Fun quick read , lots of plot twists.
First book I have read from this writer. I randomly went through her books and picked one that I believed that I would like. I was right. I absolutely loved this one. Gemma, her sister and friends are on their way to Vegas for a little after divorce party. Little do they know that Gemma’s life is going to change on this trip. Gemma ends up meeting Jason. He is different. A little mystery. But the chemistry between these two is off the charts. Jason is hiding something from Gemma and once she finds out the truth will it change things between them. I enjoyed this storyline and the characters. I will be reading more from this series and this author.
***** AUDIOBOOK REVIEW *****
Oh my gosh, I couldn’t even imagine being in Las Vegas and having the lights go out… let alone being locked out of my room NAKED! It’s called the City of Sin for so many naughty reasons and when Jason comes to Gemma’s rescue… it is just the start of their good time!
These two were fun! They were seriously sexy and I just loved the naughtiness they brought out in each other!! Can they keep the romance alive with the lights on?!?! I liked Bridget Bordeaux’s narration and felt the story easily through her. This was a quick little listen and it was too quickly!
Gemma, her sister and their girlfriends were in Vegas for a fun time, they never expected the city to have a Blackout. Jason is a man of mystery, but he’s protective and sweet too. Gemma and Jason had a undenible chemistry from the moment they met, I’m talking scorching Hot! Can Jason be the man of Gemma’s dreams? Or is he just a illusion? Blind Faith is a quick and entertaining read.
Plan ahead when you decide to read a Lauren Runow story. Once I start one of her books, I find it’s very difficult to put the book down and get stuff done. You’ve been warned.
I loved this book, even though through most of the book I thought Jason was pretty suspicious. He was a questionable character. Trust in Lauren. It’ll all turn out well in the end.
Speaking of which, Lauren Runow writes the. best. endings!
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
In Blind Faith we follow Gemma, who heads to Vegas with two friends and her sister to celebrate the latter’s divorce. She embarked on this vacation with the goal of having a good time with her friends, she didn’t expect to find the man of her dreams. Despite the instant attraction and sexual tension, Gemma isn’t sure of who Jason really is. When the blackout forces them to be together for an extended period of time she hopes to be able to peel back the some of the layers.
This novella will have you turning the pages as fast as you can. And while it is part of an anthology, it is a standalone. I read it as such. I highly recommend Blind Faith… or any Lauren Runow book for that matter. She’s able to capture real life situations that seem hopeless and still give us that perfect HEA we crave.
Blind Faith is a fun short read from Lauren. Gemma goes to Vegas with her sister and two friends to celebrate her sister’s divorce and literally runs into Jason in the hallway outside their hotel room.
They seem fated to get together as they seem to end up in the same place at the same time. They start talking and flirting in a nightclub then suddenly he disappears, then he does it again next day at the Mob Museum. Later that day the other girls go out for some fun and Gemma stays behind for a nap. Suddenly that evening all the power for the hotel and what appears to be the whole of Vegas including cell connections go out and Gemma starts to panic, meeting up with other guests in the hallway finding that they are also panicked. Deciding that it might be a good idea to leave the hotel Gemma realises that she has locked herself out of her room wearing only a robe. Jason comes to her rescue, lends her some of his clothes and they leave the hotel and get out of Vegas in his truck.
By now you are wondering who is this mysterious guy that keeps appearing and disappearing and avoids giving Gemma straight answers. Regardless this turns into an exciting adventure for them with a super sexy love scene. It is tough to put this down as you get enthralled in the story and really want to know how it ends and that ending is not at all what you might expect.
If you have a couple of hours to spare you will enjoy this entertaining novella.
Gotta love electric door locks in a hotel in a power outtage!
When Gemma goes to Vegas with her sister and their friends to celebrate her sister’s divorce, she literally runs into Mr. Tall, Dark, and Handsome from room 7007, Jason. He rescues Gemma when the power goes out in Vegas and seems to be a little more prepared for the power outtage than most…part of that might have to do with his brother, Tyler. Jason and Gemma have a night to remember…
This novella was one of my favorites in the Blackout Anthology! Author Lauren Runow does an amazing job grabbing you and keeping you from putting the book down! I love her characters, descriptions, and storyline! Plus…the epilogue in Blind Faith is one of my favorites!!!! I want to tell you more, but without just saying that, it may turn into a spoiler. Definitely recommend this!
Gemma is a PR Rep for a sports team in LA and goes to Las Vegas with her sister and friends to celebrate her sister’s divorce. Upon arriving at the hotel, she literally falls into the arms of the handsome guy in the room next door to theirs. After that, they seem to meet at almost every venue they go to. Gemma feels an instant connection but when they finally talk for a minute, he gets a text and runs off.
A few nights later when she is alone in the hotel and her party is out having fun, Vegas is cast into darkness! She runs out in the hallway, locked out of her room, and is immediately at the mercy of her attractive stranger! Can she trust him? Why does he seem so calm among the chaos? This will be a night she will never forget!
I loved the instant attraction between Gemma and Jason. He was withdrawn yet felt the pull. The slow burn between them was sweet and as we got Jason’s backstory we understood his reluctance to engage with her. His devotion to family was commendable and very relatable.
I wholeheartedly enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more about the Night the Lights Went Out in Vegas!
BLIND FAITH is a Novella that was originally part of the BLACKOUT Anthology. It is now a standalone book by Lauren Runow. And my first time reading this story!
Gemma is the good girl to her older sister Samantha’s wild and crazy. The two of them, along with their friends’ Carrie and Sarah, were off to party in Vegas. Samantha had just been granted an annulment from her second failed marriage. So now the girls were ready to celebrate, and what better place than Vegas.
They had only just arrived in Vegas, when Gemma falls for a handsome Clark Kent look-alike. His black-rimmed glasses made him look more sexy than dorky. Literally she tripped and fell into his arms. And he is staying in the same hotel and room right across the hall from her.
She is there to celebrate with her sister, but must leave tall, dark and handsome behind. That is really the reason they were in Vegas. To drink too much and meet new people. Her sister was happy about dissolving the three rings of marriage: the engagement ring, the wedding ring and the suffer-ring.
Fate seems to want Gemma to hook-up with Clark Kent. They even met and talked long enough to exchange names, and his was Jason. Every time they seemed to be getting along nicely, his darn cell phone would ring and he would be gone. Gemma had given up on him, when in nothing but a bathrobe, the lights went out in her hotel room. When she ran into the hall in nothing but that bathrobe, she was shocked to learn the power was out all over Vegas. And she was locked out of her room. She is lucky, that her own superhero named Jason, comes to her rescue. The Blackout is when the story really becomes interesting.
I’m so happy to have another book from this lady… She has become a friend in the years I know her. And wanna know a secret? I haven’t even met her in person but one day I will. I can’t explain this to you but I feel like I know her for so long and that is amazing. A bonus is her books. Each and every one of them has my heart as well as my soul… I love love love her words…
She had made me cry, laugh, curse, blush… You name it and I wouldn’t change it for anything.
Blind Faith is her latest release and tells the stories of Gemma and Jason. Just a heads up, this story is included in the Blackout anthology.
Gemma went to Vegas to celebrate her sister’s divorce. She’s used to have control over everything. She like her life organized but one blackout…
Jason is the total package… He’s tall, handsome and charismatic. He’s in Vegas as well and keeps running into this beautiful girl and then the blackout occurs…
So perfect. I’m stunned by the intensity of the book.
It was another amazing story just like the other books this author has previously given us.
Sublime plot, very well written, supper engaging and intense.
Despite the fact that it was a short story it had the perfect combination of mystery, love, desire and so much more. Half way through the story things were making sense in my mind and ideas were pilling up…
Oh sweet lord… This story was perfect…
Thank you Lauren Runow for this new book. You my dear are a genius behind a pen and each book is special…
I want more… More…
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
What an exciting read! It started out with Gemma, her sister and their friends partying in Vegas and turned into an unexpected night when Las Vegas suddenly went dark and Gemma found herself locked out of her hotel room in only a robe. Luckily for her, the mysterious stranger from across the hall came to her rescue.
Short reads are always harder for me because it usually takes a while to get into the book but the mystery around Jason lured me in and as soon as the blackout hit I was fully engaged in this story. I loved the sweet ending and absolutely recommend reading this story!
Now I hope and pray for a certain secondary character to get a story too because I just know that it’s meant to be told! =)
A non stop page turner that will have you wanting to be in the City Of Sin when the lights go out too if you were able to fall into the arms of Jason like Gemma had. The storyline flowed smoothly throughout and will have you thinking multiple scenarios trying to figure out what’s going on. A great read that I highly recommend.
