The third book in the series continues the focus on Jason and Morgan. There is a lot going on with questions about Morgan’s nature since she is not human and a vampire coven targeting Morgan, Jason and his pack. Morgan is also struggling with trusting Jason after she overheard that he may only want her for her powers.

Fast paced book with a good story line. Morgan and Jason are well written characters. Waiting three thousand years for his mate to appear is not what Jason was expecting. Can a human and a Varcolac make it work? Read and find out.

When her mother was terminally ill, Morgan Freeman, a young South African woman, returned home to care for her. Years pass, her mother is gone, so Morgan decides to return to her job on a cruise line, where she felt at home, and she had been happy. Jason Chase, aka Jericho, is a three thousand year old Varcolac, and his life will be turned up side down when Morgan boards the ship he, too, is working on, and he realizes that she is his true mate. Morgan is flabbergasted when Jason shows an interest in her, every woman aboard the ship, passengers and crew, practically throw themselves at him. Jason will have his work cut out for him trying to convince Morgan that she’s the only woman he wants.
Sexy, unique, and sometimes funny characters. When Morgan finds out the truth about Jason it could be the end or their relationship. Wow fascinating plot with unexpected twists, and a completely different narrative on werewolves and vampires. Fantastic book, I loved it!

Morgan Freeman, a girl from South Africa, not the American actor, has had it rough. She just wants a bit of normalcy, her brother, and just maybe she can rid herself of the “virginity curse”. After her mother’s death and her brother’s disappearance, she is able to make it back to the cruise ships, to work. She enjoyed it once. She even had a few friends that she became close with from her last cruise job. Now, its like starting over and the guy she’s partnered with, Jason Chase, seems nice enough. Actually, he’s drop-dead gorgeous and he’s actually a nice guy.
Jason decided to work one more contract before calling it quits. He’s been having strange reactions, signs that he may be close to his mate; a mate that he can do without after seeing what his sister put her mate through. Until he meets her, Morgan.
I love/hated this story. Most of the story was built around getting to know Morgan and Jason. There is a boatload of info needed and I like how the author used a character’s love of reading to deliver much of that info. I also thought the lockpass was interesting. There were some things, like Jason’s tatoo, that seemed really important, but was only given a passing glance. There were parts that were confusing and felt incomplete though I don’t like to say that, especially knowing this is a book in a series. There were many things left hanging.
There was a boatload of sex. I didn’t like how being a virgin was portrayed as something bad, dirty and wrong, as though it was a disease. I mean, Morgan made sure to let it goooo. I thought her reactions after intercourse were more realistic than “first-timers” in typical romance stories (I appreciated the honesty). Her wonderings and frustrations were refreshingly real. Jason was frustrating toward the end, but I understood why.
There were issues with editing that may be taken care of by release day, so I will not make a big fuss. Overall, I enjoyed the book. I definitely want to know what happens next. So many questions need an answer.
I received a copy of this book from BookSprout and the author for an honest review. 3.5-4 stars
“Mine Immortal” is a well-written fast-paced paranormal tale that had me hooked in the first chapter. This is more than just a vampire tale, “Mine Immortal” is a tale of magic and super-naturals. The storyline is intriguing and unique, the scenes are vivid and authentic, and the characters are extraordinary, funny and real. This was an excellent paranormal read.
