Life is full of many things.Love.Loss.Heartbreak.Laughter.No matter how small, each moment has value. Then there are the big moments. The moments that define us.And the people who shape our very existence.Abel Collins is that person for me. From the very first time our eyes locked, I knew there was something about him. That he was the person that would change everything. And he did.But Abel isn’t … was the person that would change everything.
And he did.
But Abel isn’t just any man…
His past is his prison.
His guilt keeps him chained.
His grief defines him.
And now it’s up to me to set him free.
To make him see that life isn’t just about what we’ve lost but what we still stand to gain.
Because it’s not about what came before, but what comes after.
****WHAT COMES AFTER can be read following TEN HOURS or as a complete STANDALONE.

What Comes After can be read as a stand-alone but I think y’all should read Ten Hours first so you can get the whole experience of Abel. I was so happy to find out that Melissa was going to give Abel a happily ever after. And boy she made it so beautiful. She gave Abel and strong woman to fight through his fears for.
Abel has been lost for 3 years. After losing his wife to cancer he headed to California and stayed. But now it’s time to head back to Chicago. Abel is still guilt stricken and still so sad. But one night a chance meeting changes his whole outlook. Though it isn’t easy for him, Abel starts to live again. And because of Peyton he can finally breathe again. Peyton is exactly what he needs. Y’all Ben though it’s hard for him, she makes things easier. She helps heal his broken heart.
That’s all I’m writing for my review. Because if you’ve read Ten Hours then you know Abel and this story gives us hope and makes our hearts full.
Melissa Toppen gives us a story of finding out that you can love more than one woman/man and that your heart is big enough for them both.
Highly recommended.
*I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author/publisher in exchange for my honest and voluntary review. All thoughts and opinions are those of my own.*
I was so happy to see Abel had another book, this poor man deserves an hea. The first book gutted me to read how these two amazing ppl found a love so rare, and then to lose it was just the saddest happiest book I’ve read to date. But now Abel gets another chance at love and this time with a girl that is so perfect for him, she is just so patient while he navigates his feelings. Peyton is just so loveable as a character, and holy these two together just honestly put a smile on my face throughout the whole entire book.
