This is a sweet romance with an element of suspense.
The characters were well done and the plot was believable and well paced.
Both main characters are good at their jobs, but both are also keeping secrets.
He finally realizes that getting help doesn’t mean he’s weak and that he needs help to live a better life. She is hiding threats from her ex.
I’m sorry. What is it that the ex-Army Ranger and his buddies do?? Oh yeah. They run an elite private security firm. They got this.
I enjoyed this book.
The Ranger’s Hope by Bree Livingston (4 stars)
Warning: there are spoilers in this review…
I’ve been eagerly awaiting Ryder’s story and it doesn’t disappoint! Kennedy, Ryder and Rufus are perfect for each other. They all three save one another at various points in the book and it’s pretty special to read about how those rescues take place.
Ryder’s struggles are sympathetically portrayed and help the reader to better empathize with people who suffer from panic attacks, depression, anxiety, etc. His ruminating and self-deprecating messages are written very authentically.
His fellow Ranger’s and his therapists have been telling him for years that nothing would have changed whether he knew his team was walking into a trap or not. But the moment he allows those words to become authentic to him, the moment he embraces their truth; it is a wonderful moment, indeed.
The struggle Kennedy has between her feelings and staying professional are understandable and so it’s a satisfying moment when Ryder finally fires her!
Another wonderful story from Bree Livingston! She’s a favorite of mine: good clean romance, personable characters and amazing kisses!
*poor, **ok, ***good, ****very good, *****something special
I have loved this series so far and Ryder’s story does not disappoint. I love Kennedy and her fighting heart and spirit. She has so much spunk and is perfect for Ryder. I loved Rufus! What an amazing dog. This was a fun book, but full of suspense, love and growth.
I was given an advanced copy of this book, and I am leaving this honest review voluntarily.

I loved everything about the story!!!
-‘In his gut, he knew this had the potential to go really, really bad or really, really great. And based on how his heart sped up when she smiled, he was leaning more toward bad.’-
Ahh, another great story from the Guardian Group series. The books can be read alone and in no particular order but returning characters do make it more fun to read them in order. The author writes clean romance with no swearing. I always enjoy her writing style and original stories. This one is about a veteran with PTSD and a therapist-turned-therapy-dog-trainer who is hiding from her ex-husband. They both have secrets they don’t want to reveal and both need a friend they can trust. But will they be willing to open up to each other? … Intriguing storyline and an even better read. Highly recommend it.
