In a desperate bid to find relief from a mysterious illness, December steals from the most dangerous crime syndicate in the city. Her botched burglary attempt leaves her at the mercy of the Bratva and its leader Nikolai Petrovski, and after an incident with one of his men lands her in the hospital, the horrible truth is revealed.Nikolai wants to punish the tiny female who wreaked havoc in his … in his holding pens, but after catching the scent of the girl his enforcer almost strangled to death, instinct prompts him to alter his course. When doctors confirm what was believed to be a sickly beta woman is actually a chemically sterilized omega, a plan to secure himself an heir becomes his first priority.
When December awakes, it is Nikolai himself who breaks the devastating news. The faulty device that the state implanted in her when it deemed her unworthy of breeding has been removed, and she will soon experience her first true heat as an omega. December owed a debt, and she’d pay with her body, or her life.
But what would happen when the alpha Nikolai discovered just how valuable a prize he’d caught? Would he honor the terms of their arrangement once he realized she was one of “The Sacred Omegas”?
-“Ms. Pierce has made her own niche in this genre. This story made me feel everything. I wanted to throw something, cry, laugh and claim my hubby throughout the story. Sometimes at the same time. “- Goodreads reviewer.
-“I loved this mafia-meets-omegaverse romance, and I enjoyed the blend of fantasy and Bratva worlds. It was complex, with a lot of characters all having a part to play in this action-packed book.”- Goodreads reviewer
This is a Dark Omegaverse Fantasy Novel. Omegaverse often features themes of noncon, dubcon, power exchange, and more. If you enjoy these tropes, please continue. If you don’t, this book may not be for you.
**WARNING**
This book is set in a world where criminal regimes reign. There will be strong language, violence, and scenes of assault that may trigger some readers. You may cringe, you may cry, you may rage, but I promise, if you can bear to fight through that darkness, light and a HEA wait for you on the other side. PROCEED WITH CAUTION. You have been warned.

Amazing new author joins the Omegaverse!
A fantastic book from this new fresh author! It has it’s dark moments where you feel like your heart is ripped out, only to arch it back together again with bittersweet moments of healing.
This is a book with a strong female character and her strong yet firm and loving Alpha. I highly recommend you join December and Nikolai on their journey, you won’t regret it. Be warned though! This book is sexy, steamy, erotic, but it’s also got its dark points and some major triggers!
In the end, though this is a HEA and I could not put it down.
This was seriously so good. The suspense was intense and the sex was scorching hot. I got lost in story, and there’s almost nothing better than that.
If you like the Omegaverse genre and Addison Cain, you’ll probably like this book.
Organized crime goes along with Omegaverse really well. I’ve long thought a Russian Alpha would make sense in an Omegaverse story and it was pulled off here.
I loved that the heroine was a non-virgin and sexually experienced. The Alpha didn’t make a big deal about it either. That was refreshing. Also liked that she was sarcastic. I lol’d when she said “Sounds like a personal problem.” haha. It was nice having a heroine that knew how to physically defend herself against Alphas. It’s explained how she learned this skill too. She was well-balanced when it came to her strengths and vulnerabilities.
Nikolai was a great alphahole. In the beginning he was a HUGE asshole but he 100% redeemed himself. His loving streak came out towards the end and it was pretty swoon worthy. The author did an amazing job with him. I hope she writes more alphaholes 😉
I appreciated the attention to detail the author gave this story, and the characters. The dialogue was realistic, and the mannerisms and behaviors all made sense.
I loved the psychologist! He was so funny and portrayed realistically. Again, I really appreciate all the attention to detail that went into the psychologist’s interactions with December and Nikolai.
I’m really thrilled to have found a few new authors that are writing quality Omegaverse stories. I was in a bit of book hangover after reading Addison Cain’s Alpha’s Claim series, and I’m not going to lie, her bite sized series (Wren’s Song for example) aren’t very satisfying. This was a satisfying read.
This is one amazing debut novel
Calling all M/f omegaverse lovers! The Sacred Omegas – December is an absolutely fantastic story and one you really should read. The majority of the plot is set within a small number of rooms/buildings, so we don’t get to experience much of the outside world. However some very good world building at the start of the story helped set the scene, along with conversations, memories and the dynamic between characters.
I found the mafia/omegaverse blend to be both intriguing and captivating, the two aspects worked really well together. Along with both of these aspects was a romantic suspense element. These wove together to produce a well written and engaging story. One that easily held my attention both with it’s interesting plot as well as it’s good pace.
December and Nikolai totally made this book work for me. I loved both characters, December with her strength, fortitude and tenacity and Nikolai with his dominance, perseverance and tenderness. Whilst Nikolai is not a man to be trifled with, and though he made some mistakes with December at first, he was an alpha hero in every sense of the word. In general he treated December with respect, displaying a level of empathy not always found in his dynamic.
December experiences some harrowing times during this book, there are potential triggers around sexual assault. However these scenes involve secondary characters, rather than the hero, so whilst this is a dark romance it isn’t at the very blackest end of the spectrum. I have to admit that I had been lulled into a false sense of security, given Nikolai’s almost gentle treatment of December, so these passages really did knock me sideways. What further impressed me was the very genuine feelings that plagued December afterwards. She wasn’t miraculously ‘cured’ nor was she gagging for her alpha within minutes of being rescued. The lasting effects of her trauma and her responses to them felt very real.
The connection between Nikolai and December was very convincingly portrayed. The passion between them was incredibly hot but, more than that, I believed in their emotions too. It was only too easy to accept their feelings for one another.
Whilst this followed the general ‘rules’ of omegaverse works, it still had a fresh and fairly unique feel to it too. If you’re unfamiliar with the world, this book reads very much like a contemporary romance, but where the alpha and omega release pheromones that the other can scent. The omega will have heats and produce slick (lubrication) in response to growls from the alpha male. The alpha male produces a knot at the base of his penis, much like dogs and wolves do, that ties him to the omega. They DO NOT ‘shift’ or change into wolves/animals, they are more like modified humans.
I have not read alot of Omegas books but I really enjoyed this one. I loved the mafia alpha feel. I like the chemistry the H and the h had and how the h did not back down to H and stood her ground. Over all this was a very good book. I will be reading more by this author. Great job!!!
I’ve been following this author and this book since I’ve read a bit of this book when the author shared a draft version of it previously. In its draft version, it was such a great book and I was happy to know that she wanted to publish this book so that a wider audience can have the chance to enjoy it as well. This newer and improved version is no exception. Please note, this is an omegaverse story with darker elements. It will not be for a lot of people and some of the situations that our main character goes through can be triggers for a lot of women.
December is an extremely strong woman. She has street smarts, having to learn to survive on her own at a young age. She won’t even take any crap from Nikolai, even after learning about her true dynamic. Nikolai is a typical top alpha. He has an empire to run when his world gets a rude awakening after he runs into December. Thus starts their give and take, push and pull relationship. Their journey, however, turns out to be more of a rocky road than either one of them thought it would ever be.
I Received this Book from Author for Honest Review.
This is an Omegaverse, if you don’t know what it is, please take the time to look it up before you judge this book. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it’s DEFINITELY Mine.
*Grins*
I really enjoyed this version, it was well paced and even though the ending was good, I wish it was longer in the epilogue maybe a epilogue part 2? After December gives birth, Nikolai interacting with the baby would’ve been such a precious scene to include.
I Give this Book: 3.5/5
Heat: 4/5
Drama & Suspense: 3/5
HEA: Yes
Looking forward to more book from this Author!
This is a great read for Omegaverse lovers! I couldn’t put down this one once I started! December is definitely a strong heroine. And Nikolai is your typical overbearing alpha that you almost hate at first then end up changing your mind. By the end of the book I was rooting for both of them.
Tho I will admit there is a hard scene to read in this book. It made me realize exactly how strong December was and how nothing can hold her back or keep her down when she is willing to fight for something important to her.
This author wrote this book so well that I am definitely looking forward to any books she will be writing in the future! And I also can’t wait for more Omegaverse!
I’m a huge fan of omegaverse and Merel Pierce definitely delivered! This book was everything I had hoped for and way more. It had me turning page after page until I definitely reached the end. Made me feel so many different emotions and it’s probably not for the faint of heart but it’s definitely worth reading!
I originally read parts of this story while Merel was writing it. December with her odd hair and Nickolai the wiley one, these characters from the story just seem to click together. Their relationship is one of a kind as they discover. First you want to cheer for the “bad” guy and next paragraph you sentence him to hell. This story is about finding oneself in the world you find yourself in. I look forward to the next chapter in their lives.
I’ll come back to read this time and time again.
This is one of the best Omegaverse stories I’ve had the pleasure to read. It was definitely on the dark side. It is also under the dystopian trope category. The author has created a well-developed world where society is run by various criminal factions, after governments have failed due to wars. Shifting for herself on the streets, December, the heroine, finds herself in a holding cell after being caught stealing medicine from a drugstore. Although she thinks she is ill from some unknown disease, the Alpha whose jail she finds herself in knows better. She is an Omega, about to enter her first heat and he, Nikolai, plans to take advantage of her plight while he has her in his grip.
December is very well written. The plot is excellent, it’s rippling with emotion, with December’s pain and her fear of Alpha Nikolai. Danger and intrigue continue to weave their way through this story. Although she is no longer adrift on the dangerous streets, living under Nikolai’s roof brings exposure to his enemies and much risk for both of them.
Nikolai and December continue through most of the story to test each other’s limits. I like that the author created an Omega character that was firm of personality. She had an inner-strength that I found admirable, although sometimes she didn’t always use common sense about when to unleash that inner-strength. Many times it got her into trouble with Niko and earned her a spanking!
I mentioned this story was quite dark. Just be aware (as the author herself mentions) there are triggers in this story involving physical and mental abuse, rape, and torture of the main female character. None of these is perpetrated by the main male character, however.

I loved this book!
Yes, I may be a little biased due to Omegaverse being my favourite genre but it really was wonderful.
It had all the best traits of a good Omegaverse story too. Purring alpha, estros, slick, huge dicks, dominating males, hot AF sex scenes just everything!
It was dark as hell too!
DECEMBER
What a feisty and strong wee omega this female is!
I love her stubbornness and determination.
December had no idea she was an omega until she is caught stealing and is taken to crime lord Nikolai’s prison where she starts giving off the ‘fuck me’ scent and attracts the wrong attention.
After being knocked out, she wakes up with Nikolai in the room with her and nothing will ever be the same for this little woman again.
She is very much attracted to him but he also scares the shit out of her. When he proposes a deal to work off the debt she owes him she knows there is no other option than to go along with it.
As the story went on, I realised that I was completely smitten with and awed by this character.
It brought out in me a fiercely protective streak and pride in my gender.
What we may lack in physical strength, we make up for in sheer grit, determination, resolve and passion.
We are fierce and not to be underestimated. Hear us roar!
Seriously, this book…it got me right on the feels
A lesser person wouldn’t be able to come back from what December goes through but she fights and she fights.
My chest was uncomfortably tight at times from me fighting the tears.
TRIGGER WARNING! The following excerpt is super dark.
It makes you feel all kinds of emotional pain.
The first day she was here had been awful. After the Russians had forced the pair bond, she’d fainted, only to wake up with the one named Sergei fucking her on the floor like some sort of sex doll. The rest of the alphas had taken turns after that. She’d spent hours in hell, damaged flesh re-injured with every fresh penetration. When her crying became a nuisance and growling only made her cry more, they’d simply switched holes. Thank god, no one had tried to knot her ass.
NIKOLAI
This is the crime lord alpha, and what a specimen he is! Strong, dominant, aggressive and unforgiving. He demands the control of every room he walks into.
He wants the little omega from the first time he gets a whiff of her slick.
Not being a stupid man, he plays it down. A lot. He doesn’t want her to know that he intends to keep her for good.
This is a man used to getting what he wants and quite enjoys the fire inside December…to a point, lol.
I pretty much got wet for him from his first sentence, y’all.
He is strong and fierce but there is so much more to him.
Throughout this book he proves himself to be one of the deepest, most attentive and considerate characters I’ve had the pleasure to read about.
Yes, there were times where I wanted to punch him in the dick but he melted my heart and had me swooning in the end. I got a bit of a shock when I heard my own sigh escape my lips at several points throughout the book.
SEX SCENES
I was reading this book one-handed, you feel me?
It was hot as fuck! I had been desperate for them to seal the deal from the very beginning and was so not disappointed!
And guess what? Our boy is about 11 inches!
First of all, “ouch!” but then “Hell yeah!” you gotta love that kind of pain:-).
They locked eyes, and for a moment time seemed to stand still. He waited, his muscles trembling with the strain. “Say it!” He hissed, pressing forward so the tip of his member threatened penetration, but didn’t yet give it. Her addled brain struggled to understand what he wanted, but after several seconds of impatient twisting and fruitless bucking it finally seemed to click. “You really are an asshole!” She accused, fury sharpening her sweet face as she let loose of his hair and struck at his chest in anger. “Just do it already!” Her frown was severe, a pitiful whimper soon breaking the anger into despair. “Please… Please fuck me!”
FINAL THOUGHTS on DECEMBER by Merel Pierce
This was a book that touched my soul. I got lost in it for several hours and was gutted when I had to actually get out of my own nest (aka – the bed with a thousand pillows and blankets) and make my husband and child some dinner. How rude!
5 Stars
I loved this that of blending the themes Bratva and Omegaverse. I works so well. So beautifully painful at times and heartbreakingly lovely at others, these two characters who are worlds apart but yet brought together by date. Their internal struggles and hardships make the brutal story of rape and senseless cruelty against December not only really but you can see the love blooming between them as she heals emotionally through it with Nik’s help. It’s a definite add to you Omegaverse shelf.
