Tempest Michaels has always been clear about his views on the paranormal: nothing of the sort exists. But what is a paranormal investigator to do when he comes face-to-face with one of its very real creatures?
Jagjit has recommended Tempest’s services to the owner of the French Alpine hotel where he and his new wife, Alice, are honeymooning, as Hubert Caron’s daughter, Marie, was slaughtered by a Yeti. He and Big Ben, along with Bull and Dozer, make their way to Tignes to join the rest of the crew, expecting to find a man in a costume. What he finds, though … is a nine-foot-tall beast with two rows of teeth, giant tusks, enormous paws, and a hellacious roar he can hear all too well as he’s frantically snowmobiling away from it.
And to up the ante, just as the Yeti makes a special mid-blizzard appearance in front of the hotel, who should enter stage right but Vermont Wensley and his henchmen, Stefan and Arthur, certain that their special tools and spiritual skills will slay the supernatural animal.
As the creature claims two more lives and fear rises in the tiny mountain village, Tempest uses his Army training, common sense, and the cooperation of the local le chef de la police, Francois Delacroix, to not only ferret out the mystery of the Yeti, but uncover the truth of Marie Caron’s grisly death … and, after all is said and done, welcome Amanda for their first romantic rendezvous.
Paws of the Yeti is Steve Higgs’ most adventurous Blue Moon mystery so far … not only he does he solve his most difficult case to date, but he and Amanda finally match their starry-eyed timing. It’s a wonderful schuss down the slopes.
Criminy! It’s a real Yeti!!!
This author has an incredible imagination and gift for telling amazing stories. Debunking is the name of the game for Tempest Michaels, but can THIS story be debunked? The ensuing investigation is gripping! Don’t miss out on this fantastic adventure!
Love these characters. Kept waiting for Tempest to bite off more than he could chew. He does in this one for a bit. The Yeti is NOT some idiot in a fuzzy suit!

Another LAUGH YOUR SOX OFF mystery with Tempest and the loveable sausage dogs, Bull and Dozer! Besides being the world’s biggest skeptic regarding paranormal sightings, Tempest is also the guy who investigates and proves that the occurrences are engineered by person or persons soon to be known. Besides being a good mystery, the hilarity never ends even when things get dangerous. And this yeti is more than just a man in a costume!
Another excellent crazy mystery by Steve Higgs! Our paranormal investigator, Tempest Michaels, and his friends get into the funniest and sometimes scariest situations. It really keeps me reading and once I start, I just don’t want to put it down. Tempest became a paranormal investigator quite by accident and firmly believes that every paranormal incident is really caused by, or acted out by, a human being. This Yeti thing really trips him up and he doesn’t know what to think. Never fear, the mystery will be solved in the best possible way. I can’t wait for the next book!
Another fun one by Steve Higgs. I am a big fan of mystery and comedy, therefore a big fan of Steve’s. Every character is golden, and I could sooo be friends with this gang. Keep them coming, what will Tempest and friends get up to next? Can’t wait!
What a hilarious story!
Tempest has just finished a case of a man wearing a costume, and the guy is jumping out and terrifying children. Now he’s headed off to a resort in France, to figure out how a Yeti has murdered a young girl.
Things get interesting when he runs into the Yeti, and realizes it isn’t a person wearing a costume lol.
I stayed up all night reading this book.. What a hilarious story. I love this series of books.
