Watch King & Maxwell, TNT’s new series based on David Baldacci’s blockbuster novels, on Mondays at 10 p.m. (ET/PT) After the #1 New York Times bestsellers Split Second, Hour Game, Simple Genius, and First Family, Sean King and Michelle Maxwell return in their most shocking case: a high stakes struggle where the relentless needs of national security run up against the absolute limits of the … of national security run up against the absolute limits of the human mind.
THE SIXTH MAN
Edgar Roy–an alleged serial killer held in a secure, fortress-like Federal Supermax facility-is awaiting trial. He faces almost certain conviction. Sean King and Michelle Maxwell are called in by Roy’s attorney, Sean’s old friend and mentor Ted Bergin, to help work the case. But their investigation is derailed before it begins–en route to their first meeting with Bergin, Sean and Michelle find him murdered.
It is now up to them to ask the questions no one seems to want answered: Is Roy a killer? Who murdered Bergin? With help from some surprising allies, they continue to pursue the case. But the more they dig into Roy’s past, the more they encounter obstacles, half-truths, dead-ends, false friends, and escalating threats from every direction. Their persistence puts them on a collision course with the highest levels of the government and the darkest corners of power. In a terrifying confrontation that will push Sean and Michelle to their limits, the duo may be permanently parted.more
OH HOLY COW!!!!!
I really didn’t think this series could get better than the last one (“First Family”). I was so. very. wrong.
Full of twists and turns that are classic Baldacci (and classic King and Maxwell), the end of the book will leave you just GASPING for air!!! I could hardly put this book down!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
The is the fifth of the Sean King and Michelle Maxwell novels I have read. It may be the best of the five. It certainly takes turns and has surprises the others lacked. Not to denigrate the other books, they were wonderful stories too. This one is slightly better because of the surprises found in the story. I will not tell you the story. You must …
I started this book expecting it might be the one in the series that, based on the back cover blurb, sent me running from David Baldacci because the plot too over the top to be believable.
It was and it wasn’t. As always Baldacci delivers a well-told tale full of twists and turns and unrelenting tension. But I had a little trouble buying into the …
This is one of my favorites.
Enjoyed plot, twists, characters, outcomes.
Another great read from David Baldacci. Unusual character.
All his books are awesome! Just be sure you read them in order!
Not as good as some of the other in this series, perhaps because I read, rather than listened? Not sure exactly WHO Kelly Paul was — did the author every clarify that and I missed it? She was more the driving force in this installment than Seam or Michelle.
Couldn’t put it down. I fell in love with the characters.
Great Baldacci read as usual. The Sixth Man was much like the previous four in the series. King and Maxwell work well together, and this story had a couple of twists…one I saw coming and another that surprised me.
My only critique was that I would have liked more of a personal wrap-up between Sean and Michelle. But that is more of a reader …
love everything Baldacci writes!!!
Great story. Typical of Baldacci – intriguing plot and characters.
1 of my favorite authors.
Love this author and especially like the King and Maxwell characters. It is great to have a heroic female lead not just another girl Friday.
Very entertaining
Great read, keep them coming.
