I continue to enjoy this cozy mystery series. I find them to be well written and very entertaining. The plot moves at a steady pace that keeps you engaged. The characters are well-developed and each instalment they are being fleshed out more. Teeny always evokes a giggle or two, and I rarely laugh out loud.
Chelsea, her aunt May and Teeny are at it again – Chelsea finds a dead body and it looks suspicious but the new police chief Sunny Flannigan (formerly Det. Wayne Hudsons partner) is calling it death by natural causes!
The town is protesting a Massive Mart being built, and it could affect Teeny, as well as the rest of the town’s independent businesses. What develops has our amateur sleuths sifting through each new clue, leading them to all sorts of danger. Chelsea is being admired by Germany Turtle who had fallen in love with her reading all the articles about her sleuthing when he was living in Africa. Det. Wayne Hudson has been out of town for several months as a witness in a trial, but he does come back and wants to see were their dance leads.
I highly recommend this book/series. It can easily stand alone but I recommend you read the series from the beginning.

Chelsea and Miss May begin on the trail of several mysteries. On top of that, Pine Grove is outraged at the plans of the “infamous” real estate developer, Hank Rosenberg. His planned Massive Mart May even affect Teeny, as well as the rest of the town’s independent businesses. What develops has our amateur sleuths sifting through each new clue, leading straight to danger. Then, just as the way seems to open for Detective Wayne, an interesting introduction brings a humorous and intriguing possibility. The characters in the Apple Orchard series keep developing. I highly recommend Berried Alive and the other novels by Chelsea Thomas. As well as receiving an ARC, I purchased a copy to support the authors.

Mega-Mart Brings Murder to Town!
In this cozy mystery, a mega-mart is coming to town, the people are upset and the bodies start falling! This is a fun episode that is a bit different from the prior books. It is very cute and the mystery is good. There are more quirky characters and silly nonsense! I received this ARC from Booksprouts for free and this is my honest review.
This is a great little cozy mystery series that is super funny and pretty darn cute. I had not heard of this author before finding this ARC, so I went back and read the other three books in the series before reading this one and I’m glad I did. This series can be read as a stand alone, but it works even better being read in order. I’m glad I started at the beginning.
This book has great characters, funny story line, bits of mystery and good descriptions to detail. It has a hint of a possible romance in the making, but it for sure is not the main premise of the story.
Would I recommend this book? Yes
Would I read more from this author? Yes

Another great book in the series. Miss May, Chelsea and Teeny once again solved the case before the local police department. Hank Rosenberg’s character was the perfect love to hate him. The plot twists were outstanding and kept the story moving. Highly recommend.

A local developer wants to build a Mega Mart in the small town of Pine Grove and there are very few in the community who support the idea. When he turns up dead, almost everyone is a suspect.
A quick read that had me guessing until the end!
When a local developer works to change the face of the quaint small town of Pine Grove with a new, massive store the citizens stand up in protest. The only supporter seems to be the mayor.
At the same time, a rise in burglaries alarms the town, but the new police chief brushes off everyone’s concerns. She appears to have her own agenda.
After a town meeting, Chelsea and her aunt, Miss May attempt to return a briefcase to the developer. Instead, they find a dead body. When the Police Chief claims the man died of natural causes, Chelsea, Miss May and the entire town believe a murderer is in their midst. Since the police are not investigating, the local sleuths begin a new case.
I continue to enjoy this series. The books are well written and entertaining. The plot moves at a good pace that keeps the reader engaged. It was hard to put down. The characters are well-developed. More than one evokes a giggle. I recommend this book. It can easily stand alone. Do yourself a favor and read the series from the beginning.

Yet another great addition to the series, I was very surprised by the additional suitor who has come to town to woo Chelsea !!! Miss May and Chelsea really have things cut out for them this time when basically the whole town has a motive for murder and there seems to be a good motive for quiet a few even those who they really hope didn’t do it. I loved the extra tension in the book with the countdown on for the Massive Mart which you could feel the worry of the town yourself and I needed to know not only who killed the dastardly Hank. At the end of the book I still had questions … will Big Dan go through with his idea and can the hipsters help Petey be successful!
