“Don’t judge a book by it’s cover.” I’ve heard that adage so much, it’s almost cliche, but the best cliches have a hint of truth to them. Schroeder puts her own spin on a saying we hear, yet chose to ignore. A Good Time is a look at the impact image has on everyday life. Griffin and Indy think with their hearts and many a time that has not proved wise. When the time comes for them to chose between what they want and what others say, will each have the courage to make the right choice? Shannyn Schroeder found a deliciously, tempting way to warm hearts and deliver an entertaining story with a powerful message.
This was an amazing story that had me laughing at times and screaming at my kindle because the character would do something I did not like.
Indy is a real estate agent that is looking for her big break into the real estate world. She loves her life having just dumped her boyfriend and decided to do the one night stands instead of a relationship. It’s better this way no strings attached and no hard feelings and no one gets hurt. This carefree life is what she needs working in this industry. Then she gets her big client that she has been waiting for. Griffin is filthy rich and he is in the market for a home so he hires Indy as his real estate agent.
Griffin is a billionaire and he has money to spend and he is looking for a new home. He hires Indy because he wants her help finding a home but he also wants her in his bed. He thinks one night with the hot real estate agent will scratch his itch he has for her but then they have that one night and for Griffin it is not enough. He needs more of Indy and he knows he will have to convince her to give him a chance because he is known as a play boy.
Plus Griffin will have to contend with the ex-boyfriend because he wants Indy back. This is a funny romance that will have you laughing and screaming at the same time. So go ahead and one click it!
Good Book….wished it had a better ending. Still a happy ever after ending, but didn’t seem complete. Would still recommend it. Happy Reading! 🙂
Indy and Griffin’s story is very convoluted. However, it is worth keeping track of the players and their role in messing up people’s lives and motivating their behaviors. I like the tech billionaire stories and this one’s goal of a foundation for at-risk kids. The parenthood question and gap in time make for a unique element. The O’Leary family is awesome. This one has some very interesting twists and turns, Well written sex scenes.
11/04/2021 “A Good Time” (nook) has a catchy first sentence which leads to an involved story. I had only 40 pages remaining and I really did not want to put down the book. But, it was 3 a.m. – I went to bed. I finished the book today. Ms. Schroeder has a well-written story of angst and love.
I am disappointed with the ending. I wanted more information. Do they have a DNA test on the baby? Who is the father? What happened to Griffin’s father, Malcom?
The story, the hero, and writing style were wonderful but I hate abrupt endings. When the problem builds up for 250+ pages and the HEA is little more than a paragraph it leaves me frustrated and wanting more. Every story needs an Epilogue not an abrupt promise.
