Alaska Magic follows the story of Dot, a half-fae stationed in Alaska and tasked with keeping paranormals hidden from the human world.
While there, she discovers that blood magic (bad, bad magic) is being used to kidnap and hold women captive in a sex trafficking ring. As Dot does her part to put an end to things, she learns that as bad as things are, really, they are even worse than they seem.
When a (sexy) ex-agent for her task force worries younger sister appears to be the next target, Dot want to help. But his distrust of anyone to help puts them all in more danger.
CC Dragon describes ALASKAN MAGIC as “Supernatural meets the X-Files in an intense urban fantasy,” and I must agree! I loved this book and can’t wait for more from this series!
I’ve read this author before so I was eager to read this series starter by her. The writing was great, and I really liked how Dot cared for humans and wanted to keep them safe. I also really liked Mason and his family; I hope we see more of them in the next book. I’m eager to learn more about his magical world that is different than Dot’s. And, speaking of Dot, I hope we learn more about her family. The plot was an interesting, and the plot is something I think is a problem going on right now. One thing: I think that at times there was a little too much repetition of ideas i.e. Dot keeps her magic under wraps and no one knows she has magic. Don’t explain; show. Also, at one point, a character has something wrong with her (and the other characters know it) but that thought disappeared for a while and she was just being a “brat.” (I can’t say too much as I don’t want to spoil anything.) These were minor things, however, and I did enjoy the book and am looking forward to more. Recommend! I received a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
Wow this really kept my attention. I didn’t want to stop reading it. Things kept changing quickly and I had to change my brain to keep up. It stopped abruptly and now I have to wait for book 2.
trafficking, supernatural, shifters, urban-fantasy, FBI
Dot is a half fae FBI agent working with a non magic user when they stumble into a widespread trafficking ring in the Alaskan heartland run by an evil warlock. Things get tricky, she finds a State Trooper who is a shifter who helps on this case when another case grows out of it. Add in Bureau politics and climbers, the need for help from a former colleague, and things really hit the fan. A great read with too good a grasp on the real evil of human trafficking.
Supernatural meets the X-Files in ALASKAN MAGIC And just from that line I was hooked and just had to read this book and let me tell you it did not let me down! Well written this tale had me from the very first page and the twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat and I just love Dot and Mason! This is a great starter!

But something more than a sex trafficking ring is happening. Blood magic, bad magic has been used to subdue these women and hold them captive…
