Can a vivacious city girl find forever with a reclusive farmer?

My first read from Charlotte O’Shay did not disappoint. Sam’s fiancé dumped her days before their Christmas wedding and she’s looking for an escape from her too-serious, too-predictable life in NYC as a lawyer. She always took the safe path. Time for change, even as she fights it every step of the way! Enter her “honeymoon for one” in Vermont at Christmas, a broken down car in the snow, and a ruggedly reclusive dairy farmer named Jed. These two can’t fight their attraction, but with Jed’s painful past and her own secret keeping her heart from falling in love again, can these two get their act together for a HEA? Can Sam say goodbye to the routine and start anew in small-town? HIGHLIGHTS: The fresh, first person/present tense style by the author really highlights the voice of the characters, brings them to life on the page. I loved Sam’s candidness and Jed’s sincerity (Ah, a hot, sensitive farmer!). I adored both characters. She layers in more of this town I’ve been reading about in the Deerbourne series (oh so perfectly, and adds more depth to some of the secondary cast of townsfolk! I liked seeing their personalities played up here). The love scenes are sexy but not too hot. A fresh, keep you in your seat read! Highly recommend.
Would you go on your honeymoon alone if your fiancé called off the nuptials?
New Yorker Samantha DeMartino would. And does, in the newest addition to the Deerbourne Inn series FOREVER IN A MOMENT by Charlotte O’Shay.
Since the honeymoon’s already paid for, and Sam’s life has taken a topsy-turvy turn from her well ordered and routine existence, she decides to spend the week alone at the Vermont Inn booked for her now defunct honeymoon. Setting out in the storm of the century, she never expects to be stranded on the roadside during the storm, but when she is, she does the unthinkable and starts to walk to the inn rather than be found frozen to a popsicle in her car the next morning. On her trek, she’s saved, literally, when driver Jed Armstrong happens on her. Jed brings her to the Inn, and leaves.
Sam finds her moody savior intriguing, but feels he thinks she’s a bit of an idiot for being out in such a storm.
Determined to enjoy her solo-moon, Sam sets out to see the sights of Willow Springs, which includes a ski lesson at the local resort. Luck, or the lack of it – she can’t decide which – befalls her, when Jed is her instructor.
They keep running into one another in the tiny town and it’s not long before Samantha realizes she hasn’t thought about her jilting fiancé or her almost wedding for days.
The sexual heat sizzles between these two and without giving away any spoilers, their road to a hopeful HEA is plowed over with snow, family complications, and both their painful pasts.
I simply adored this book. No other word for it. The dialogue was witty, wisecracking, and snarky enough to put a smile on this native New Yorker’s face more than once. And Jed…well. Is it possible to fall in love with a fictional man? I’ll leave that for you decide when you read this beautifully written story.
5 well deserved stars to FOREVER IN A MOMENT. (Wish the Amazon gods would let me give it more). A big thank you to the author and Publisher for allowing me an ARC of this book prior to publication.

A thoroughly enjoyable story of a second chance romance and not letting opportunities pass because of fear or preconceived notions of how love should happen. Great characters. I adored the small town setting. Treat yourself to this book. You won’t be disappointed.
Oh my gosh I’m so late to the party! Apparently there are twenty-two books in the Deerbourne Inn series, written by all different authors. Apparently a reader doesn’t need to read them in order. I’ve never read a Charlotte O’Shay book but I think she did a fine job!
I’m the lucky reviewer to have read book eight, Forever in a Moment, and can I say “Wow!”. I’m so sad it’s over. It was the fastest one hundred and thirty eight pages I’ve ever read.
The hero, Jed, was “all that” and more. The book started off right away with him rescuing the heroine, Sam. I loved the quick start that just kept on flowing like the snow falling in the snow storms described in the story.
It wasn’t your typical busy city woman falling for a country farm boy with the conflict of will she stay in the country or will he follow her to the city because it wasn’t a typical farm setting. The setting was remarkable yet indescribable. You’ll need to read the book for yourself. In fact I’m curious to read some more books from the Deerbourne Inn series.
As far as the relationship between Sam and Jed, it was quite entertaining. She’s a proud successful Italian city woman and Jed is a well-loved small town citizen. The writing style contained humor, chemistry and honesty between the couple which made them relatable and lovable.
There was an epilogue which I always appreciate when I’m reading a romance. It’s like getting dessert after eating a delicious meal.
I don’t have any reservations about recommending this book at all. I’m excited to explore some of the other books in this series. I would encourage others to explore this book and series as well.

If you are looking for a sweet romance and a quick read, then this is a great book for you to pick up. The characters are well written, the descriptions of the town, landscape and everything make you feel like you are looking at it with Sam and Jed. Sam has been going through life and doing what she thought she wanted to do, being jilted right before her wedding has her questioning many things especially when she goes on the honeymoon trip to Vermont. Maybe it’s the fresh air or the super hot ski instructor, but she really starts thinking about whether she is doing what she wants to do or if she is doing it because others think it’s best for her. After reading this book, I’d like to go on a trip to Vermont myself, not that I think I’d find a Jed for me, but just to see the small towns and how magical the scenery is. This book kept me engaged and I was sad to see it end, I really wanted to know more of what happens with Sam and Jed. This was my first read by this author, but based on this book, I want to read more of her work.
I really loved the idea of a city girl falling in love with the country life. I could somewhat relate to Sam and her not wanting to rock the boat when it came to her life. Sometimes life can be so safe and you forget how to live. Are you happy and content or just existing? I think both Sam and Jed needed a huge wakeup call in the form of each other. I really enjoyed the story and really liked that the author included Sam’s recipes.
So this was my first time reading this author and after reading this book, I will reading more. This author’s description of this town, the inn, farm life and skiing makes me want to head to Vermont and experience all this. Granted I know there won’t be a Jed there to help me out when I get stuck or hurt. This book was all about finding yourself after a breakup and letting love in. Jed and Sam have been burned. Sam thought she was happy in her life until it rocked. She’s always known what she was to do but after spending a week in Vermont, she starts to question what she really wants and where she wants to live. Having being jilted at the alter, opened so many doors for her that she didn’t know was possible. Jed is a good hometown kid, helping out his family after tragedy and helping out others. He’s a good guy but his heart has put on the back burning. Meeting Sam in the same position as his brother’s last night alive, has brought up some memories for him. He knew that Sam was the one his heart ached for. She looked like an Angel. These two are adorable together. I loved every minute of this book!! It was short and sweet but I needed more!
A sweet story set in Vermont. A small town romance. Loved it. Couldn’t put it down!!
This was a great and easy read about falling in love at first site, over coming tragedy in your past and living the life you truly want to live. This short read is so well written that you will be able to read it in one sitting because it’s that good!! Lovable characters you will be rooting for the whole time make this read that much better!!
This was my first read from this author. It was nice sweet read.
This book is fast paced so get ready for it. It was so sweet and so moving. Samantha just got jilted 2 weeks before her wedding. Her friends tell her to take her honeymoon anyways. Its paid for so do it. She breaks down and decides to walk for it even though there ia a blizzard going on outside. Little does she know she will meet prince charming. Jed stops to help her. He takes her to her Inn, even fills her car up with gas and delivers it back to her. This was fast but you fall in love with it all. I couldn’t stop reading it.
Jilted just before her wedding day, going on her Honeymoon alone doesn’t quite seem the thing to do and yet this is exactly what Samantha does. A ski trip and a sexy instructor might just be the thing to make it all better. But is this a rebound or the read deal? Fun and sweet, this is definite weekend must read.
Sam and Jed’s love at first sight. Jilted sam meets waiting for love Jed in a snow storm. They fall at first sight.
This is my first book by this author but it definitely won’t be my last. The story was short but sweet and I could not believe that is was over so soon. Great read though and highly recommended.
This Hallmark-worthy story is cute and charming, as two hurt people find each other, and realize they were meant to be together. The main character, Samantha, struggles with the fear of setting aside her safe and steady life for a chance to pursue love in a snowy, remote Vermont town.
The characters are well-developed and lovable. I found myself instantly rooting for them to find the happiness they deserve, and enjoyed the highs and lows as they came to terms with love-at first sight upending their predictable lives. “Forever in a Moment” ends with a very satisfying happily ever after ending that brought a smile to my face. I look forward to diving into Charlotte O’Shay’s next book.
The narrator did a most excellent job with the story, and I plan on looking up more of her work as well.
When Samantha’s fiancee calls off the wedding she still goes on her honeymoon alone. What she doesn’t know is how she will fall in love with the quiet Vermont town and all of the residents, one in particular.
This is a sweet romance. I loved how Samantha actually took a look at her life and realized there may be more than the big city and her job. She did discover herself in this snowy small town. Jed was bound and determined to win her hand.
Great characters, sweet romance, and great writing make this a must read.
A classic love story! I love the characters and their journey. A HEA that’s touching and full of feel good.
I loved this book! The characters were very well written and had amazing chemistry! I will definitely be reading more from Ms. O’Shay!
