She’s to travel to an unknown land. Hopefully, she lives long enough to make it back, too… land. Where no one in their right mind would go.
Janus Ruthe, on the other hand, is the one pumping money into the trip. He’ll do anything to solve the issues of illness ravaging the Six Isles. He’ll buy the best air witch, and travel with a group to a dangerous land. The disease he seeks a cure for has taken everything from him.
He didn’t expect an air witch like Evelyn, though. And he’s not sure why he’s so drawn to her… only that he is.
Author’s Note: This is a stand alone with an HEA and is intended for 18+.

This book is entertaining, it has action and the chemistry between Evelyn and Janis is great. I can’t wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
This continues a fascinating new series by Lisa Daniels about dragon shifters, witches and a deadly disease called the creeping rot. Book two introduces Evelyn an air witch and Janis a rich dragon shifter. Janis lost his family a long time ago to the creeping rot and then just recently his adopted family to the same disease. He teams up with Alex from the 1st book and they mount an expedition to travel to the land of Zamorka to find a cure or the cause. Unfortunately for Alex, they bought out the contract for Evelyn who was quite happy where she was. Throughout the book you can see the connection between the two growing and it just makes for a great story that leads you wanting more.

Evelyn was known as the best air witch for long-distance travelling who worked and lived in the Six Isles. She’d worked on the Cloudstalker for so many years and now she’d been informed one of the six royal families had bought her services for an exorbitant rate. Of course, 10% of her earnings were required to automatically be deposited into her families account, which she didn’t feel they deserved and caused her to feel like a commodity being bought and sold, but that was the rule.
As the Cloudstalker reached it’s destination, papers were signed and money exchanged for Evelyn’s services and she was transferred over to The Elegant where she was met with Meridas Dasenson, who she was hired by, was responsible for putting forth mechanisms to halt the Creeping Rot. Alongside him were his Life Witch, prodigy and servant, a hard faced witch with dark hair containing a streak of yellow through it, named Alex (remember Alex from book 1) and an Air Witch named Rukia with the same yellow streak in her hair, meaning both had an impure heritage of Zamorkan descent and both from the Undercity.
Janus Argent was just a child as his parents (all dragon shifters) were dying from the disease that infected and killed the magic on their planet. Their last request was for him to leave the planet immediately so he didn’t become infected and die as well. Janus was aboard an airship and watched as the entire planet crumbled and fell into nothing. He had lost everything and everyone he ever loved. That day he made up his mind he would find a way to cure whatever disease this was. The adults immediately took it upon themselves to find a couple on Ruthen Isle to take him in so he would not be alone.
Now the adoptive son of Gevard Ruthe and his wife who were previously childless, watched as his adoptive parents succumbed to the Creeping Rot. Not wanting him to become infected, they demanded he leave immediately. Hence, he was funding the expedition of The Elegant and travelling with Meridas Dasenson and his crew. Their Destination? Zamoraka, the place across the seas where demons and curses originated. Once again Lisa Daniels has provided us with mystery, adventure, angst, and the push and pull of romance in this continuing tale. The plot weaves through the storyline seamlessly with characters that are so personable it’s hard not to relate to their characteristics. This is an awe inspiring tale of magic and wonder. I can’t wait for the next book.
Janus, a dragon shifter, is heading to Zamorka with Meridas, another dragon shifter, and Alex, a life witch, to seek answers to stop the Creeping Rot in which he has lost 2 sets of parents. Zamorka is considered the home of demons and all manner of horrible dwellings and unfortunately, Evelyn, an air witch, has just been drafted into helping pilot them to this treacherous land. Janus known as a ruthlessly hard man, isn’t as uncaring as others believe because he will do anything to protect his people and home from this devouring magic disease. Even if that means going on a life-threatening mission of which he may never return. Evelyn now sees that there is more to Janus then once assumed and she is more than willing to uncover even more up close and personal. A girl must find something to entertain herself and a little friendly bet will do just nicely.
Book two in the Six Isles’ Witches and Dragons series and this series is just getting better. This is Air witch Evelyn and dragon shifter Janus Ruthe who are looking for a cure to the sickness that is effecting the Six Isles. A well written story that once I started reading I was not putting down. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Evelyn is an Air Witch who is happiest flying ships to various ports and seeing exotic lands and watching all the trade that happens at each port. She’s hired by Janis Ruthe to fly his ship to Zamorka. Janis lost his parents and adopted parents to the creeping rot disease. He’s looking for a cure in Zamorka. He is joined by Meridas and his life witch. Janis and Meridas are dragon shifters who team with another air witch and some scientists. They have a great adventure, some danger, curses, suspense and there is even love that develops. This was a great book. Started out a little slow but by the time the ship is in the air and getting closer to Zamorka the action picks up. I would highly recommend this story to others who enjoy a little shapeshifters and witches.
