This is my new favorite Kylie book!
And you know what? I find myself saying that about every new book of hers I’ve read lately. Seriously, if you love contemporary romances with heat and plenty of smiles (a few laughs, too) then Kylie’s the author for you!
I LOVED Maggie! A little quirky, she was very straight-forward with her words and actions. She wasn’t one of those heroines who was like, “Well, I should probably say this out loud, but I won’t.” She was believeable and absolutely addicting to read.
And Patrick. He was faced with some tough circumstances and decisions, and I think he handled it much as a real person would. But his devotion and feelings for Maggie were SO…just…AWWWW! to read.
This was one of those books I had to pace myself to read, otherwise I would have read it in a couple of hours and suffered a serious book-hangover.
I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!
(I received this book in consideration of my honest thoughts)
Yay Maggie and Patrick! Although this is part of a series, this “Good Girl Gets the Bad Boy” novella can be read as a stand-alone.
Maggie and Patrick are at a the crossroads of their lives. The “What To Do Next?” Phase. After a disappointing NFL try-out Patrick tries to decide what is next since it isn’t football. For Maggie it’s how to escape the expectations set upon her by her parents to pursue her dreams. It’s in trying to find themselves that they find each other.
I loved these characters. Maggie for her quirkiness, honesty, and strength. Some of things she did had me cringing but I loved it. Patrick for his big heart and ability to be vulnerable. I just wanted to squeeze him and maybe do a few other things but I digress. This is a quick read that will have you doing a happy dance and yelling “Touchdown!”
See Maggie before she is everyone favourite Gran O’Hare. We get to see the first glimpse into life with the O’Hares, before they were even the O’Hares. this story will have you laughing and doing your happy dance right along beside them.
Loved this laugh out loud, sweetly sexy, emotionally exciting and engaging adventure with two very interesting and adorable opposites that were just made for each other….. could not put this story down from the beginning was so entertaining and fun to read.
Maggie & Patrick seem like complete opposites. Patrick is an ex-football player bad boy while Maggie has been forced into a demure sweet girl role. Patrick wants to be seen as more than his reputation but Maggie wants him to “ruin” her so she can leave this small town & live her life.
Kylie Gilmore manages to create entertaining stories while using”normal” characters with flaws & fears that we all have. The situations that they find themselves in are ones that we’ve all encountered at one time or another. This is another of the feel good stories this author is becoming known for.
I loved Maggie O’Hare in the Clover Park series by Kylie Gilmore and was excited that Maggie Meets Her Match was all about Maggie when she met and fell in love with Patrick O’Hare. Maggie is sweet, innocent, kooky and forward who set her eyes on Patrick and goes for it. Patrick, a football star from the other side of the tracks who had a girlfriend who dumped him when he didn’t make the pros isn’t sure Maggie is attracted to him or just a fan. Maggie and Patrick romance is funny, sweet and adorable. I throughly enjoyed reading this book and highly recommend reading it. I received a free copy of this book for an honest review of it.
Maggie and Patrick’s love story in Maggie Meets Her Match, by Kylie Gilmore and part of the Clover Park series, is a fun and sexy tale. It’s a time long ago when Maggie Murphy had limited options for her future after graduation, secretary school or marriage. Not wanting to marry the man her parents chose and not really wanting to become a secretary Maggie is at a crossroad when she encounters Patrick (don’t call me Handsy) O’Hare, high school bad boy and football star. Now if she could convince him to “ruin” her then she might be able to follow her dream of acting. After blowing his NFL tryouts for a new team, Patrick is working at his uncle’s carnival company while he tries to figure out what he can and who he is without football. Patrick is tired and fed up with girls who only want him because of his football skills and talent. Maggie has always been a little on the crazy or different side. Patrick finds that Maggie is into him and enjoys spending time with her. He enjoys the fresh breath of air that Maggie provides, especially the fact that she enjoys being with his carnival family before agreeing to hang out. Patrick’s uncle Todd agrees to let Maggie create a flyer about the carnival and the pictures she takes are amazing; telling a story to the viewer. Maggie is also asked to take pictures around the fair for the city. Maggie starts feeling that this could be her future and is ready to go for it. Uncle Todd offers Patrick a carnival trailer for him to share with Maggie, a chance for them to have a future together. As soon as Patrick feels he has a future he receives a call from a new NFL team wanting to sign him and requesting his presence at training camp. Patrick is over the moon excited but believes that he cannot focus on football and a relationship at the same time. After some hysterical scenes with Patrick’s ex-girlfriend and Maggie running off, Patrick finally realizes that his life is nothing without Maggie. Those sizzling nights Patrick and Maggie spend together leads them to a future neither could have imagined and the ability to follow their dreams together.
Ms. Gilmore wrote a wonderfully hot, humorous, and moving tale filled with sexual chemistry, fun dialogue, and endearing characters that is not to be missed. I loved how she allowed for the growth of the relationship between these Patrick and Maggie as well as their figuring out what to do with their lives. I highly recommend Maggie Meets Her Match to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Maggie O’Hare lights up every scene she is in during the whole Clover Park series, so I was tickled to hear that we were going to get to read about her as a young woman. She is just as much fun as I thought she would be. She bounces off the page and makes everything fun and exciting. Patrick is a lovely match for her. As a couple, they are sweet and hot. I also enjoyed the secondary characters in here. They add even more quirkiness to the story. A lovely prequel!
Good Girl and Bad Boy…. or otherwise??
Maggie is the typical good girl with big dreams. Patrick is the promising footballer who sees his career run through his hands after suffering a big love disappointment. Their meeting seems to be that of one night stand only, but Maggie sees in Patrick what he really is, not just a football star, but a person of flesh and blood, faults and qualities that can be admired and respected. Patrick realizes that isolating himself from the emotions may not be the solution to his problems, and his enchantment in Maggie’s frank and sincere way only increases. They become good friends and this friendship blossoms with the possibility of something more. But could their differences be reconciled? This book has one big flaw: it ends …. It’s a super fast read, I read it in one night!
