When my ex-wife told me she was leaving West Virginia, I was angry. Our marriage was over, it had been for a long time, but now she’s abandoning our son, and neither of us are happy about it. My assistant, Amber, and I have been flirting for months. There’s a strong connection between us, and we both know it. Tapping into our mutual love for basketball, I bring Amber on to help coach my son’s … my son’s team.
Now my ex is back and making demands. I know I should always trust my gut. When I don’t, things go wrong, and it leaves us with a lesson…
It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish … rise up!

A fantastic story on multiple levels. I love the building of characters within a series and Alison Mello does a great job of doing it. Each book in A Coache’s Love series can be read as a stand alone but reading them in order gave me a level of satisfaction you can only get by knowing the backgrounds on each person mentioned.
The realism of youth sports and how parents and coaches have a huge responsibility of teaching the positive aspects of athletics which can be carried into the lives of each player is an underlying theme I support completely.
Now onto the romantic parts. There is a sweetness to the relationship between Vincent and Amber that touched my heart. Then the heat and chemistry burned that sweet side up as it builds up to them realizing their love for each other.
This story from beginning to end kept me entertained. I loved the whole thing.
I am hoping for more in the series.
Living and learning from mistakes while finding love in the process, is what this book embodies. Following Vincent and Amber’s journey of becoming a couple and how they incorporate the fundamentals of rising up into their day-to-day lives makes for a good read and an interesting story of how they came to be. Throw a sweet little boy named Ethan into the mix and be prepared for your heart to be happy. This is one of those feel good, life lesson books with some heat sprinkled in. Can’t go wrong with this one.
I loved this book so much. It showed that no matter what happens in life you are able to overcome any challenge!!! From love, family, sports and friends, no matter what you face, you can always Rise Up!!! Thank you Alison for writing such a wonderful book that truly inspires a brighter outlook when facing life challenges.
This is the third book in the series. Vincent is a single parent, raising a teenage son on his own. Amber is a single, independent woman, who is Vincent’s assistant. Both have been unlucky in love. Through teaching young boys the game of basketball, it brings them closer. I loved catching up with everyone from previous books and the mom squad. I highly recommend this book, it’s a must read.
