Everything seems perfect at Onyx—until they fail their mission.Roughly one month has passed since Mason joined Onyx. In that time, he saved the President’s family, took his daughter to Stanford, and received orders to take out an Iranian scientist plotting to drop samples of Ebola on Washington D.C. Along with the rest of Onyx, Mason flies over to Tehran to complete what should be a routine … what should be a routine mission.
But upon arrival, everything goes to hell. The scientist is nowhere to be seen. The vials are gone. All leads are cold. And, to make matters worse, someone is actively working to sabotage Onyx from within.
With an upcoming presidential election and no leads, the clock is ticking on Mason and Onyx to prevent the greatest biological weapons strike in the history of the United States. And should they fail, it would not just mean the end of Onyx—it would mean the end of the United States.

I received the ARC from Bad Boy Update. Book 3 is just as pulse pounding and action packed as the first two! It has been a quiet month for Mason and he is getting ready to take his daughter to Stanford. Just as he thinks he will have too much time on his hands Onyx is tasked with retrieving weaponized Ebola from Tehran. It should be a routine mission, until it all goes sideways. The trail leads them back to DC and more possible corruption at the highest levels. Mason must not only deal with a shady religious organization, shady military, his attraction to Raina and the hole in his heart from the guilt about his wife and how badly he misses his daughter. Love this series!
This is the third book in the Mason Walker Series. There is one more book before the series is complete. Talk about suspense, danger and fast action, this book will keep you on the edge of your seat. A lot of drama that ranges from protecting the President’s family to an ebola scare. No shortage of twists or turmoil. A good read that I read as an arc and voluntarily chose to review.
This was Book 3 of the “Mason Walker” series and it was just as enjoyable as the previous books in this series! Great storyline and wonderfully created characters kept me turning the pages until the very end!
I was on the edge of my seat at times whilst reading this addition to this awesome series. This is a page-turner and I am so pleased that I have insomnia when I have great books like this to read!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The Search – Oh. My. Gosh! What tripe; was this written by a junior high kid? The writing style is lacking. The author does not pull me into his world. His descriptions lack the visualization good storytelling provides. His characters are flat; no life, no personalities. The dialogues are unrealistic. Sadly, I volunteered for all four books of this series hoping to find a new author. Should have known when the books appeared on Booksprout Sunday with the due date four days later that I was asking for disappointment. 2*
The Warrior – Howell still has not convinced me to get interested in his world. I do appreciate he uses uppercase for God, but why not mom and dad? Even after two books, I still do not care for the writing style, the characters or their dialogues. Action scenes just remind me too much of Hollywood instead of the real deal. 2*
The Cleansing – Well, Howell is consistent and I am extremely sorry to have selected these four books but I enjoy reading action series like Modeen or Rex Dalton. Well, can’t win them all. I got to about 75 percent before my eyes crossed and rolled back into my head and I started skimming. Still the same complaint, lack of storytelling skills. Juvenile, instead of experienced. 2*
The Dark Underground – Made it to Chapter 28 and then refused to read another word. This author’s writing style is not for me, nor are his characters and his dialogues. 2*
