This romance is an attention grabber right from the start with strong, bold characters that leap from the pages. The story starts out a steady pace giving readers enough of the hero and heroine’s back stories that make it easy for the readers to relate to them and then picks up the pace and proceeds at a fast clip full of suspense, romance and passion. The romance between War and Kerrigan sizzles with lots of chemistry but the situation they are in looms over them and uncertainty of the future holds the outcome of this relationship in suspense until the very end.
The plot is full of emotional turmoil and thrilling suspense as with some unexpected twists, especially during the conflict’s climax. If readers have read the books in The Stone Society, then they are already aware of this fascinating and wonderful world full of refreshingly different shifters, thrilling suspense and passionate romance and if they haven’t then they are in for quite a treat as this story introduces them to a whole new world to enjoy.
A twisted and emotion filled romance read
Warryck, a retired psychology professor, feels a pull to look for Kerrigan, a bartender, who has been missing for a few months. As the story progresses details of her past come to light, getting out of the frying pan becomes troublesome, and they may end up finding more than each other if they fight hard enough. Faith Gibson’s Waging War is a twisted and emotion filled romance read set in her Stone Society world. I can’t wait to read about more brothers both blood and MC.
I received a arc and volunteer to review this book. All of the books and characters that Faith writers about are fantastic. I love the Stone Society series and this series is the next .
Waging War is a new shifter romance from Faith Gibson. This time they are Gryphon’s (head, talons and wings of an eagle with a lion’s body) but don’t worry there are Gargoyles too! My favorite series of Faith Gibson has been her Gargoyle series but I now have a new favorite, The Hounds of Zeus MC). A Motorcycle club romance with a shifter element! What could be better than that?
This is Kerrigan & Warryck’s story. Kerrigan was running away from an abusive boyfriend only to sink herself into worse trouble with a cult. She was picked up on the road after her car was broken down by a cult member. Now she is being held by Brother Gideon. She finally escapes and fortunately Warryck is close because you should have read about the last girl that tried to escape and was attacked by the dogs.
I loved the chemistry between Warryck and Kerrigan. They were destined to find each other.
Waging War is a spinoff from Stone Society (gargoyles) and we get to read more about Lucy and Tamian. Lucy helps find Kerrigan with her computer genius skills.
I couldn’t be more thrilled with this new series. I can’t wait for the next book in this series or whatever book that Faith Gibson is writing. I know that it will find it’s way to my Kindle because I love all her books especially her shifter romances. You won’t have to read the Stone Society to know what is going on but I do highly suggest them. Only because they are really really GOOD! 5+ STARS for Waging War! I LOVED it!
3 stars
Warryck is a gryphon shifter and has been alone since his wife died twenty some years ago. Instead of continuing with the Hounds of Zeus, his family motorcycle club, he gives his baby girl up and becomes a professor. When he start to get bored, he quits and job and starts to travel on his motorcycle. Kerrigan works as a bartender and lives with her abusive boyfriend. When he beats her, she finally decides to leave but her car breaks down. She accepts a ride from a stranger and ends up in some sort of cult. Kidnapped and held against her will, Kerrigan finds a way to escape. Warryck is investigating her disappearance when he finally gets a lead. He swoops in and rescues her, before she’s mauled by a dog. Something about her draws him to her. Will she be able to handle his secrets?
Ok several places the same thing was repeated. Then The Who prologue is told again later in the book. I also got confused on several parts and had to reread it several times to figure it out. Now there were so good parts and if you can get around the other repeated stuff, it’s a good story. Shifters, post apocalyptic future, and sex.
Waging War (The Hounds of Zeus book1) by Faith Gibson is the story of Warryck Lazlo. He a Gryphon shifter which means he can shift into an eagle or a lion. His race is a creation of the Greek God Zeus who has made them to be the protectors of the human race. He is a college professor who has turned his back on his family and the family business after his wife was killed. The Hounds of Zeus is a motorcycle club ran by his family and fellow Gryphons. After deciding to make a life change he decides to reconnect with his twin brother and his daughter he gave up at birth. We first meet everyone in Tamian which is the last book in The Stone Society Series. This is a book about gargoyles, another creature designed to watch out for mankind. In this post apocalyptic world a society of religious fanatics have made it their mission to advance their agenda at any cost. The two story intersect in this book. If you haven’t read The Stone Society series please do. I love it. This story didn’t disappoint. While Warryck aka War is bonding with his twin Maverick they overhear a conversation about a missing women Kerrigan O’Shea. While escaping her abusive boyfriend Kerrigan finds herself in a cult on a farm where women are used and abused. She has been taken by that fanatical religious society. The story is told from Kerrigan’s experience and also War’s experience and the two stories finally intersect and merge. A story with many twist and turns, secrets were revealed and lives were definitely changed by the end of this book. This was a great story to a start of a series that has me salivating for more. The end of this story just set up for the start of everyone else’s story. 5 stars. Great start.
