I fell in love with this beautiful heartwarming story from the very first page.It kept me turning the pages all the way to the satisfying end. It was wonderfully written and full of great Characters. The main characters feel real, like people I could meet every day, and I cared about them from the very beginning. I enjoyed this story very much and I am eager to read other books by this author . Janice Lynn’s “Wrapped up In Christmas” was such a charming and romantic novel.
This story had so many great aspects to it from family to friends, to Quilts of Valor organization, to learning to live after the war.
Bodie was a kind and giving soul that took Sarah by surprise from the beginning. The “butterflies” were totally entertaining and kept things exciting!

Janice Lynn does a wonderful job bringing this Hallmark story to life in my mind as I read. I laughed, I got teary eyed. I would love to see this as a Hallmark Christmas movie someday soon!
I bought both the ebook and print versions of this book. Really a fun, heartwarming read just like you’d imagine a Hallmark story to be. And that’s coming from a huge Hallmark movie fan.
Wrapped Up in Christmas by Janice Lynn is a wonderful Christmas story. The two main characters, Sarah Smith from Pine Hill, Kentucky and Bodie Lewis, injured ex-Army Ranger are such a lovely couple. Bodie traveled to Pine Hill to thank Sarah for the beautiful quilt she donated and he received while in the Army hospital after being injured and ended up being her handyman for finishing getting Hamilton House ready for a Christmas Open House. Their story is a beautuful, emotional one. Bodie’s dog Harry has a special place in the story too. During the revelation of Sarah & Bodie’s story of falling in love there are many Christmas activities. I loved the section about the On-the-Square Christmas Festival and the section where Sarah and Bodie decorate the Christmas tree at Hamilton House. This book left me with warm feelings and the Christmas Spirit.
Wrapped Up in Christmas is the latest offering by author Janice Lynn. Sarah Smith of small Pine Hill, Kentucky, poured her heart and the grief she felt at the loss of her beloved Aunt Jean into the Quilt of Honor she made for an unknown wounded warrior. Bodie Lewis is the recipient of all the love poured into that quilt. In fact, he credits the quilt and her attached note for his turn around in healing.
Bodie’s injuries resulted in him being honorably discharged from the Army Rangers, the only thing he had ever wanted to do in life. His good friend Lukas, owner of iSecure Security Service, has offered him a job beginning the first of the year. Until then, Bodie has decided to visit his family in Houston by way of Pine Hill. He wants to make a quick stop to thank Ms. Sarah Smith, who he envisions to be a wise older lady, and to let her know how much her quilt had meant to him.
When Bodie arrived at the community church in Pine Hill he mistakes church elder Maybelle Kirby for Sarah, never expecting his benefactor to be a pretty twenty something whose pure goodness was enough to light up a room. Mistaking Bodie for someone answering her ad for a handyman to help complete suites in the bed and breakfast Sarah hopes to have ready for a Christmas Day open house, she asks for references and arranges to meet him at Hamilton House later in the day. Having recently inherited Hamilton House from her dear Aunt Jean, Sarah has the goal of bringing Aunt Jean’s dream of creating a bed and breakfast in the Victorian house to fruition.
Bodie has decided to pay Sarah back for the hope given to his life by helping her realize her goals. Having met her, a simple thank you seems too little. Growing up, Bodie worked with his contractor step-father and has all the skills needed to do a good job for Sarah. He decides to say nothing about the quilt.
As they work together, a tenuous friendship, perhaps the seeds of more, develops. Bodie finds he can refuse Sarah nothing, which means he goes along with her plans for Christmas festivities. Once they get too close, Bodie decides he must be honest, but doesn’t know how will this work out for him.
This is a delightful Christmas tale with rich characters and a delightful setting with a heartwarming theme. I very much enjoyed this book and I do recommend it!
Wrapped Up In Christmas by Janice Lynn is a sweet small town romance. Definitely the type of story that Hallmark is known to produce.
Bodie Lewis is a lost soul now that he has been discharged from the Army after severe injuries. Sarah Smith from Pine Hill, KY is a young woman who is happy in her small town and keeps herself busy with community service through her church and quilting for the Quilts of Valor Foundation. It’s her quilt that Bodie received while in the hospital during his recovery. He comes to thank her for the quilt but remains in Pine Hill to help her thinking that’s the best way to thank her.
The plot is smoothly paced with well developed characters and the quirky secondary characters in Sarah’s life, the Butterflies. A feel good Christmas story that provided an easy afternoon read.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book from Hallmark Publishing via NetGalley. All of the above opinions are my own.
If you are looking for a book that makes you smile, laugh and cry all at the same time, this one’s for you. I really enjoyed it.
Brodie is a at a rough patch in his life. He has just about given up any hope of coming through this when someone gives him a quilt through the Quilts for Valor program, he comes in to town to tell her thank you then meets her and decides to not say thank you but help her and then leave town.
Sarah made the quilt when she was at a rough patch in her life and it helped her to write the note that she wrote with it.
This is the kind of book that you find is so easy to give spoilers when you write the reviewer so I just think I will leave you with this. A great book that will not disappoint you. I really enjoyed reading the book and don’t forget to check out the butterflies in the book they are awesome too
