The romance between Trevor and Honor begins to blossom but is interrupted when a deadly situation develops. The five men from the diner have followed them and brought more men as backup, surrounding the lodge and disabling Trevor’s truck.
With no outside communication and few resources, Wolf and Trevor must unravel the mystery as to why they are being followed and call on all their SEAL training and experience to protect Honor and Caroline. “Protecting Honor” culminates in an explosive, action-packed sequence of events.

Short, sweet, action packed, romance between a broken hearted Seal and a terrorized woman trying to learn to survive.
Protecting Honor is the first of three novellas centering on Honor and Trevor and connected to Susan Stoker’s Special Forces world. This is the first story by Jacobson I have read and it was a fun read. Even though it is short, it is packed with plenty of action, suspense and budding romance; and the secondary characters being Caroline and Matthew “Wolf” was a nice surprise and great addition to the story.
Honor Carpenter is a naïve, sweet, shy woman still recovering from a traumatic event in her teen years that has left her emotionally scarred. After years of therapy she is trying to find herself and regain her independence. Returning home from a solo trip to a friend’s wedding she had no idea that stopping for gas would end up having her depend on strangers for help and her very survival. With a terrible snowstorm approaching and a flat tire, she is befriended by Trevor and his friends and takes shelter with them at his lodge unaware of the danger lurking in the darkness. She is immediately drawn to Trevor and wants to know him better and feels a kinship with his friends. When danger arrives, she knows they will help keep her safe and help her return home safely.
Trevor Saunders is a Navy SEAL who is recovering from a breakup and ready for a change. He has inherited a closed down lodge and brings his friend Wolf and his wife Caroline to help him access its’ current condition and the possibility of renovation to open it again. While stopping for gas and a bite to eat before the last leg of their journey, he rescues a young woman from a confrontation with a mean drunk. His protective instincts flare and his curiosity is piqued by her. She is full of contradictions, shy but strong, brave but insecure and he wants to know more. Little did he know that sharing a meal and offering her shelter to ride out the storm would change their lives.
This is an easy read with great characters, lots of suspense and light romance. Trevor and Honor made a sweet couple and I enjoyed seeing her personal growth and their bond strengthen. After reading this novella, I actually purchased the next two stories to see where their journey takes them next.

I like this book because there is a lot of action and a mystery to be solved. You’ll see Wolf and caroline in this book. When Honor wants to leave her home and her father she heads to Seattle and gets stuck in a snow storm. Lucky for her Trevor and Wolf and Caroline come to her aide. They also notice 5 men watching them. Is it a coincidence or trouble. There’s some steam to go along with this book.
