One draw of a card changes my life – because it’s not just any card.I read tarot cards. I’m the real deal, but my psychic abilities scare the shit out of me. I see the auras of the living. Sometimes the dead speak to me–and not always when I want them to. Just reading cards? Now, that’s safe.Except this morning, the cards said my life will change–and there’s no going back. Not super helpful. Why … going back.
Not super helpful. Why can’t they tell me the truth about my father’s unsolved murder, or that creeper I locked eyes with on the way to work this morning? Better yet, why not explain my vivid dreams involving five enthralling men?
About that change? Maybe it’s the total stranger who walks out of those dreams, into my life and opens the door to a reality neither of us could have predicted. The reality that this is my last chance to reconnect with my five soulmates from a previous lifetime, 7000 years ago.
I must find and re-awaken them. But in the process of finding one soulmate, I might’ve lost another one forever.
Will I uncover the truth about my father while finding my soulmates, before a serial killer finds me?
Yeah, I have so many questions, but I’ve learned to be careful what I ask. Because the cards never lie…but they don’t always tell the truth.
The Tower Card Murder is a Reverse-Harem Paranormal Romance featuring multiple love interests, a slow burn focusing on emotional connections with a steamy fade to black, and the reincarnation of the oldest recorded reverse harem story in human history. Oh yeah, and lots of tarot cards. This is the first book in the Tarot Arcana Mysteries series.

This is book one of the Tarot Arcana Mysteries series and the main character is Dee (Delphine) Arsenia who can see people’s auras and reads tarot cards, as well as speak to the dead. She isn’t a medium, she can only hear them, not see them. Her ability to read people’s auras is very useful at times, when she or her best friend Mel (Melanie) Alvarez, who lives in Dee’s house with her, are looking for a date. Not that Dee has dated in years, after the death of her high school boyfriend she ran away to Europe and slept around a lot, but nothing since. Her gran is very spiritual and new age, with powers stronger than Dee, who at times in her life has wished they weren’t there or ignored them. Her gran got her a pair of glasses that cut out all the aural static that would bombard her in crowded areas. Dee supplements her earnings reading tarot cards for people in a room within the Crystal Cloud Mystic Shop, but also takes photographs when she gets any strange feelings and has managed to sell some for a good profit. Mel works at the local hotel at the registration desk and thinks she may have met a handsome man that interests her, but after needing a double mastectomy, her then boyfriend was really cruel to her, leaving her lacking in self-confidence and afraid to take the next step to date again.
Dee’s powers began when she lost her mother aged just five and she learnt a lot more once her father was killed on the job when she was only thirteen and she went to live with her grandmother. Now she lives in the house her0 parents left to her, in Maryland. She always draws a card when she starts her day and this day, she drew the Tower card, reversed in an upside down position, which sent a chill down her spine! Her life is going to change, but she has no idea in what manner. When she finally got to the Mystic shop, she had a cancelled appointment, but then a walk in arrives. One very handsome, Dr Shay Hollande, who is trying to debunk tarot readers as fakes, but it also doing a project at the local university on reincarnation, which he does believe in. The cards she draws are very surprising and shock her so much, she ends up running out before she finishes. The man is one she saw in her dreams, one of five brothers she was involved with in a previous life, some seven thousand years ago! The men are all her soulmates and she can see a faint golden thread from each of them to her, similar to the silver threads she has seen on astral projections, connecting the person’s spirit to their body. The one with Shay is brighter and she arranges to meet him again to finish the reading, once she has visited her gran and explained some of the stuff that has been happening to her.
Dee also arranges to meet with her father’s old partner in the police force, who was there the night her dad was shot in a warehouse. Her dad still speaks to her all the time, never her mother, but he won’t speak about what happened to him that night and tells her not to get involved! She wants to know more about her father’s death and who was responsible, as it is now a cold case and was never solved. Her father had given her a warning about something bad coming her way, so whether it was this or something that she gets pulled into later, she isn’t sure. She used to have a crush on her dad’s partner Kyle from when she was about twelve and e has always sent her a present each year, but he still treats her like a kid and has never mentioned what happened. When she tries to draw the conversation back to that night, she is scared off by the change she can see in his aura and now has her doubts about him! She has found one of her soulmates, Shay and they have bonded together, but now a second one may have been pushed to the sidelines, by her meddling for Mel. If she loses any of her soulmates, this is the only lifetime they will have to reconnect together, according to her gran. A serial killer has her in his sights after she saw him, without knowing she had and she will need to run for her life. The cards may give her an insight into what is coming, but they should come with a warning. The cards can’t lie, but they sure don’t have to reveal the whole truth either!
A great start to this series and a really engaging character in Dee, who you are egging on to find all of her five soulmates and to be safe from whatever danger is stalking her, but she is also kind to others and has a great friend in Mel. More to come in her father’s case no doubt, as she now has questions about his partner and the recent danger she was in. She may have found two soulmates by the end of the first book, but the second is accused of murder and they decide to help see if she can talk to the dead victim and find out what truly happened. All to come in the next of the series. I look forward to reading them all! I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the books above.
Dee is a psychic that has learned she can also hears dead people and sees people’s auras. Well, the pasts few nights she’s been having a recurring dream where she’s being asked to chose between five men with whom she is sharing a feast in the dream. Five Men! Upon awakening, though she needs to go to her work as a tarot reader at a local store, she quickly does her own tarot card of the day and comes up with The Tower, reversed. With the help of her grandmother she finds out she had five soulmates in a past life and that the life she is leading now is the last chance to reconnect with those soulmates. While looking into her past life, Dee also tries to find out what happened with her father. Whew, she has A LOT going on!
I received this as an Advanced Reader Copy from Booksprout with the hopes I would like it and review it.

The great plot was professionally written, and the characters were so well developed that as I turned each page the chemistry between the characters kept me totally hooked until the very last page!
First book in the Tarot Arcane Mysteries series. Delphine “Dee” has powers that even she doesn’t fully understand. She mostly harnesses them with her tarot cards. This book is not a standalone and while it doesn’t end on a big cliffhanger the story does continue on into the next book. You will have to read multiple books before Dee’s main soulmates story arc is complete. While there are steamy parts the book focuses more on the story and emotions of Dee’s memories and the connection with her soulmates. Each book is adding to Dee’s story. In this book Dee discovers that her vivid dreams are actually memories of time spent with her fire soulmates. Now she needs to find these five men. Entertaining story and I’m really looking forward to reading the next book.

The Tower Card Murder is an interesting premise using tarot cards as a primary part of the story. I was interested in the interpretations of the cards, and in the characters’ reactions to the same. The main character, Delphine, has a strong connection to the cards, which we see come into play throughout the story on multiple occasions. The cards also seem to play the role of a gateway, as they open the way for Delphine to explore other talents. All of the characters were interesting and had back stories that would make for good side stories. The pacing of the book is good, and kept events moving along steadily. I’m interested to see where the next book in the series goes, both with the tarot cards, and with the romance aspect.

First going into this book, I wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy it. It took me a bit to get into but once it did, it was impossible for me to put down and had me eager to jump into the next book in the series right away. I loved the work and found the characters to be great, they each had their own individual personalities and really played well with each other. The plot was great and full of twists and turns that kept me on edge trying to guess what was going to happen next. So ready to jump into the next book.
Five out of five stars.

Dee is a woman with different psychic abilities, who channels some of those through tarot card reading. One day she does a reading for herself and from that moment on her life vastly changes. With the help of her grandmother she finds out she had five soulmates in a previous life and that the life she is leading now is the last chance to reconnect with those soulmates. While looking into her past life, Dee also tries to find out what happened with her father when she was thirteen years old.
I like the fact that in this series the harem builds over several books, and that it takes some time to find out who her soulmates will be. I also enjoyed the description of aura’s. In single POV books I often miss the perspective of the guys, but through their aura’s you get some information about their intentions and emotions. I usually prefer books with a slow to medium burn; this book feels better suited for the fans of fast burn or at least readers that prefer some action beneath the sheets in the books they read. For me it all went a little too fast, but that is a personal preference. It also bothers me a little that she ends up in bed with men she does not know at all, and that they don’t speak about the use of condoms at all.
All in all it feels like a series with some promising possibilities, so I am curious to find out how the rest of the series develops.

Our heroine is immersed in the tarot, which helps guide her actions. What they reveal, however, it not always what one wants.
This is book one of the series. An excellent place to start.
This is a paranormal romance with a reverse harem theme. That being said, there is no on-screen steamy scenes, so take that as you will. As for the story itself, wow. It is well written and easy to read, but that comes with a down side of sorts. I found that the story grabs you from the start and doesn’t let go, making such mundane things as eating, work and sleep very difficult. Both the characters and the setting are well developed with lots of detail. The setting in particular has me fascinated and I just want to learn more. Overall, this was a great start to a series and I definitely look forward to the next book.
Highly recommended.
I received an ARC from the author for review purposes.
Delphine Arsenia was young when she discovered that she could see auras, and in college when she found out she can hear ghosts speak. She pays her bills by doing tarot card readings at a local mystic shop and photography. Unfortunately, taking a photo in the wrong place at the wrong time will make her the target of a killer. She is also searching for her soul mates from a past life, five men she has been dreaming about and will find two of them.
Well written, sexy, sometimes funny, and interesting characters in a plot with some fascinating twists. I thought this was a wonderful read, I couldn’t put it down.
I am voluntarily leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of this ARC.
The story is extremely intriguing and different. I loved all the mystery and suspense throughout the story. I loved hearing about Dee and her past life. It is very well written and has a great flow to the story. Yes, there is a part, not saying what it is so I don’t add any spoilers to this, but it is odd how it was put. This part is near the end and even though it was odd I seem to understand what is trying to be said by it. Dee and Mel have this incredible friendship where they are so close that her mate asking to help her friend wouldn’t be a bad thing to her. Shay and Yuri both have this incredible protective personality with caring and love in it. With them having past lives together that are so strong it is felt throughout the story. It is an amazing story that is most definitely worth reading.
** spoiler alert ** Dee has never fully accepted who she is. Now she must struggle to put together the past, present and future. Will she learn to accept everything?
Overall, this was a good first book in the series and had a different spin to what I am used to reading when it comes to Reverse Harem Paranormal. I liked how Dee was determined to do what was right and try what she could. One thing I did kind of question was her go ahead for Shay and her friend. Can’t to see where the next one goes!
