For a moment, a face flashed before my eyes–the most hideous face I’d ever seen. No matter how hard I tried to forget what had happened, I saw him everywhere I went. It was Loki–the evil god that I’d helped set free against my will.I should have known that my first official date with Logan Quinn was destined to end in disaster. If we’d gotten into a swordfight, or been ambushed by Reapers, I’d … Reapers, I’d have been more prepared. But getting arrested mid-sip at the local coffee hangout? I didn’t see that one coming. I’ve been accused of purposely helping the Reapers free Loki from his prison–and the person leading the charge against me is Linus Quinn, Logan’s dad. The worst part is that pretty much everyone at Mythos Academy thinks I’m guilty. If I’m going to get out of this mess alive, I’ll have to do it myself. . .

And the plot thickens again with book four in the series. There’s honestly not much I can say about the plot without giving away spoilers because there is just that much going on. This book started with a jaw dropper and then the action never stopped. I like that there are so many mysteries and puzzle pieces to keep up with in the series. The danger gets really intense and we see Gwen finally stepping up and taking some control of the situation. Jennifer Estep also writes great villains that you love to hate! They are so wicked and terrible. My only question is where in the heck are all these adults when Reapers are invading the academy and creating havoc?! They keep saying the academy is the safest place, but you’d never know it with how many seem to be hanging out in the place.
A crimson read!
If she’s going to get out of this mess alive, she’ll have to do it herself…
I think this book is my favourite in this series – the struggles and the decisions and the sacrifices the heroine must make and go through. Such a brave girl.
I love how her friends and family all rally and support her – absolutely amazing. Stunning read!
Full of gods, goddesses, champions, family, Gypsies, visions, magic, truths, secrets, creatures and romance.
Perfect for readers of paranormal romances/urban fantasy romances/mythology reads.
This series is enticing with it’s mythological world. I found some of the things to be easy to predict such as who the Reaper Girl was in the last book and who Her inside man is in this book. It could be because I read a lot and watch shows based on finding who it is. Logan and Gwen kinda were thrown together in the first book with not much more than sarcasm and mural attraction. Finally they are getting together and… Then not so much. While it isn’t unexpected from TEENAGERS I do expect more of a substantial relationship when they are together. So far there hasn’t been much reason or moment between them. However I enjoyed the book and plot as well as the use of all mythology blended into one culture.
Poor Gwen! Best one yet – so much happening. Though Gwen and Logan are officially together you’d think they’d have a better start for a first date, but nope – Estep throws Gwen’s life right into more chaos and uncertainty. Love the twists and turns in this one and all the new reveals. Her friends are awesome; I love the tight-knit group and that they stand beside each other no matter what! We also get an intro to a few more awesome characters that I hope will stick around. And Logan’s dad makes an appearance and dislikes Gwen from the start – he’s pretty hard and intense. This book is definitely a game changer in the series. Intrigue, political problems, tension in relationships, family drama and so much more. It’s an edge-of-your-seat, nail-biting experience for sure!
This was my favorite book in the series so far. It starts out doing so well. Gwen and Logan are FINALLY on their first date. If you’ve been reading this series, (and I strongly suggest you read it in order), you’ll know that there is a strong sense of waiting for something to go wrong. But at least they finally got to go out, right. Well, let’s just say there might not be another date. Since Gwen is once again in trouble. The story keeps you on your toes. Lots of action, surprises, and fighting.
I had so much fun listening to this book. Yes, I listened to the audio, and the narrator is awesome. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes YA urban fantasy.
