Well, I’ve made it to the finale, book six, of Kathi S. Barton’s “Blood Brotherhood” series. What started with excitement and a touch of sadness to see this series end has turned into a touch of awe and a feeling of warmth and satisfaction. If you’ve followed the series, then you’ll remember that Nathaniel didn’t want to be with this group … at all. As a matter of fact, he was in such a place of despair he was set on doing away with himself. He didn’t want to interact with anyone, didn’t want to hardly come out of his room, and then of all things, got himself captured by Benton, taken to another realm, and put in a cage, then he was filled with drugs that he had no idea what would do to him. With no way to escape, he was not only surprised but grateful the brotherhood, in force, had come to his rescue. If Nathaniel, aka Nate, had felt like a failure before, he was feeling pretty worthless after the rescue. Over time, Nate has started interacting and training with the others. He’s also tatted with one huge difference. He has a mural tattoo on his back he can feel move as things change. He’s also having nightmares about finding his mate and not only losing her to Benton but all of them being killed during the same confrontation. Beth has been told she has an enlarged heart that is non-operable and given six months to live. As much as she loves her parents, well mostly her father, she doesn’t want to have to put them through that. So, she’s bought a large travel trailer and see the country until her time comes. Her father is her world and it’s hard for her to leave him but her mother is the epitome of a narcissist. So much so that Beth knows if she stays she won’t last six months. This was the perfect example of human emotion, morals, tolerance, and love I could’ve asked for in a story. The ultimate good vs. evil fight had me clenching muscles waiting to see the outcome. Absolutely, hands down, a great ending to a terrific series.
So sad another series comes to an end.
Kathi has been on a role in 2016!
Nathaniel has been having dreams lately and his markings are now showing him when the woman who is meant to be his will be showing up. But between dreams of her death by Benton and his new modified size after being drugged he knows he can never actually claim the one woman who will complete him.
**”Christ, how do you tell a woman that you’d like to f*** her hard enough to move mountains, but you are terrified that while you’re at it, you’ll tear her up inside?”**
Beth knows if she stays at home between her mother’s constant nagging and watching her strong father get walked all over she won’t survive the 6-8 months the doctor gave her to live. She has resigned herself to dying and can’t think of any reason or way to want to live anymore.
**”Hector said that when you arrived, we’d be stronger. I though it was you were going to be the most powerful of us all. And you are, just not with muscle. Your thinking, it’s what is going to get us out of this war and on to better things.”**
When it comes to these two they will need help from others in the group to see mistakes that will be made if they don’t claim each other. With the help of Beth will the Brotherhood finally defeat Benton and take back control of the Earth? Will Nate realize what a mistake it would be to never claim his woman?
