If there was ever a fictional couple that needed a HEA, it’s Emo and Rella, and I’m so glad they finally got theirs! This was the hardest in the series for me to read. It was more emotional, angsty, and gruesome than the others. BUT I kind of expected that considering both Emo’s and Rella’s backgrounds. I wouldn’t change a thing. Being the last in the series, I would recommend reading the first 3 books first, mainly to get an understanding of the torment the characters shared and the dynamics of their relationships. Even though this is Emo’s story, we get to know his quirks throughout the series. I loved it and am excited to read more about Grace in the future.
5 dark yet beautiful stars!!
This, sadly, is the fourth and final book of the “Hell Night” series. I do not recommend to read as a stand alone.
I can’t believe this is over. This is one of very few series that I did not loose interest in as it went. I am in love with this entire town. But I think Emo’s story touched me the most and I think because it was Rella’s story too. Two damaged souls. I was their biggest cheerleader.
Before the end of the final book Emo was a dark secret but I just didn’t get much from him. This book opened him up to the world. God my heart aches for him and Rella.
This author created these characters with so much back story. She created these terrible pasts but still kept them true to themselves. Their past didn’t just disappear as they got older or they didn’t wallow in it. Each and every one of them fought. They became survivors and vigilantes!! I am in love with this entire series.
The book hooked me from page one. I have done nothing but read and cook today. I couldn’t walk away. There was never even a down moment in this book. Thank you Alex for even making something so twisted and dark, beautiful.
This entire series is a MUST read!!
**I received this book as an ARC and in return gave my honest review**
Key to Hell is the much anticipated conclusion to the Hell Night series and, IMO, it’s nothing short of the perfect ending to the series.
Emo is the youngest and definitely most disturbed character of them all. He’s brooding, dark and more damaged than any of the other men. While his nickname comes from the fact that he’s hardly emotional, Emo is indeed the one that has felt everything they’ve gone through the hardest and he constantly punishes himself for the damage he considers he’s guilty of.
Ms. Grayson is really a master at writing dark stories and disturbing characters and Emo’s story doesn’t disappoint in the least. It’s filled with twists and revelations that will leave the reader astonished.
So I’ll start by saying if u have triggers this is not the book or series for u !!
But in saying that I am shocked and devastated that this series is over !
Alex has had me on the edge of my seat wanting more but scared to continue in each of the Hell series books, she makes me think she makes me scared to sleep (nightmares lol) she has me staying up all night with a light on, if you are new to her I could not recommend her or this entire series more then I already have she is an amazing story teller.
You are sucked into this twisted world and it’s a shock when the story is over and reality takes over …. definitely a big fan here !
horrible evil sick dark twisted devistatingly beautiful and bloody awesome are just some words that pop into my head for this book alone …. but this series as a whole is that and so much more !
I absolutely loved the whole Hell series and Key to hell was no exception Emo and Rella deserve to be happy but will they get there happy ever after with all the horrors in their past and people still alive that don’t deserve to be breathing our air will they get it ? Mmmmm well u will have to get this book to find out !
With so much build up throughout the series and so many expectations for Emo’s story, I can’t imagine the pressure the author felt. With that said, Key to Hell is without question Alex Grayson’s best book to date!
From the first page until the very last I was completely engrossed in this story. Every sentence, every page, and every chapter held me spellbound. Emo and Rella’s story was marked by tragedy, heartbreak, and endless pain. But out of that pain, came a bond and a love so strong, it defied death, distance, and years of abuse. Key to Hell is not a pretty story, but it is a beautiful one. The story of two people that overcome all odds, hope beyond the devastation of their childhoods and struggle daily to fight back the fears that haunt them.
Alex Grayson deals with multiple sensitive topics within this story alone. She handles them all with respect, grace, and with an attention to detail that is unparalleled. Never have I read a story involving self-harm where the act is more accurately portrayed than in this one. The author showed us what it’s like to live in the mind of someone that harms rather than just tells us of their actions.
I couldn’t imagine a more perfect ending for the Hell Night series or for Emo and Rella. I have thoroughly enjoyed each book in this series and slowly falling in love with all of the characters.
This book was so highly anticipated by me. This series has been emotionally gripping and I expected nothing less from Key to Hell. I so want to reread the series, as I feel like there were some easter eggs scattered throughout that brought clarity and understanding with Emo’s story. If there’s one word that I would use to sum up Key to Hell, it would be pain. Oh, there was emotional and physical pain throughout the series, but here is a gut wrenching pain felt to the soul. And for as much pain, there’s just as much love and protection. Plus a couple of shockers thrown in to remind you, the reader, that you don’t really have a clue as to where this story is going. And now that this concludes the series, I’m saddened that it’s ended. I’ve not only questioned Author Alex Grayson’s creative mind, but my own mind for enjoying it so much. As much as each book in the series could be read as a standalone, they truly support each other and must be read in order.
Hauntingly beautiful!!
Can Emo and Rella over come their painful past and find happiness?!
Definite must read!! Fantastic end to a fantastic series!!!
If I wasn’t reading it, I was thinking about it itching to get back to it!!!
5 Stars
The final book in the Hell Night Series will take you through every emotion you can imagine and wring every feeling from you that you possess. Emo is without a doubt the most heartbreaking as darkest character throughout the series so be prepared for very dark and heart shattering moments. How Alex Grayson has taken a series with such a dark underlying story and created a fulfilling and beautiful cast of characters is nothing short of amazing! Emo absolutely got the final book he and this series deserved! As with the previous books in the series, be aware of dark themes and triggers that may upset some readers…but very necessary in the understanding of these characters.

Out-freaking-standing!
From the cover to the last line, Key to Hell is a breathtakingly poignant read!
Intense mature topics, raw and soul stirring desires, and the most beautiful romance are packed into this book.
From the beginning I’ve always wondered how the heck Emo’s story could possibly be written. This man that holds secrets, and who has a dark side, surly can’t have an HEA. Well, Alex stepped up and became the master of her craft. She wrote about a broken and cautious woman that blossoms under Emo’s care. His determination to see her heal is powerful and absolutely brilliant.
All the characters from this series have appearances and I truly don’t recommend reading this book out of order. It figuratively and literally holds the Key to Hell. Will there be shocking moments? Of course! Will you fall in love with this broken man? 100%
I have no idea how Alex can think of these stories and transform them into art. The entire series can be a trigger for a reader. However, each book it’s written so tastefully and flowed throughout.
Will you love it? Yes! At times will you question your beliefs in how justice should be delivered? Most definitely. Is this the best in the series? Truthfully, I don’t think I can choose. Alex’s storytelling is that awesome!
I sincerely and wholeheartedly recommend this book!
I’m sad to see this series end, although we aren’t completely saying goodbye to these characters this series is going to be hard to top. Will definitely be one that will be remembered for years to come.
This author has managed to tackle a horrible reality for far too many people with such decorum and grace.
This book like the others in the series is tough to read but in the very best ways. It shows that even when you believe there is no saving yourself or loved ones, that if you persevere that there is hope.
Do yourself a favour and one click this book/series. You will be changed for life.
Would give more stars if I could
The impossible was achieved.
So twisted and mind chillingly good.
Emo stole my heart from book 1. I was on pins and needles to read his book. Alex Grayson HIT IT OUT OF THE PARK WITH EMO AND RELLA! I could’ve read it in one sitting, but I didn’t want it to end. The emotions: fear, sadness, rage, longing, hatred, aching, and finally love left me with my heart in my throat from page 1. I was anxious about how it would all play out. How were two broken souls going to be able to heal one another after horrific, horrific abuse that was dealt to them? I thought it might be impossible, but the impossible was achieved. Alex Grayson did not make this book easy by any means. She gave you all the pain and emotions. She let me be totally immersed in the story of Emo and Rella. There was no easy path, nothing glossed over. The bad, worse, and the ugly are served to you on a platter. Then there was redemption and love. You ached with wanting for the love between Rella and Emo. They both deserved it and they received it on their own terms. Their path was not an easy one on any level, but their HEA was well worth what the reader is put through to get there. You appreciate it so much more. I know I feel like I am rambling, but I can’t put into words how good this book was.
This book easily placed itself on my Top Ten List for 2019. Now beware this book is not for everyone and the subject matter will break your heart and make you wonder on how sick and depraved humanity can and could be. This subject matter has happened or continues to happen, but Alex Grayson gave it a face and an ending that not everyone gets. Read this series…read this book…you will not regret it.
