Once upon a time, the devil knocked up a delivery guy.Not your typical intro to a romance, but I promise, it is one. The devil in this scenario would be a sexy horned demon named Apollyon and the delivery guy would be me, Levi Curtis. Just an average guy who got in way over his head trying to keep his twin sister from selling her soul.See, in order to do unleash Hell’s demonic wrath upon the … demonic wrath upon the earth, Apollyon needs a mortal vessel to contain the seed of his demonic army. It wasn’t supposed to be a literal pregnancy, but my overactive imagination has always caused problems.
Big problems, in this case. A whole Legion of ‘em.
I may low-key hate Apollyon, but we’re gonna have to learn to tolerate each other in order to keep our little bundle of infernal joy safe and hopefully not destroy both our worlds in the process.
But hey, on the plus side, you know what they say about guys with big horns.
Lightbearer is an 82k fantasy mpreg romance with dark humor. This is a meta-narrative with intentional tense switching as the story jumps timelines.

I have read a few books by Mr Davis but I think that this one became one of my favorites. I love reading a book where it makes me laugh makes me cry and has as much action as you love in a book and Lightbearer has it for me. I love Levi he has so much sass that even in his difficult times he would see to the people he love and do anything for them.
Magickally DEMONlicious!!!
If you only read one paranormal/ demon romance this year it should be, Lightbearer. This book has everything you could want in a delicious MM romance… Yes, even that! Whatever it is you are thinking, it probably has that too.
Witches, Demons, Angels, dimensions of Hell like you never imagined, this book shows them all in colorful detail. The romance is out of this world awesome if you are a geek like me and like your MCs with more snark than sap.
There are even heavy moments when my guts hurt for the MCs and my eyes may have been a little leaky, once or twice. Read it! You won’t regret it!

This was quite a unique read and I liked it a whole lot.
It’s silly and funny and quirky in all the best ways. And I was enraptured by the story until right after Levi arrived in Hell.
Because then the waffling began.
There were these chapters that didn’t add anything to the story and felt more like filler somehow. All in preparation for the big event that turned out to be hugely anti climactic.
When Levi and Appolyon finally got together, it was uncomfortable and painful more than steamy. Which – naturally – was a big let down.
But I was pleasantly surprised that the book didn’t just end there but there were so much more that happened after that I hadn’t expected. And I love being surprised by books. The story was way more complex than I initially thought, and could have been a 5-star if not for the uneventful middle part.
Still, I highly recommend it!
This was awesome! So different, cute, and unexpectedly romantic.
This Is one of the best written stories by L.C. Davis. I enjoyed it thoroughly from start to end.
Levi Curtis is a snarky and stubborn main character who puts his family first. These traits are what leads him to Apollyon, the demon Levi ends up summoning. Apollyon wants a child and Levi ends up becoming Apollyon’s “baby mama” (as Levi describes it) and they both end up falling in love with each other. However, it’s not smooth sailing for the couple as a war between heaven and hell breaks out.
Overall Rating: 4 Stars. The book was hilarious and I loved every moment of it. Levi and Apollyon are wonderful characters and the sex scenes were hot and delicious. The writing was great and the plot was action packed. I highly recommend this book.
Absolutely amazing read. Kept me enthralled from start to finish.
This isn’t your typical Mpreg story, and that’s what I enjoyed most about it. I love a book that makes me laugh out loud, and this one definitely did. My sole issue with this book was the ending seemed a little long after such a whirlwind, fantastical read. Check it out if you’re a fan of the paranormal/Mpreg genre (with a slight touch of BDSM, because demon lover, duh). You won’t be disappointed.
This was an amazing dark fantasy mpreg that mixes humor with drama/action and a good dose of steam and romance.
Apollyon and Levi were fascinating characters, their story was entertaining and fun and definitely held my attention. The other characters were also intriguing and entertaining and helped make the story. I haven’t read a story quite like this one and it blew me away. I just loved it very much.
This was an ARC book I volunteered to read.
Full disclosure, I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review. And I bought a copy, which should tell you how much I loved this book. I have SO many highlighted quotes, it really slowed down my reading pace by having to stop and highlight all these gems.
What do you do when you are a slacker whose over-achieving twin sister goes missing, leaving only a demon’s name written in blood?
You go after her.
And when she tells you she’s taken on a demon baby daddy in exchange for fame and your health?
You push her through the glowing portal while no one is looking.
Now, Levi’s stuck in Hell and offering himself in place of his sister.
Snark, sarcasm, sass, and sweetness make for an interesting read. Definitely on my Favorite’s list.
I don’t remember the last time I laughed so much while reading a book: Levi is a fantastic, snarky character and the story was worth reading just for him.
The plot itself is a bit predictable at the beginning, but definitely turns interesting very soon, and I didn’t expect the twists and turns of the second half. The two secondary characters are well-developed and intriguing.
I can’t say the same for Levi’s other half, Apollyon, though: the character I expected to be most interested in, the demon, the Duke of Hell, turned out to be not very fleshed-out, and not very evil. I could have believed a story where demons are not evil just because they are demons, but in what ways are they different than humans? Why are they in Hell? Or where do they come from?
While in other books this kind of questions can be left unanswered because the characters have strong personalities, it’s not Apollyon’s case.
So, 4 starts because Levi’s character deserves nothing less!

This is definitely one of the most unique books I have read in a while. It is written well and the storyline flows smoothly.
This puts a whole new spin on heaven, hell, and purgatory, witches, demons, and angels. It took me a bit to get into the story, but once I did, I found it quite entertaining.
Levi is full of snark and sass, and a little bit nuts, IMO. He is very determined to get his way, however, even if it means making a deal with a demon. Apollyon does not really want to give up his original plan, but when left with no choice, he is determined to make Levi into the Lightbearer he needs him to be.
Unfortunately, Levi’s unknown past brings even more complications to an already awkward situation. Things happen because of this unknown factor, and if it weren’t for Levi’s already questionable thought processes, I would definitely be saying Stockholm Syndrome all the way.
Unconventional romance, kidnappings by angels, possession by the devil, and wars across the realms of Heaven, Hell, and Earth across decades all revolve around the Lightbearer, who brings the etheric demonic energy into the world as the impossible embodiment of a legion in the form of a little demon baby.
Overall, this unconventional rom-com is definitely something different! I’m still not sure when lust turned to love for our MCs, but they make an interesting couple. In all honesty, the story does have some serious moments that hit you in the feels, too. It truly is unique.
Happy reading!

I’m not sure what I was expecting when I started reading this book, but it was not any of those things— in a good way. Levi is one of those book characters you end up wanting as your best friend, because he’s amazing at one liners (seriously, his quips are SO GOOD) and because he’s always willing to do what he has to to protect the people he loves. Apollyon is like an unexpected gift when it’s not even your birthday. He’s the perfect foil to Levi and they are amazing together. The world that L.C. Davis has built for this book is amazing in so many ways, it’s complex and diverse and along with the supporting cast of characters it all comes together to make one of the legit best books I’ve read so far in 2019.
Would you trade places with your sister in hell, trade your soul for hers? Would you? That’s exactly what the unlikely hero of this well-written novel decided on. Levi Curtis, a delivery driver with few prospects and a healthy dose of sarcasm, quickly found himself in a world, actually several worlds, of trouble when he did exactly that. Not to mention the oh so delicious demon Apollyon. An unlikely love story filled with twists and turns, it’s a unique take on the ever popular grand theme of Heaven and Hell, angels, witches and demons, world building and destroying.
If you like paranormal MM, make this a book you read.
Levi tells this story to an angel after he wakes up. Levi follows his sister into hell to make a trade and send her home. Apollyon is the Duke of the underworld. Apollyin is the demon that deals with Levi. Levi’s soul is already promised to someone and they need to find out who. Apollyon finds out that Levi’s soul is promised to Lucifer. Apollyon agrees to let Levi become his lightbearer and carry his seed. Levi is put on bed rest until the doctor can be sure everything is going as it should be. However there is a problem instead of a Legion of Spirits, there is only one. How did this happen? What went wrong? How can Levi have a baby? Will Lucifer leave Levi along or will he come after him again?

their love changed the shapes of worlds and dimensions – Apollyon and Levi.
And in a part of their world, the demon and the delivery dude made a baby, giving the twin sister of the delivery dude a different kind of chance.
And demons were at least in part on the side of righteousness – and angels were in part on the side of darkness.
very epic story of love for family, child, sibling lover and self – and major whopping change to Heaven, Hell Purgatory and Earth.
Booom!
