This is the second time I have read this book–I have never read a book a second time and I am glad that I did.
I learned and understood more the second time around.
Continuous hot action, thought provoking story line, timely reality based story line.
I loved it and did not put it down until I finished it. Give me more.
Four hundred sixteen pages and when the end came I was still clamoring for more! A brilliant female terrorist and a dazzling female special agent lock horns on this scorchingly fast paced action story. John Ling is a writer to watch!
I received a copy of this book with no strings attached.
International thriller. A son of a high ranking American, Owen, gets kidnapped. A mission is launched to find him and bring the terrorist to justice.
Maya and Adam are part of the team that is sent in for this mission. A mission filled with danger. Can they rescue the boy and get out alive?
Rebellion features a compelling story of war between nations and questions arise of the ethics and cruelties of that war where the friend of my enemy is my friend and my enemy. Main characters Maya and Adam end up doing their duty and answering questions later. Very exciting and thrilling read and is action packed. John Ling gifts the reader with a book that one does not wish to end but is compelled to keep turning those pages fast to find out what happens next and is not disappointed to find a LOT happens next. Left me feeling like I wanted more for sure! I’m hooked now on an Author who has mastered his craft. Eat your heart out Tom Clancy!! Kudos to Mr. Ling for a very satisfying read. I HIGHLY recommend Rebeillion.
Besides been a good story that keeps you turning the pages it also an eye opener in many ways. How life in a country can rapidly change for the worse. The wealthy and foreigners keep them self safe in gated communities while the rest of the populations tries to survive. The brutality of the local law enforcement and military. The realization that US interference and support of a government is not always making things better but often makes the situation worse. This is happening in many places in the world. It seems history has not thought us anything seeing the same mistake are made over and over again. The two female lead characters have strong personalities, each one fighting for what they think is wright but also have their regrets with the result achieved. I’m looking forward to reading the other books in the series.
I enjoy all John’s books. He is an exceptionally talented writer. And, he keeps in touch with is readers to get feedback.
I’ve only interacted with him by email, but I think he is someone I would like to sit down and talk with; share stories of his life.
Rebellion is an attention grabber from the first page. I will not go into the story or the characters. That would be giving too much away. You must read the book for yourself. You WILL enjoy it. (And, if you don’t, that’s okay.)
