Tiffany Roberts ranks as one of my favorites and is an auto-buy, so I was thrilled to see this author duo dive into a whole new universe with rich, detailed world building that is one of their strong points in all their books! Silent Lucidity is no different, and while it’s a science fiction romance, it’s definitely reminiscent of the epic fantasies I read when I used to have more time for reading. This novel brings to mind the Drizzt novels by R.A. Salvatore with the level of world-building, the hero’s character, and the amount of action packed into this story, yet there’s also plenty of steam and lots of romance in Silent Lucidity to keep it grounded in the SFR genre, and the characters are delightfully unique in their own right, as is the futuristic cyberpunk-style city of Arthos. I loved it and I cannot wait for book 2!

Tenthil is an assassin modified by the Master. Tenthil has had much taken from him just to kill for the Void and none of this life was his choice.
Abella is Terran, but that doesn’t matter because she is nothing more than a pet on this planet. Abella wears a collar, is kept in a cage and has been punished regularly by her captor since she was abducted from Earth.
This was an excellent book. The idea that Tenthill was modified and programmed since he was a young child yet still holds strong to his basic instincts is a testament to how strong a beings will can be. Silent Lucidity is a beautiful story about what one would do to be with and or save the one you love. I’d recommend this to all adult SFR fans.
Abella is a young dancer who was abducted by aliens, to be treated as a pet by a cruel alien master. While she’s dancing at an nightclub in the seedy underbelly of the planet, Tenthil, an assassin shows up to make a hit. But he sees Abella, and realizes she’s his mate and he must have her. Distracted by Abella, his hit goes awry. He’d also been abducted from his home world, and is forced to work as an acolyte assassin for the Master of the Order. Risking his life, he goes back to the club, kills Abella’s master and rescues her. Now, they are both on the run from the Order.
The world-building is very detailed (almost down to the nuts and bolts of the construction of the undercity), the alien races very descriptive, and the action non-stop. Silent Lucidity is an SFR Die Hard on steroids.
I’m swiftly turning into a Tiffany Roberts fangirl. I’ve been devouring this series so far! This particular installment had me tearing through the pages. Super action-packed with a hero that melts your heart. Also, some fantastic side characters too!
Oh my freaking gods Tiffany And Rob you guys has surpassed every thing that you have written as far as I’m concerned, the world building of silent lucidity is incredible and you have a talent of building characters that are loveable and unforgettable. Abella and Tenthil are two different individual and was brought in by chance and instinct on Tenthil side. Their love is eternal and pure that not even death can keep them apart. My nerves couldn’t stand the suspense and the explosive battles that Tenthil faced to saved abella.
I am so glad for the epilogue I was a bit worried I didn’t expected the kids (spoiler allert) I can’t wait for alkorin’s book and I do hope that more books are coming after. Thanks guys for your fantastical and magical minds.
I don’t typically get into romance novels, but I needed a break and took a chance on this one. I’m glad I did. As soon as I finished Silent Lucidity, I purchased the next book in the series, and I ended up devouring all four of the current Infinite City books within two weeks. The character development and world building in this series is exemplary, and the interactions between the characters feels natural without being forced. The authors let the story tell itself, and it shows in the solid pace and rich storytelling.
I loved this book, i will never forget it, the moment I started reading, i couldn’t put it down. The world and character building is Phenomenal and the characters point of views are enlightening and entertaining experienced. I highly recommend this book, if you want to immerse yourself in a wonderful fantasy world than I dare you to read this fantastic book, it’s an overwhelming experienced for me in a good way. It’s a hauntingly beautiful story.
Wow! This book was so hard to put down. Lots of action and steamy sex. The characters were well developed everything built up to an action packed ending. As soon as Tenthil laid eyes on Abella, that was it – his mate. He saved her from her captor and found it impossible to let her go. Abella didn’t want to go from one captor to another. They had time to learn about each, to fall in love and to fight for that love. Loved the epilogue.
A fine tale of freedom
His first sight of the dancing human slave girl totally derails Tenthil the assassin. So spellbound that he blows his cover and bungles his mission, he throws away home, career, everything and everyone in his life in order to free the sad beauty whose eyes saw into his soul. The compulsion enslaves him and he doesn’t understand it; yet he risks everything to find and free to her. In their hair-raising, nearly fatal journey to freedom, Tenthil learns that he and his soulmate are more alike than different. Both were stolen and forced into slavery, but it is Tenthil who is far more enslaved that he ever knew. Both learn to re-define freedom, there’s an HEA, but the body count and the brutality occasionally make for tough reading. I thought the action scenes were the strength of the book; they are so incredibly and excitingly detailed you can see it al in your mind’s eye. The romance didn’t quite catch fire for me. Too many repetitive “he/she felt” inner monologues stalled the progression from lust to love. The hero’s reluctance to speak is a writer’s choice that hinders rather than advances the romance, and robs it of emotional impact. Still, I recommend this book, warts and all – the author duo that is Tiffany Roberts has done better, but this effort has its merits. I will continue with the series.
First release in The Infinite City series.
A blending of true science fiction with its blade runner-esq imagery crossed with a whole plethora of fantasy aliens and a massive dose of ass kicking anti-hero and full on ‘off the charts’ romantic chemistry.
A totally new direction of sci-fi romance by these two authors who are known for their highly addictive reads. I’m loving where this series is going. The amount of world building and development of characters and action scenes kinda blew my mind.
It was very fast paced and filled with action which was not only well written but kept me gripped to my seat.
Bring on book 2
