She is SO not his type… deliciously handsome cowboy bossing her in the kitchen and meddling in her personal life. All she wants is him for dessert. They can’t deny their chemistry is explosive, but can they handle the heat when things get messy in the kitchen?
A standalone novel filled with racy shenanigans in and out of the kitchen, and a Happily Ever After that will have you reaching for the tissues!

Jamey has made a really big mistake professionally by not having a contract with her partner/boyfriend. Now with an unexpected diagnosis of celiac disease, she can’t tolerate any form of gluten and loses everything she worked so hard for.
Brodie has been put in charge of the new hunting lodge, but he’s lost quite a few chefs and his brother’s at his wits end. An ultimatum is issued and the new Chef is on the way.
A phone call from Maddie changes everything for Jamey. Now she has a job but when she hears she’s going to be working and living with Brodie she’s not so sure anymore. Can she work with Brody without giving in to her feelings for him?
Oh what a tangled web. Jamey hasn’t told anyone about her illness, and is doing a gluten free kitchen. A very successful one at that, and a little help from Dottie with biscuits.
Then there’s Brodie who has the biggest secret of all. The problem is his secret could ruin the business.
I couldn’t stop reading, these two are hysterical together. Oh and the heat between them is kindle melting. Moving on to the next book, I love the progression.
Jamey O’Neill and Brodie Sinclaire are the central characters in “Prairie Passion”, the second book in the Cowboys of Flint Hills Series by Tessa Layne. Jamey is the chef at Brodie’s ranch and is best friends with Maddie, who is married to his brother Blake. She took the job as a favor to Blake because Brodie was doing a terrible job of running the ranch. Jamey and Brodie have secrets that even their families don’t know about. Will they be able to overcome them to find happiness and a future together?
I love the way Tessa’s characters aren’t perfect, but I know they will capture your heart. I thoroughly enjoyed “Prairie Passion” and I can’t wait to read Tessa’s next book, “Prairie Desire.”
Drama and passion continue in the Flint Hills. The saga is still addictive and intriguing.
The youngest Sinclaire, Brodie and Jamey, Maddie Sinclaire’s best friend and chef from Chicago get real hot in the kitchen at the new Sinclaire Lodge. It is a 6-week arrangement to get the Lodge on its feet with Brodie at the helm and Jamey in the kitchen.
I just love the devilishly wild Brodie with the ever Irish hot-head Jamey. He oozes charm and sex appeal that Jamey has difficulty resisting. It is so much fun watching them together. The fact that they each have such a big secret that makes your heart ache, adds to the tension and suspense of what will happen next.
All the regular characters of Prairie are here in this book continuing to add their few cents worth as well as Jamey’s brothers from Boston. They are fabulous and I enjoy all their personalities!
Prairie Passion by Tessa Layne is book number two in the Cowboys of the Flint Hills series. This is Brodie Sinclaire and Jamey O’Neill’s story.
Brodie needs to make a success of the hunting lodge that his brothers have built. If Brodie doesn’t get his act together, then he may have to go to work someplace else. The first thing that Brodie needs to do is get a cook that stays longer than week. This is where fiery redheaded Jamey comes in. Due to relationship issues and a health diagnosis Jamey is in need of a fresh start. The hunting lodge cook position may be a place where she get a fresh start.
Brodie and Jamey both are dealing with some difficult issues in their life. They also have things to prove to others as well as themselves. When these two get together things sure do heat up. How will they handle this attraction between them? Will they allow the difficulties in their life to prevent them from finding true love?
I really enjoyed their story. So, curl up and take a journey with Brodie and Jamey. Their journey is filled with happiness, sadness, and some hot intimate moments.
FYI, includes mature content. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Can two who butt heads realize they love each other? Must read!
Brody and Janie’s chemistry was there from the beginning and built threw the whole story.
I’m going to do this kind of backwards, because I adored the ending. But, yikes, Jamey and Brodie are difficult characters to like. They’re both keeping really big secrets that fill them with shame. And that’s where I kind of lost the plot. Neither secret was particularly shameful. Certainly not worth all the angst that’s created in the story over them. I can almost understand Brodie’s situation. He’s spent a lot of years with his issue undiagnosed and spent most of those same years being ridiculed for it. But I’m still baffled by how Jamey’s medical condition should result in her being blackballed from her profession. When this book was published, Celiac disease and other problems with wheat gluten were fairly widely recognized diagnoses. Jamey’s behavior about this makes the story feel a lot more dated than it really is.
I received a complimentary copy of this book.
Yes! It was everything I expected. After being introduced to Brodie in the first book of the series I knew I would love him in his own story. He is my favorite Sinclaire brother. He was a little stubborn but it came from embarrassment and low self worth. I was very protective him even more because he was so unsure of himself. Which was why I wasn’t pleased with Blake or Jamey. I think after I read the rest of the books he’s still going to be my favorite. I love your books Tessa. Until next time y’all happy reading.
Prairie Passion, what can I say about this book. It was a book that brought many different emotions out in me. I felt happy, sad, angry, frustrated and the sexy times were amazing!
In the beginning, I was not a fan of Jamey. She was a harsh character and all she did was bitch at Brodie. He seemed to not mind it, but there were times I wondered if a guy would really stay around and deal with that even if she was hot. I was able to get past this because as the reader, you were able to read her thoughts and understand why she reacts the way she does. As the story progressed, I really started liking her. She is a headstrong woman who keeps having more and more things thrown at her and she deals with them privately which doesn’t allow for much of a support system. The part of Jamey that I really respected was how she dealt with Brodie after she found out what was going on with him.
I really liked Brodie, to me he has so much depth to him. On the outside he was the lazy slacker that was just looking for a good time and a laugh. All the while, no one knew he has the horrible secret that was preventing him from feeling worthy. He also was one sexy dude. When it comes out what his issue is, all you want to do is hug him. Finding out what his dad did to him because of it and the lengths his mom tried to help.
I liked the chemistry between these two. Once the conversation went from bitching to flirting, you got to see Brodie in his element. To have a man say the things he said and the fun responses that Jamey gave right back was hot to read.
