more
Vern at the age of sixteen has only one friend, Sean. Vern, abused by his father and bullied by the kids from school, is just miserable. He has one goal: at eighteen he will run and go to Miami to be an actor. Without a word Vern escapes from home and starts his journey to Miami with nothing in his bag or pockets.
When Sean finds out Vern is missing he is on his way to find him and gets unexpected company.
He can’t interfere, can’t show his real form, he has to stay in the shadows, Teague is coming from a whole other realm. As Vern’s Demon, he has a task and this involves ruining Vern’s life so he’ll hate humanity, only he can’t do it because Vern is different, and Teague likes Vern. Zepher, Teague’s twin brother isn’t happy with this, they have to conquer Manna (Earth) with help from humans.
There is more going on! Nothing is what it looks like with family, demons, and angels.
“Ciyä Miros (see-ya me-rose)”
It’s quite difficult to describe this story without giving the story line away. Like the blurb says: the War is coming… the angels of Osestra and the demons of Exilum are preparing a final battle to be played out on Manna, one human is in the middle.
There are a few stories running parallel which involves Vern and Teague, Sean and Tucker and we get some insight about the realms, their purpose, and residents.
We don’t get to know the whole picture and we don’t get to know how it all will go. But the story reveals enough to get you intrigued to know more.
The world building was well thought out and made it into an intriguing story. The way of writing was clear and made the story understandable.
When you keep in mind there will be a continuation than it’s easy to accept not everything is developed and in time we will know more of Vern, Teague, Sean, and Tucker and the battle of Demons and Angels.
Talk about starting on a high note, this is a great series opener. Vern and Teague were such likable and engaging characters, the cherry on top is that they are surrounded by an amazing cast of secondary characters. As soon as I finished I was ready for the next book in the series, this is keeper-shelf material for sure.

Have you lived all your life thinking you knew everything about heaven and hell, angels and demons? Well, this book will try to flip over all your beliefs, because the author will give you a mind blowing introduction to Osestra and Exilum, who fight a neverending war over Manna(our Earth).
Who’s good and who’s bad in this scenario? Who’s side the main characters will be on? Whichever side they’ll choose, I’m on Vern and Teague’s team, along with all their friends. It wasn’t difficult to fall in love with them, and the multiple POV helped with that.
Get ready for an engaging story that will suck you in from the first page. You’ll cry and laugh, fear and rejoice, hate and love.
Congrats, Lynn Michaels, for another beautiful book
Do you remember that first book that took you to another place? Remember that feeling when you finished? I do and with this one I got that experience again. It was so easy to get lost in the world created and see what the characters were seeing. Sometimes when authors do stories with demons or angels it’s hard to get into the concept. Lynn Michaels has made magic here. She has come up with a story and plot line that you can get behind. No doubt I’m Team Vern all the way. Just think, if this is how I feel with book one, imagine how it’s going to be as we get to know more about all the parties involved and those we haven’t even met yet. Read Demon or Angel and then answer one question for me. Are you Team Vern?

Well, this was a different read. In a good way, of course.
I might say I’m biased when comes to demon and angel stories, specially when the world building is done beautifully.
The first half of the book was nothing like the blurb. This is really just the start of a series. We get to known Vern’s life, before he met Teague. It was a long journey until they can be together, really long. But it was necessary, this way you could feel the pain from both charterers. It show Vern’s at high school, then perusing his dream an boy, my heart ache for him.
The pace was slow but full of action, it doesn’t have exposition witch I HIGHLY appreciate. You know only what the MC knows. You don’t quite get what’s going on, but you are eager to discover because the background (war between worlds) was given to us, this little we know.
The book shifts between the MC’s POV, which I don’t mind and it’s perfectly okay. What I did mind was the side characters POV. There were whole chapters about Vern’s friend, Sean and his boyfriend, interrupting the main story (Vern’s). At the end I knew why they were there, but not when I was reading them, that’s the only reason it was not a 5 stars review.
I recommend this book for those who like supernatural, angels, demons, a good mystery and a little action combined with steamy-hot sex scenes.
**I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.**
Wow! This book is definitely something else. From the world depicted by the author, through a host of engaging and very well described MCs, to unique multi – point of view narration you do not see very often. Loved the book and this is definitely a series to follow!
