No, I had to figure out how to live again. And deal with my heinous aunt. Plus her two daughters, aka the Terrible Two.But then I got my … daughters, aka the Terrible Two.
But then I got my first letter from Jett.

The very first chapter had me near tears. This one will pull on your heart strings. The writing style and plot flow well, and the story is original. I would have liked more substance, more complicated drama to make the book longer. I wanted to feel that they were really pining for each other as pen pals, a more evolved, mature and necessary love. Overall, a very cute, unique contemporary story.
Another awesome book from Kelsie! She has such a way with words that makes you want to keep reading. I loved this book and it is now one of my absolute favorites! I can’t wait to read what she comes up with next!
A very touching story, made my heart break for the characters.
What can I say… this book brought me to tears more than once while reading. It’s such a touching story. So much pain and emotions. It’s not just a sad story. It’s also a story of hope and love and moving on. Finding happiness when what seems is only darkness. It’s sooo good. I can’t express with words exactly how much this story has moved me. It really opened my eyes. And i highly recommend this as a MUST READ. It’s so GOOD.
I loved this book, I would have read in one sitting, but I had a prior commitment and forced myself to put it down. I felt many emotions throughout this book.I highly recommend this book if you love clean stories with heart.
-‘How had I been so blind?’-
Oof. Wow. Talk about your entire life exploding in a flash! On the night of Cindy’s 18th birthday, her life, as she knows it, ceases to exist. Everything she holds dear is taken away in an instant. Forced to live with “Medusa and the Terrible Two”, Cindy is just a meal ticket for her aunt and cousins and she’s treated as such.
I have to admit, I got a little teary-eyed reading this book. Very well written! Reminds me of Kelly Oram’s books. There is swearing in the book so readers should be aware.
This is absolutely nothing like the traditional Cinderella story, other than the evil stepmother character (aunt) and thoughtless stepsister (cousin) and the hardships she loves through. The fact that the idea for the book comes from real personal experience (her brother) makes it all that much better because it’s so realistic. More of a drama than a romance, I found this book to be refreshing in its originality. I absolutely loved the storyline and I highly recommend this book.
Heart-wrenching, yet uplifting story about loss and resilience, friendship, and love.
Cindy and JJ’s story was a very emotional read for me. Kelsie Stelting managed to break my heart on page one, when it became clear what was about to happen. I’m grateful that, by the end of the story, she managed to piece it together again.
One of my favorite quotes: “How do you make a blind girl happy when all she wants is to see the stars?”
Loved this book! I laughed, I cried and I just didn’t want it to end. The characters are ones that draw you in and you are left wanting more. Here’s hoping that there will be more books to follow in this entriging storyline!
