Claire Davenport is a hopeless romantic who shared her first kiss with Alex Murphy during a game of Spin the Bottle. Only Alex never pursued her after their kissing session and Claire regrets not telling him about her crush. At twenty-seven, no boyfriends have captured her heart in the same way. Still, she hasn’t given up on finding the one. Unfortunately, Forever Designs, her boutique wedding … dress business, is accumulating more bills than invoices so love has to take a backseat for now.
When a famous model books Claire to design her wedding dress, she jumps at the opportunity only to find out the client is her childhood best friend and rival, Missy Peters. Claire and Missy’s friendship imploded when Missy stole Claire’s high school boyfriend. To save her business, Claire has no choice, but to work with Missy. To Claire’s surprise, the best man turns out to be Alex Murphy. Gone is the skinny boy with the awkward-but-endearing kisses. Alex is now a sexy scientist, who for some reason seems determined to stop the wedding, which Claire can’t let happen.
Now, Claire must design the perfect dress for demanding Missy, while at the same time countering Alex’s attempts to break up the bride and groom. Can Claire convince Alex to give Missy and her fiancé a chance, and that true love is possible? And can she do it without him breaking her heart all over again?

I loved this story about a second chance at love. I really liked the characters and I can’t wait to read the next one in this series. It was a funny, sweet, clean romance. I would definitely recommend this book for a quiet afternoon read.

Another great read from Susan Hatler and a great addition to the series! Charming and fun characters, a story line that’s pure joy to read and just the right amount of humor that has the reader laughing out loud throughout the story. Highly recommend and you can’t go wrong with adding Susan Hatler’s books to your reading list.

Alex and Claire shared a kiss in middle school during a game of spin the bottle. Now he’s back in town. Neither one have ever stopped having feelings for the other. Will they take a chance on love? Is love a myth? Great addition to the wonderful community of Blue Moon Bay.

Storm gives way to sunshine for a wedding dress designer with a lava lamp love
I really enjoyed this sweet Susan Hatler Blue Moon Bay romance. It had so many elements going for it. Childhood romantic dreams that live into adulthood, a bridezilla (who is really not so bad), some fickleness drama, romantic dancing in the rain (aah), and a bevy of wonderful characters all combined to create a great plot.
Heroine Claire is a fledgling entrepreneur who desperately needs the publicity a high profile bride can bring to her dress designs. She keeps her eye on the prize and grudgingly accepts alot in prep for a pivotal wedding of a former high school friend turned celebrity, including some underhand shenanigans from her middle school crush Alex, until she teaches her limit. But reconnecting with the boy turned man whose kiss she never forgot is an unexpected bonus. They spark off one another and before you know it, one love skeptic and one dyed-in-the-wool believer in love ever after are getting along swimmingly. Can it last when some tough secrets come to light?!
I have read a number of Susan Hatler romances and this one ranked as one of or maybe the best of the bunch. There were even some unpredictable moments that made this a pageturner for me!

I did like this book. I thiought that the premise of the book sounded fun and had lots of potential. For me though it kind of fell a bit flat. To start I felt that there was a severe lack of chemistry between Claire and Alex. Then there was the storyline that I think was supposed to come off as kind of madcap zany, But I wasn’t happy that money and success weighed so heavily into the equation. For me that made it all too mercinary insteed of fun and romantic.
Delightful storyline about Claire and Alex shared a kiss back in seventh grade of spin the bottle. Little do they know, but that one kiss made a huge impression on each all those years ago. Now several years later these two are about to come to head over a friends wedding, but will they be able to plan the wedding or is sabotage afoot. And can one ever really forget about that one perfect kiss.

Sometimes there is magic and forever in a kiss. Claim thought she felt that a long time ago.
Might it still be true?
Growing does not have to mean giving up on your dreams. It might mean updating them to fit your grown up life – or it can mean hanging onto hope for love and magic, despite grown hurts and fears.
Sweet KU romance with magic!

Oh my gosh! I was already half in love with Claire in her sister’s book, and now I’m completely smitten. I think we all have that one boy from our youth that we still wonder “what if…?” about. I loved seeing Claire find out what could happen with that childhood crush. Alex is positively heartbreaking. I’m not surprised he has the opinions about love that he does after everything he’s lived through. It was kind of magical watching him discover the positive aspects of love through Claire’s eyes. The closing scene of this book makes me think the author has several more stories on the horizon for us.

A Great Romcom Storyline!
Fun Storyline from a first time author for me, Susan Hatler. Having read this book I know that her name will be joining my short list list of favorite Romcom authors. In fact I love the whole package…storyline, characters, and cover themes.
The main characters of this book were well written and I liked that they evolved, or their perceptions of people evolved which allowed for second chances and in some cases, endings.
I definitely am recommending this book for your reading enjoyment and pleasure. Peace.
