4 star Review of Cherishing The Goddess by Lucy Eden
Alexander (Alex) Wolfe has spent years putting his business ahead of everything and he is finally close to admitting that he is burnt out. When an opportunity arises for him to go head to head against a corporate raider who he has always admired, he jumps at it. Determined to make this deal the biggest success of his career, he heads to Barbados to close the deal in person.
When he meets Calypso (Callie) Sterling, on the island, he is intrigued, particularly since she challenges him on numerous levels; Callie is attracted to him despite herself. Thanks to miss understanding, miss communication and interference all around them, the path to happiness does not run smoothly for Alex and Callie.
Alex ticked the boxes for me, he is an absolute alpha and totally swoon worthy. The chemistry between them was steamy, their banter humorous and overall this was a joy to read.
Cherishing The Goddess is well written, romantic, emotional and witty and when time permits I will be looking into other books by Lucy Eden.
Romance lovers unite! This book is so freaking adorable and gave me all the feels. Just in time for Valentine’s Day too. As some of you know, I’m kind of a disaster in my real love life so I’m always in search of book boyfriends! Alexander Wolfe did not disappoint. Holy hotness, Batman! Our female main character, Calypso (Callie), is just freaking awesome and she deserved someone sweet like Alex. Yes, Alex turns out to be so sweet and charming, although he’s this rich CEO who focuses on work all the time. Until he meets Callie…the daughter of the man he’s trying to close a deal with! This leads to some angst that quickly turns into steamy times (yummmm…), and you see them fall in love before the inevitable third act twist. Will they be torn apart? Will they make it? Well, this is a romance novel, guys, so *spoiler alert*, there’s an amazing HEA. Just adored it. This is my first Lucy Eden book but definitely not my last. Grab this to read over Valentine’s Day…and maybe pass it to your partner so they can get some ideas from Alex on how to show you some sweet lovin’!
He has put in 120 hours a week for years to get where he is now and he is now finding it less attractive as it had been. When he heard of a deal which would make even more of him. He goes but he does not expect to meet her. People tend to see her for her beauty and not what she can do. Her home and secret is in danger she will do anything to stop it. Will she be able to save her home and keep her secret? Will he undo her dreams? See who will come out on top

To say that Cherishing the Goddess is a superb steamy blast of fun would be to fairly describe it. This standalone workplace romance is a perfect enemies to lovers tale. I loved Calypso and Alexander story. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.
This is a wonderful storyline filled with lots of chemistry and twists with magic. The characters are well developed and engaging and held my interest.

Cherishing the Goddess by Lucy Eden is a charming, seductive, and fabulous romance read for the summer.
Alexander (Alex) Wolfe is handsome, successful and a billionaire CEO looking for his next win. When an opportunity arises for the biggest acquisition of his career, he travels to Barbados to go head-to-head with a corporate raider and close the deal in person. He’s absolutely prepared for everything… or so he thought.
Calypso (Callie) Sterling is beautiful, alluring and intelligent. She’s a force to be reckoned with and she’s come home to defend everything and everyone she loves. But when she meets Alexander, she can’t help being drawn to him. Callie knows the danger in falling for a man like Alexander, but can she resist him?
Alex surely never prepared to fall for a woman like Callie, but he’s absolutely fascinated by her. She may say no to him, but he’s incredibly persistent and will stop at nothing to get what he wants and desires.
I’ve never read anything by this author before, but while I wasn’t going crazy over the story, I thought it was surprisingly really entertaining. I really liked the writing style and thought Eden does wonderfully in luring me in and getting me hooked right from the start. The plot is nicely paced and engaging enough to keep me interested until the end. I liked the characters and thought they were charming in their own ways. The chemistry between Alexander and Callie had me swooning and their sexy moments are absolutely steamy. I thought they were amazing together and I enjoyed their playful bantering. There are a few bumps in their relationship, some conflict, tension, and family drama that definitely challenged Alex and Callie so that was really interesting to read about. I was happy with the ending and overall this story was a lovely read.
This book is a quick, fun, and romantic read. I liked that it was hilarious, sweet, emotional, and sexy. Definitely perfect for romance fans!

Rating: 4 stars (of 5).
In general: Enemies to lovers romance on Barbados.
Main characters:
– Calypso (Callie) Sterling.
Daughter of Barnabas Sterling. Owner of exclusive hotels. Famous for his social isolation. Keeping his distance from the media. He lives on Barbados where he owns the best holiday resort of the island.
Callie is an exotic beauty studying at Wharton University. Intelligent, ambitious and very social with many inhabitants of Barbados, the island where she was born and raised. She lives there again during her summer holidays.
– Alexander (Alex) Wolfe.
Billionare CEO of a chain of exclusive resorts in a lot of exotic vacation regions.
Alex visits Barbados to buy the Sterling resort. The owners refuse to sell. Alex’s firm tries to force the Sterlings, but in the negotiations Alex is outsmarted by Callie and her father.
Alex meets Callie shortly before the fatal negotiations not knowing who she is. He’s playing soccer with a little neighbour boy and sees her watching and handling the ball very well when it rolls against her feet. Next day he speaks with her in an elevator when she returns from the beach looking sad. He tries to comfort her; she reacts very emotional and that results in heavy petting. She refuses to tell him her name. Next day they meet again in the negotiations room and both are very surprised. And angry about the refusal of what the Sterlings consider as a hostile take-over. But Alex cannot forget the gorgeous and smart Callie and tries to meet her again. To stop his courting she agrees to a short, one-off date. But during this date there is a click and they meet again.
The author Lucy Eden describes how the enemies gradually become lovers in spite of the bad start and a few heavy complications, like mistrust, a family secret and not living in the same region. It results in an entertaining story with credible characters, some funny dialogues and hot scenes taking place on an exotic island. For me a pleasure to read this long novel, an extensive version of a previous published novella with the same name.

Calypso and Alexander help Lucy Eden cast a spell. There are moments when, Cherishing the Goddess seems like an otherworldly experiment. The heart wants to believe what the mind refuses to behold. Then there are other times when the mind leaps ahead of the heart and gives it’s own spin to the drama that is unfolding. Eden proves herself to be a masterful storyteller.
Alexander, or the Wolf as some call him, doesn’t fail in his goals, conquering anything he sets his mind to. So, when tasked with visiting a former corporate raider known as the Closer that left the business world behind twenty years ago, he doesn’t hesitate to pit his skills and determination against the legend. If he accomplishes his mission, it’ll be the biggest accomplishment of his career, instantly catapulting him to the top. But he never expected to find something that would eclipse his work.
As is the case for the majority of people, there are two sides to Calypso (Callie), professional and personal, and they really couldn’t be more different. One is fast paced whereas the other is leisurely, being on an island and all. Her focus is on her career, viewing intelligence as more valuable than the looks she had nothing to do with, and hoping she’ll eventually meet a man who feels the same. When she meets a sexy stranger, she can’t help but wonder if the two must remain divided or if she can have the best of both worlds.
Spending time together, the instant connection they’d felt deepens, growing stronger with every encounter, but can they merge their lives into one that allows them both to be happy and have what they need? Alexander knows being on the island feels like more than a business trip, but he isn’t sure if it’s everything he’s imagining or he’s just caught in the moment…not to mention the fact he’s actually thinking about relaxing and not the million and one things he has to do for work.
Maybe they can help each other? Or is this just a temporary break in time before real life calls? But what happens when she realizes he’s part of the company trying to buy out her dad and he discovers her connection to the unwilling to sell owner?
One-click now and follow along as two people meet and discover there’s more to life than working, and that just maybe happily ever afters do exist. On a side note, I didn’t care for the fact that when we have Alexander’s internal thoughts, after seeing but not yet meeting Callie, that the not subtle invitation for dinner and more with the mother of the young boy he’s befriended, a married woman no less, would be tempting if the kid wasn’t there and he could stop thinking about the mystery woman, aka the heroine. Really? He would have been tempted by a married woman? That makes me question his integrity and, as it was only about five percent in, shadowed the rest of the story for me. I also didn’t like that he let her touch his arm, with Callie off to the side as they’d both been checking each other out. No woman wants to see another woman touch the man she’s eyeballing.

I won an advanced copy of this one. I did hit a slow part in the middle, but once I muscled through the ending was phenomenal! The women in this family are pretty cool! Now I really want to take a trip to the Caribbean!
