Good story…well told…
I couldn’t get too far into this book before deciding to not waste my time on a book I wasn’t in love with. Not too far into it the 2 characters (Shell & Cal) had a conversation & the author used the wrong name for one of them who was talking – glaring error. And the Christian talk seemed to be thrown in at places where it was just for effect. Very slow-moving; unexciting.
This book reveals some real issues about homegrown terrorist groups in the USA. The plot was well written but you have to slog through a lot of location descriptions and pontificating on prison life and other statistical info about terrorist groups. Still, the book was good, a bit frightening about what goes on in America wrapped around a mystery about a grieving grandfather working so hard to get his son released from prison for something he didn’t do. Read the book to see how he did it.
Would like to see more books from this author. Did not end as I expected, but pleased how it was all brought to a conclusion. GREAT BOOK!
enjoyed this book. if it is anywhere near how prisons are operated, how scary and corrupt can we get. somehow I do not think this is total fiction.
Completely unexpected. I highly recommend.
Really fast read. Somewhat unusual plot. Likable characters…clever too.
well crafted and worth reading
Fast read. Surprising ending.
A great read from beginning to end! The main character has a keen sense of justice, and is willing to go to extremes to see that justice is done…even if that means breaking the law. That’s enough for me to keep me reading. I found myself cheering him on in his mission to rescue the world from a bad situation. It was geographically accurate…the best I could tell.
personal comment-> it is refreshing to read a compelling story that places people of faith in bad situations that are overcome partly due to the characters’ strength of conviction, worldview and depth of character
I really enjoyed this book I haven’t read this this type of book in a long time
Learned something when I read this book. I don’t want to give it away, but I could not put the book down. It was so very good and interesting. One of the things I can say is that I learned how prisons work a little bit and how they are inside. Learned something about solitary confinement too. But there is a lot more to the story. I recommend it for everyone.
It was good and an enjoyment to read
Prison life and the action parts are well researched and realistic…over-all I enjoyed this book…
Although the writer makes you feel really bad for the main characters it just takes forever to develop. Slow, very slow. Couldn’t get past chapter 10.
Too long..
Unusual story but I kept reading as it was too hard to put down. I recommend this to anyone who reads and loves a real mystery.
