give in to their desires or are they too stubborn to see what’s right in front of them. Loved Violet and Eli’s story. It was funny, well written and flowed easily through the narrative. It kept me engaged and made me become invested in what happened to the characters. Definitely worth reading.
Violet Tulane and Eli Loveless hate each other, or do they? They went to school together and competed from elementary through high school, willing to say, or do almost anything to win. Violet and Eli will have to learn to work together, since Eli has moved back to their tiny hometown of Sprucevale, and taken a job with the same company where she works.
Eli and Violet are sizzling hot, sexy, characters who will learn that their loud, and sometimes very vocal, proclamations of hatred will turn into love and a happily ever after. Fantastic roomance with some unexpected twists. I loved this book!
I am voluntarily leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of this ARC.
The concept of this book is good. A new twist on the old ‘from enemies to lovers’ trope. In this case ‘from frenemies to lovers’. Even the snarky back and forth between the h and H is fun, but only for so long. At about two thirds of the book it gets repetitive and annoying.
Take out about a third of the endless back and forth and you would have a fun sexy read.
Enemies with Benefits is a contemporary romance stand alone from the new to me author. From the first moment I saw the title, I was intrigued by it. I mean, it’s not the usual term I hear about, it is mostly friends with benefits. But “enemies with benefits?” That alone is enough to reel me in. But when I read the blurb and found out it was “enemies to lovers”, my excitement went sky high. I love this trope and I admit that I’m a sucker for it, plus a dash of small town romance and rom-com, man, it’s like there is a trope for everyone here. And boy did the author deliver and more.
Violet and Eli were after each other’s throats since they were 5 years old til they reach the age of 18. They are competitive and always try to one up each other through their school years. After high school graduation, they parted ways to study for college. Years later, they met again but this time, there is more to their bickering than meets the eye. They are more hyper aware of each other while their bickering became more heated than ever. Over all, I have enjoyed reading the story; the plot and storyline was very engaging, there was a lot of snickering/giggling on my part on the scenes between the main characters (I do love their witty banter!) as I keep flipping the pages for more of them. It was a fun, entertaining read that I can’t wait to check out the next Loveless boy story.
3 1/2*
Eli & Violet have a history of been enemies all throughout school, he’s just returned to their home town and an unexpected meeting has them clashing together. Imagine the sparks when she finds he’s the new chief for the company.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Slow burn
I loved this book so much! I laughed! I cried! The storytelling is awesome and the characters are all wonderful … and I’d like to meet every one of them. I definitely recommend this book for a fun, easy read!
Enemies with Benefits by Roxie Noir was a sweet, sexy and emotional romance. She actually combined two tropes here. Friends to lovers and enemies to lovers. Does it sound contradictory and confusing? Well that is the brilliance of this story. She managed to make it work with great characters and intelligent sassy writing.
Violet and Eli has been at each other’s necks throughout the school. The competition was for academic and any kind of achievements. Now years after they are facing each other. Both had to sacrifice their once big dreams and both has changed. When they start working at the same resort (Violet as lead event coordinator and Eli as lead chef) , they are sure they will kill each other. But soon circumstances change and they start feeling something new. Until the twist at the end. Violet is feeling betrayed and hurt but was it really Eli?
It is not your typical angst filled enemies to lover romance where hate and love fight brutally. Violet is a smart, gorgeous, hardworking and compassionate woman. And I just loved Eli. This guy has a sexy body, handsome face and a golden heart. There is something irrestible about a man who can cook. He has a smart mouth and a mean sense of humor. I loved reading about the small town, the loyal friends and the Loveless brothers. The chemistry is hot as hell and sweet as the best dessert. I enjoyed the funny conversations, the emotional encounters and the slow burn. The dual POV made the story interesting!
Roxie Noir has written an excellent romantic comedy with plenty of swoony feelings. A definitely perfect read if you want to relax and smile after a long day!
