Life sure knows how to knock you off your feet with curveballs you never see coming. She’s one of those curveballs. Lizzie—the girl with the big, blue eyes who captivated me from the first moment I saw her. I knew it was risky and irresponsible, allowing her to get so close when my life can change in an instant with one simple phone call. But I wasn’t strong enough to fight it. I couldn’t. Not … I couldn’t. Not when being with her made me realize that we found the kind of love most people search a lifetime for.
But my past has the potential to tear us apart, and to break her in the process. How do I protect her from the consequences of decisions?
I can’t let her slip through my fingers. She’s the most beautiful part of my life now. Precious, delicate, and worth fighting for…
Until the very end.

NOAH, by Fiona Keane, is a warm, heartfelt, sexy romance, that’s written so beautifully that it kept me hooked from page one. I snuck-read this book at work, hiding my phone under a pile of papers because (a) I fell in love with Noah and wanted more, and (b) I needed to see Noah and Lizzie get to their HEA. Note: Although it’s Book 2 of the More Than Friends series, it can be read as a standalone.
Noah, an EMT, meets Lizzie at the hospital, during one of the most traumatic experiences of her life. They have an instantaneous connection as he consoles her, and their conversation gets a bit flirty. At first, he’s reluctant to move forward with her, because he’s been burned and he’s hurting. But once he realizes that Lizzie is too good to let slide through his fingers, they get together and start to learn each other. With Lizzie, though, Noah doesn’t only have to win her heart, he has to win the heart of her fiercely loyal friends.
One of the best things about the More Than Friends series (try Book One, SEAN, if you’d like to catch up), is the friendships. Sean and Avery, Ella and Jesse, Lizzie, and now Noah, have the kind of friendship that we all hope for, where your group of friends becomes closer than your family. Those post-college, pre-thirties years are a time of soul-searching, and Ms. Keane writes this cast of characters perfectly. They’re young and fun, but also old enough to know that life isn’t all about getting drunk and hooking up. They have serious life issues and lean on each other for support, and they’re looking for their happily ever afters. Adding Noah to the mix of friends made the group’s relationships stronger.
My favorite thing about NOAH, though, is that it lets the reader inside of Noah’s head and heart. Although he’s a muscled, tattooed hero-hottie (with a cute, old pup named Muffin!) on the outside, on the inside, Noah’s devoted, enamored and completely smitten with Lizzie. I loved being in Noah’s head. He’s a male who is a teddy bear inside, who feels mature things, and has thoughts that don’t center solely around his sexuality, but moreso his emotional state of being. When he’s hit with some curveballs in the form of his job and his ex, my heart cracked for him, he was written so well. He never tries to control Lizzie or dominate her—he only wants to cherish her, which is refreshing in a male romance POV. NOAH made me believe in love, hope, and dreams, and that it was able to do that through the male POV is a true testament to Ms. Keane’s writing ability.
I love Ms. Keane’s stories because they give me all the feels and make my heart explode, just to put it all back together again and leave me emotionally wrecked in the best way, ready for more. NOAH is no exception. Highly recommended for readers who enjoy a thoughtful, character-driven romance, high on emotion and beautifully written.
This is the second book in this phenomenal series, and is Lizzie and Noah’s story. Noah is an EMT, and when he meets Lizzie at the hospital, he consoles her, and there is an instant attraction between them. This is a beautifully written flawless story, which is an emotional roller coaster ride, and with witty banter throughout. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read more from this talented author, whose work I highly recommend for all. In my opinion, this story is worth so much more that the 5 star rating allowed!
